|A Competition For His Attention or The Lead Role?|

--Honey Lou's Point of View--

I dropped my head as Ivy scolded me, it was raining yesterday so, I had nothing to keep myself from getting rained on, however, it's fine by me...

'At least I didn't get overheated because of the sun which is quite worse, personally.' she dramatically sat, placing her hand on her crown as she thought about things.

"You shouldn't participate in the first performance instead, find a partner you can connect with and write an instrumental song together."

How do I write an instrumental song when I can't even write my essays..?

"------" her phone rang before I complained.

"Yes, honey?" my body shivered as I heard her mention that word.

Why does she have to call him that when I am around?

"Excuse me for a moment, Honey." she muted the phone before walking away.

My father must be having trouble again with some business work and stuff.

I bet he'll get mad if I call him or something like that.

"What do you mean no?" I heard her yell, questioning whatever the man hadn't allowed.

'A puppet theme performance, huh?'

"You can't do that. It's important to my family." she complained, they were both ranting at each other, basically over a straightforward issue that might end up being worse.

"Fine! I'll use my money to fund the event then, you handle your own company without me, you rat!" she hung up, suppressing her anger.

She rested herself on the kitchen counter.

'Another day of their bickering, one is narrow-minded and the other... She's just tired of everything.' Ivy dragged herself back to the sofa and continued sketching the costume designs we'd be using.

'Marionette suits Honey because she's always nice and prefers to obey others... In other words, people like manipulating her which is what he'll be doing.' a note read.

'Is that how I act? Seriously, I'm just trying to be nice...' don't tell me that it's also a crime, nevertheless, I should still be careful when it comes to those who take me for granted.

Speaking of which, I wonder how things will turn out once the preparation is over.

"Do you prefer the muddy brown or the woody brown color?" she asked for my judgment.

"The woody brown color looks neat but is there such a color with that kind of name?" she was occupied enough to not even care about dinner.

It was almost 9 PM and I had been starving for about 3 hours so I got up to prepare.

However, she pulled me back down, indicating that we should finish the sketches we've made so far, hence, I did as she told me.

((The Next Day)) "Honey! Hurry up." she yelled, demanding that I rush whatever I was doing upstairs although, between the two of us...

'I woke up earlier than she did and then, prepared breakfast.'

Nonetheless, I'll let her realize that since she did insult me when she wrote that absurd description on a note about the ballet performance.

"Ms. Honey Catherine Lou!" she called.

'I dislike it when she calls me that way, the same goes for everyone else.' I tried not to roll my eyes because it was against my will though sometimes I can't resist doing so...

"Honey Cath-" she walked back and forth in her spot before realizing that I was in the kitchen this whole time, eating a piece of toast.

"Why won't you answer me? I feel awkward."

The day went on as she quarreled with me, not that I answered in any way but here we are, heading to school together.

"Did you polish your black shoes before wearing them?" she asked.

Stopping the car in the middle of the highway, people around us were going crazy and honking their vehicles while I simply sat there in complete annoyance.

The sound of cars making those beeping noises was driving me nuts!

"Will you please just start the car?" I complained, blocking my ears because it was terrorizing my eardrums.

'Thank goodness.' we were back on track with silence filling in the atmosphere surrounding us, there was no need for words until...

"Why is there a tissue down here?" she asked while meddling with the car seats as she drove irresponsibly. "Stop touching the wheel, I'm the adult here." she scolded me.

'I was only trying to guide your hands, we could've gotten into an accident because of you cleaning the car right now.' those were the words that I badly wanted to tell her.

But unfortunately, I couldn't do so...

She scoffed before stopping the car once again, the cars all around us were honking another time so, I took my bag while unlocking the door as I left her there.

"This is why you're perfect for the puppet role, Honey Catherine Lou!"

She mentioned my entire name.

'Seriously, was that a compliment or an insult??'

Luckily, the school wasn't far from where she stopped the car.

It was 8:00 AM when our class was dismissed, however, the teacher didn't exit so soon because she had trouble carrying her things on the way out.

"I wasn't aware that Ms. Choi was pregnant." said my classmate, Seongmin.

He hastily went over to the teacher as she gave the books, knowing that he would be assisting her as she left.

"Hey, how was practice yesterday?" Jihyun cheerfully asked me, facing me with a bit of an attitude but still, I was able to keep myself from getting annoyed at her reaction since I was not participating in the first performance.

"Oh, wait! I forgot you aren't a part of the performance." she smiled at me, taunting as you would openly call it.

"I don't mind it since I'm not really into swans or love stories, after all, it is only the beginning and not the finale which is the important thing."

I replied as I took out my notepad, continuing my sketches for the suggestion meeting later on.

'I don't get why I'm supposed to be planning with the grown-ups but at least, I have a bit of knowledge regarding the performance I'll be doing.'

"Are you seriously boasting? I heard it was false information, specifically, false hope for those who aren't aware..." she exclaimed in panic, it was surprisingly stupid yet I tried to act clueless about what she had meant by all those words.

I had also completely forgotten about the fact that I have an image...

"What are you trying to say? I can't quite follow."

She took all her belongings before running away as the entire classroom narrowed their attention on us, it was a good decision that I say that last sentence if not...

I would have blown my cover by then.

"What were you both talking about?"

Seongmin returned at that very second, attempting to start a conversation with me.

"I'm just as confused as you are."

"I heard from Sora that you're into photography so I was wondering if you might want to join our club..." he spoke, honestly, I don't think I have the time for that.

But still, I didn't decline.

"Sure! I have tons of albums where I keep my most priceless collection, and I am telling you. I am so crazy about photography!" I shouted in excitement.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Apparently, Jihyun did not give up after she lost in that so-called flex battle, it's funny how I won without even trying...
"I just hope she doesn't take things personally, I was only bored and said the first thing that popped into my mind."
Sora happened to be right beside me as I spoke out loud, she mentioned that she wouldn't leave me alone.
Until I lived up to my word that I'd certainly go with them on that swimming trip.
"I see, you do have a competition over Dan."
"A competition over Dane?? Correction, Dan." I rephrased as I spoke to her, questioning what she had meant by the word competition.
I thought that it was only about getting the lead role.
I admit that I was disappointed when she got the lead role for the first performance but in my opinion, fighting over a guy is too childish...
'I also think that she does deserve that spot but seriously? She likes him..?'
"Is that the reason she was gloating at me?"
Sora facepalmed herself once I asked again, she even found me naive about these kinds of things, however, the reason is that I prefer to keep a few thoughts to myself and never let them come out of my mouth.
'Not now, not ever. It is also because I often doubt myself... Unfortunately.'
