|The Boys' Game Night and An Investigation|

--Kim Young's Point of View--

"What took you so long in there?" I asked while holding the door for Sungyeon-Hyung.

We boys planned to stay over at Miles' house for the entire day when we decided to skip class... 'I was forced to do that.'

Although it is Thursday which means that some of us aren't exactly skipping class, I just want to say, how lucky they are!

"The interview took some time to process." he answered while hopping inside the car.

We then drove off towards the exit where the highway was located, heading back to Miles' house after Sungyeon-Hyung had attended his job interview that he'd be doing this entire summer break before starting college.

"Do you think one would be enough though?" I asked.

"It depends if I do well, the contract says that I can't work elsewhere whilst working there, why? It's a full-time..."

He spoke, turning over the wheel to the right. He was responsibly driving which means that he'll be an excellent employee in his new workplace.

I wonder when I'll be able to work full-time...

'My girlfriend is always against my dream career.'

"By the way, how is your modeling?" Sungyeon-Hyung questioned me, briefly looking to the side as he pulled over in the drive-thru lane.

I opened my phone and called the boys before responding to him.

"I don't know how I am going to persuade her that there is no stopping me from doing what I've always dreamed of doing and our relationship is at risk."

"------" the phone was still dialing and so, the two of us decided to order what we wanted first before slowly thinking about what the other boys would normally order based on our observation and the time we'd spent with them so far.

"We'll get a double and medium-"

I was cut off when someone knocked on the window beside me.

I looked to the side, asking Sungyeon-Hyung to lower it and we saw Dan grinning as he casually entered the back seat.

"Hello!" Seongmin held one hand up while the other was in his coat's pocket, greeting us with the rest of our friends.

Dan went further inside the car, moving towards the left where the drive-thru microphone was on, he ordered a bunch of food sets for himself and took out a paper but when I thought about asking.

"I couldn't memorize my order so I wrote them all on this piece of paper, got any problem with that?" he threateningly asked, rolling his eyes as he informed us.

"You're kidding, right? Do you even know who's paying?"

Sunghyeon-Hyung reminded him that our budget is quite tight.

"Yeah, and that's me!" he annoyingly stated, leaving our mouths hanging wide open.

"Shouldn't you be saving though..?" Seongmin had asked while running over to the side, snatching the list that Dan was holding.

"Are you serious?"

We were curious about what shocked Seongmin as he looked at the list Dan was holding, he covered his mouth before acting as if he had just won the lottery.

"Spit it out already."

Min-Hyung demanded whilst taking a seat beside Dan, the rest of them did the same and peeked at the list, gasping in surprise.

"You're so cool, Daniel Austin." Miles commented.

"I've been saving a lot even right from the beginning, you know?"

He proudly announced as we laughed at his arrogance and went on with our day, we spent that entire trip eating on our way back to Miles' house.

"Should we order chicken wings, a couple of fizzy drinks, and some pizza for tonight's dinner?" suggested Dan, the rest of us shrugged the thought off about food as it was still too early for that and we just finished eating...

"You ungrateful people." he added.

"Aren't you guys glad that I'm offering my wallet to treat you at least once in a lifetime??" he held onto both sides of his head in frustration as he saw our reactions.

"We are very thankful, friend. But you're already overdoing it, friend." said the man in black, to be specific, Byungchan spoke in such a depressive tone.

He was wearing a hoodie over his head and playing with the tennis ball as he stared at the wall, Miles, however, attempted to lift himself from the couch upon seeing the trash piled up in the kitchen but in the end, he sluggishly gave up, returning to his seat after.

"You better clean up after yourselves!"

Miles threw a pillow towards the front door, shutting it without much trouble before resuming what he was supposed to tell us.

"I'm not the same friendly Miles here at home, just so you know."

The sound effects of the video game they were playing blasted so loud that even Sungyeon-Hyung flinched from his spot.

"If there's anything I hate, it is being ignored."

The freckled boy, Miles spoke in a low voice as he started picking up the trash while the rest of us each raised our feet off the ground to make way for him.

I decided to help him since he is our friend and is hosting the game night.

After about 30 minutes, it became wild in the living room as well as the kitchen because obviously, we are guys...

"You're bad at this game and it's not even a battle against each other. Or as people would call it player versus player!" Dan boasted in front of Seongmin.

"Okay! As if you'll ever win against me over Honey's attention." the younger answered.

The entire house went silent from the comment because of an unexpected topic, out of all the things he could use against Dan.

Why does it have to be something so personal?

"Wanna bet on that?!" the boy, in particular, raised his voice from the offense.

"Aha! Sure, if you really to see it!" the two of them were shouting at each other, holding their fists together and shaking hands.

"I love you guys but this is just so childish of you."

Sookyung honestly spoke up as he stood in between the others in the living room, unbothered by the sign of defeat in the game.

"I'll show you who's the boss, you 1-day old beaver!"

Seongmin added right as he went back to lying on his stomach and then, took the controller away from Min Oh.

"Would you just stop calling me that?!" Dan started again.

"Where did you even get the idea of namecalling me as a beaver??" he questioned the rest of us while facing Seongmin.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Well, this is overwhelming." said the eldest, Sungyeon-Hyung was practically a wall, keeping the two from fighting one another physically.
"Here! See? You don't even have her number!"
Seongmin brought his phone closer to Dan's face.
"At least I get to hang out with her whenever I can, and I don't have to worry about closure..." the beaver-Dan replied with little attention this time, focused on beating Seongmin in the game.
Suddenly, when Sungyeon-Hyung stood up to say something to them, the police stopped by at the front of the house.
"Look at what you two did." Miles scolded them.
Min Oh confronted the two while I casually walked toward the men outside.
It isn't shocking to have the cops around us anymore since our group is pretty problematic or as we like to call it, indifferent.
"Cut it out!" I heard a shout from the inside, I was about to look behind when the men approached me and so, I greeted them.
"Do you happen to know the issue here?" asked Officer Willows, a relative of Haesu.
His eyes roamed around as he stood properly after slightly lessening the tension in the atmosphere there was.
"We just have a little competition going on..."
They listened as I began explaining.
I took a deep breath before continuing with our defense.
"We'll keep it down."
The three of them nodded as they acknowledged the fact that I planned on ending the ruckus coming from the house. However, they didn't let me off easily and I had to receive a fine for a noise violation in the neighborhood.
"Also, is there any update on the investigation?" I inaudibly questioned but they were able to perceive the message.
They even insisted that we talk in private since it is a serious case, we hopped into their automobile and tightly shut the doors to keep anyone from eavesdropping.
"There wasn't a single person seen in the footage from the school cameras around that time, we figured that it would alarm the culprit if ever there is when we start gathering evidence to start the case."
Officer Travis informed me about the 'case' indicating their hunt to unmask the culprit.
It was confirmed that someone planned the whole incident based on the statement they got from the crowd gossip as well as the scene.
"We can file a report but the problem is..."
"First, we need to figure out the history of the weapon to pinpoint whoever is connected with the weapon."
Officer Willows stated following Officer Travis' discontinuation.
'It's a vague case, to begin with.' it'll be difficult.
"We're working on it as a favor, and you students owe us a bunch." Officer Ravel leaned back as he joined in the talk.
And with that, I left the area and then headed back inside, hearing pans, utensils, etc., bashing loudly in the hands of those so-called friends of mine.
'Whatever it is, I'm too occupied to care...'
I thought to myself, concerned about our group's unhealthy relationship with one another, including the people surrounding each one of us.
