~ Calliberone Police ~
Sitting on a long metal table in his own room, Detective Saber puffed on his cigarette.
He looked at the crazy wall filled with images of the murder scenes. About 10 hot case files sat on his unsteady table with 3 empty cans of Red bull.
[ Crazy wall : Evidence board ]
The detective's mind was burning.
*Wow... Is it a genocide* he thought to himself looking at the crazy wall.
Strings leading mostly every town in Mandorin.
And each minute that passes by, a new case file sits down in his table as he receives a million pictures in his Mac.
Each murder was a strange one. An abnormal death.
*I think my suspicions are true! Supernaturals!*
Since the beginning, he was suspecting the deaths, for being killed by supernatural beings.
It was the only explanation for the cases. It was utterly impossible, since the criminal activity was decreasing in Calliberone.
He caught a thousand criminals, just the month before.
But he couldn't solve the case alone.
He turned around and got the Red Bull can which wasn't empty. All the other 2 cans were finished.
He drank down the energy drink. It always made him feel smarter. Always made his brain work faster.
Suddenly his phone rang in the pocket of his overcoat. His favourite song was playing.
He quickly took it and answered it.
"Hello! Detective Saber!"
The man on the phone screamed out.
"There's three people asking to come in through the gates! Did you ask for them?"
The man asked Saber.
Saber took the last gulp of the energy drink.
"Yes! Send them in!" said Saber and hung up the phone.
Saber pulled up his window shutters to take a peek.
Three cars pulled in through the gates. It was the ones he had called for his case.
He checked his wrist watch.
[ 01:45 am ]
It was about time. It was the free time of the three the detective asked for.
He sat down in his chair and waited for the arrival of the three.
He patiently waited for the three to come in through the door.
5 minutes later...
*Knock* *Knock*
Suddenly a knock came.
"Come in!"
Saber called out to the people outside.
The 3 people entered the room.
One of them was wearing a black overcoat. He was a tall and fair man. He had short curly hair.
The man was wearing two round sunglasses and a bowler hat. The man had a short beard too.
The other man was wearing a long leather overcoat. He had 2 scars carved into his eyes. The man was half blind.
He had short and messy hair with a short moustache.
And the last one was the most handsome one of them all. He was wearing a sweatshirt and some sweatpants.
He was very young. He had short white hair. The guy looked like he was in his 20s.
All three of them took a seat in front of the detective's table.
The detective went and stood in front of his chair at the table. The crazy wall was right behind him.
"Hmmm... So... You three must've heard about the constant killings right?"
Saber asked the three people sitting in front of him.
"Yes... We have..."
The young boy wearing the sweatshirt answered Saber.
"Good Barney! Good... " said Saber to the young man.
All of them were good friends. All four of them have been friends since they were in high school, except for Barney. He was younger than them.
Barney met them when he was in middle school. It has almost been 4 years since the last time they met.
Now, they were on their own with their own professions. Within the 4 years, millions of things had changed.
Saber had become the best detective. Barney has become the best mastermind in town.
Tony has become the best hitman. The one who was wearing the leather overcoat.
And Jason, the man in the long black overcoat, has become a mafia boss and a major political player.
All of them went along different paths. And all of them had reached the peak of their professions.
"So... Tell me Barney.. how's things going on with you?"
Saber asked him as he walked to the front of the desk and sat on the edge of the desk.
"Very well... Some of my customers already died but... Things are going pretty well!" Barney answered the man.
Saber took the stick that was lying on the table and pointed it at the crazy wall.
"So! This... Any idea about this?"
He asked the three people who were glaring at the crazy wall. If a normal human glared into a crazy wall, they would go crazy.
But when a group of people who's only dream is to stare into a crazy wall glared at it, it's a different case.
All 3 of them knew every single murder case on the crazy wall.
"Wasn't I! And if it wasn't me... I don't know who had that much guts and a master plan to get away with these."
Tony answered the detective, who had a seriously confused look on his face.
"Well... Jason?"
Saber turned to Jason who was looking carefully at the crazy wall. His eyes followed all the lines joining into the middle.
Suddenly he had a witty smile on his face.
"You don't even have a clear idea of the root do you? Just pulling the string back to Calliberone."
The man howled at Saber.
*Hmm... I have never seen you like this Saber! What the fuck happened to your great mind!*
Even though the man howled at Saber, he knew deep down that Saber was someone who couldn't be confused this easily.
"Someone! What the fuck!!! I can't find any shit! Why??? Why????"
The man yelled. He was losing his mind. He couldn't stand it anymore. He hasn't slept in about 3 days. The constant cases kept him awake.
"And... What's the reason for that?"
Barney, who was patiently waiting, asked him.
"What? Well... I think there are supernatural beings lurking in the city!"
Saber said to him looking ashamed. He never believed in any mythology. He couldn't stand the shame.
"So... That's the only suspect right? I don't think there's anything more than that!"
Barney said to Saber.
"Yes... But what?? The people won't ever believe this!" the detective blabbered, pulling his hair angrily.
"And to prove the difference between a lie and a truth... What do we use?"
Barney asked the man, putting a chewing gum inside his mouth.
"Evidence... We need proof..." answered Saber to the young man. "But- What about the countless bloodshed? How can we escape that?"
"Countless bloodshed? Each day the number of murders increases by numbers! This is not a thing that we can go all out on a clear, it's like an epidemic... We can't think about the lives that are already dead... We have to save the remaining... But everything takes a sacrifice."
Barney told his speech with the chewing gum in his mouth.
The other three thought about this for a while.
From all of the four people, Barney was a little special. He was more cunning than the other 3. He had something very special inside him.
"I agree.." agreed Tony.
"Yes.. me too!" agreed Jason.
"Well then the problem's sorted.."
Said Saber as he jumped down from the desk.
"Now you guys can take the leave... We shall meet again tomorrow, back here!" said Saber.
The 3 men looked at Saber in disgrace.
"You know that we don't really like free charity work!" Tony uttered angrily at Saber.
The other two shrugged.
*Hahaha*
Saber cackled.
"Well I always loved charity! I work for the government for Pete's sake!" blabbered Saber.
He even hated the word government. But he wasn't a law breaker. So he chose to stay on the good side.
The other three criminal bosses didn't like charity work. They came here to take enough money home.
Without a doubt, Saber knew that. Suddenly, he went to his table and ducked under it.
There were 3 briefcases under the table. He took out the three of them and placed them on his messed up table.
He got back up and looked at the faces of the three. He saw the eyes of the three men glued to the suitcases.
"Well dig in you dogs!"
The man uttered as he threw one briefcase to each one of them.
The men caught the brief cases and stood up.
"Well... Time for me to go to sleep, see ya tomorrow!" said Saber as he took his jacket hanging on the coat hanger.
He wore his brown overcoat and took off from the room. He opened the door and there was a fellow junior detective walking nearby.
"Brother! I need you to do something!"
Saber called out to the young man.
"Sure, go ahead, senior Saber!" The man was so excited to talk with Saber.
"Can you show these men to the exit of the front?" asked Saber from the young boy.
Then, the 3 people walked out of the room, opening his door.
Then, the junior detective escorted them to the front.
Suddenly Barney stopped in his tracks. He slowly lifted his head and looked at his reflection from the window.
Instantly his eyes turned yellow. His pupils looked like horizontally slit shaped pupils.
He had a little smile on the corner of his mouth.
He turned away and quickly rushed along the hallway.
Saber, who was going to take off from the police station after a long time, decided to get a shot in the way.
All 4 of the detective team departed looking forward to their future missions.
