Sports Festival: Quirk'less'

Inside the infirmary, an ash blonde mother was sitting beside her son who has woken up from the beatings he just received.

"I'm now regretting not hammering manners into you" Mitsuki said as she looked at her son with a disappointed look.

Katsuki didn't respond but simply stared at the ceiling.

"Tell me...did you truly not think of the consequence of what you just did? Blasting that kind of attack towards the audience?" she asked, wanting to know her son's state of mind.

Katsuki who heard this only now realized what he just did, 'Tsk! I was played like a fool by that damn fox!' he thought while frowning.

Mitsuki who saw the scowl on her son's face was angered beyond belief, "Don't you think of blaming other people! You and your temper can only be blamed, always so easily provoked!"

Mitsuki already knew her son like the back of her palm, just by simply looking at him now, she knew that he was blaming someone already for how he acted.

"BUT TH-OUCH!" before he could even finish what he wanted to say; he was whacked in the head by his mom with a rolled newspaper.

"HERE YOU ARE AGAIN ABOUT TO SCREAM!", she roared just after hitting him.

*Slide~!*

However, before Katsuki could even retort back, Recovery Girl appeared as she pulled the curtains apart.

"Well...aren't you a lively lad for someone with the condition you're in" Recovery Girl said as she looked at the casts on Bakugo's arms and legs.

"Ah! Good day, Doctor Shuzenji!" Mitsuki greeted with a smile.

"Just call me Recovery Girl considering how everyone calls me that now" Recovery Girl said and she pulled out a sheet that probably contained Bakugo's current wellbeing.

"Well...how's my son?" she asked nervously, even Katsuki didn't say a word and was waiting for Recovery's answer.

"You will be able to live a normal life" Recovery said...allowing the teen to digest what she just said.

'Normal...normal!?' Bakugo's mind at this point was racing and his breathing became ragged.

"Recovery Girl, would you mind going into further detail?" Mitsuki asked as she tried comforting her son if what she assumed of what 'normal' is.

"haah...Using your quirk is not advisable anymore; your limbs will slowly worsen if you do so" Recovery Girl slowly said not wanting to overload her patient.

"W-WHAT DO YOU MEAN!?" Katsuki asked with bloodshot eyes with tears threatening to fall; he couldn't imagine living the life of normalcy!

"The bones within your limbs are riddled with fractures, even with my quirk it won't bring it back to its peak state once again" Recovery explained.

"What about his career path to becoming a H-Hero?" Mitsuki stuttered; feeling nervous for the answer even though she already knew.

"With what your child did...I'm afraid his path to becoming a Hero will almost be impossible. Even if he could recover to perfect health, his image is ruined" Recovery said as she shook her head.

Katsuki, who had been listening till his previous outrage, already had tears dripping and was gritting his teeth in anger.

"This is the best outcome for all, not unless you want dozens of lives under your head due to your reckless act" there was a cold glint within Recovery Girl's eyes as she said that; she is both thankful for Kaga protecting the stands and stopping the teen in front of her from ever becoming a Hero.

Recovery Girl has secretly hated these types of Heroes; the kind who does not mind their surroundings and let the innocent become the collateral.

AN: What I mean is that R.G. hates heroes who prioritize fighting and not minding where they are. Take Endeavor vs Nomu as an example, he could have beaten the Nomu earlier. But, he instead took the fight high above in the sky to eliminate it. (Canon and Anime)

The moment Recovery Girl brought up the topic of Katsuki's actions; it was like cold water was poured over them.

"I don't mean to offend, but you have been constantly worrying about your future as a Hero and not about your actions that placed you here. Are you sure you have the right attitude to be a Hero?"

Recovery Girl said as she looked at the mother and son duo coldly.

"And do you even know the reason as to why you are in this current mess of yours?" Recovery asks.

Katsuki hearing the questioning was immediately angered, "IT WAS THAT DAMN BITCH'S FAULT! I'LL FUCKING END HER!"

Recovery Girl looked at Katsuki with disgusts hidden in her aged eyes; turned towards Mitsuki with a look that says 'Is this how you raised your son?'

Mitsuki clearly knew the look that Recovery was giving her; she was questioning her skills as a parent.

"I-I'm sorry for my son's behavior!" she said all the while pinching her son's ear harshly.

Recovery plainly raised her hand with a sign to stop, "A word of advice. Do not throw threats when you do not know the dangers that you're provoking, your family could get involved"

As the battered teen heard this he quickly calmed down; Katsuki might be hot-headed but he knows when to retreat...though he retreats when the damage is already done.

Recovery left as she said that; she wanted the teen to remember what he's trying to threaten.

The room was now left to the mother and son duo to their thoughts and silence.

"Katsuki, as a parent I am disappointed with your actions but I and your father are also at fault for how you turned out to be. And regarding your future...let's talk about it when we get home"

Bakugo didn't answer back; he was simply at a loss for words.

[Momo's POV]

"What to do, what to do, what to do~..." I said to myself as I paced around the waiting room, probably waiting for my impending doom.

'She regenerates so I don't think a gun has much effect on her...and she moves faster than I can so targeting her will be a different matter entirely.

What happens if I get hit? I can't just keep creating reinforced steel...I'd run out of lipids! Sleeping gas could work...though she just needs to slap it away with the wind pressure she creates...ARHHH!'

*Knock* *Knock*

I was pulled out of my mulling when knocks came through the door.

"hah...Enter!"

*Click*

"Yaomomo! How's your prep doing!?" the cheery pink girl with horns aka Mina Ashido asked.

"Well, there's not much I can do to prepare my fight against Himiko. At first, I thought I had a chance at beating her; however, seeing her pound those Zero-Pointers was something else entirely."

"Well, what have you thought of so far~?"

"I don't know...types of gasses and weapons that could work on her? However, no matter which thing I wanted to create, it all boils down to the raw strength that Himiko has." I said dejectedly and plopped to the bench.

"Don't be such a downer! Just dance your way through the problem...or in your case create through the problem, I guess?" Mina said as she danced around Momo happily; maybe to spread the happiness around?

As Momo heard this she immediately hugged Mina, which flustered the pinkette for the sudden contact!

"Of course! Why didn't I think of that! I should have of course created something new instead of the things I currently have!" with Mina's words even though they weren't much, I was somehow able to get enlightened!

"Eh? Uhmmm...you're welcome?" Mina could only give a confused smile; she didn't think that simple words could have helped her friend.

"Now...go! I have to prepare, I only have a few more minutes till my match with Himiko starts." I said as I excitedly pushed her out of the room.

"Awwww~ But I wanted to see, good luck anyway!" she said as I closed the door to make a quiet space for myself.

Unbeknownst to me, my pink-colored friend's appearance started to morph out of her current form and casually skipped along the halls while humming to her self-made tune.

AN: To those that forgot, Himiko acquired a shapeshifter quirk from Kaga...sooo yeah
