Chapter 4

Without I realized, it has become a routine for me to go to the cafeteria when the clock hit 1 p.m. Today was not an exception. To be honest, if it was up to me, I would never set my foot at the crowded place in WPU. It just, every time I stepped inside, I instantly could feel the angry eyes on me, making me felt I was walking on the thin ice. The fear that they would do something to humiliate me was too much until it suffocated me. The feeling was so intense until sometimes I just wanted nothing but to run away from them. That was how I always felt, to tell the truth.

The only reason why I could still coming here as nothing happened just because of Luna. If it wasn't because of her, I probably hiding in the library. As soon as I spotted Luna, a relief breath unknowingly escaped my mouth. This was my everyday life.

"Hi", I greeted with a wide smile while taking a seat in front of Olivia.

"Hi".

They greeted me back cheerfully, as usual.

"How's your Business class?", Luna asked me.

She knew I was struggling with this class because I told her that I wasn't too enthusiastic when I had to take it this semester. It just, Business had never been my thing.

"I have nothing to say besides wishing you all the best. Mr White was so evil. How the hell he gave me an extra class just because I was late on that day? Can you believe it? Not to mention having quizzes every week and a lot of assignments. His class is hell! He is from a hell!", Olivia spat angrily.

"The class is just fine. He isn't that bad", I unconsciously defended my lecturer.

"Isn't that bad? He is the worst! That evil lecturer!", Olivia whined.

"Mr White dotes on a brilliant student. So, Hanna will be fine", Nicholas said.

"Nick is right. Mr White has a soft spot for a brilliant student. Hanna will never get into trouble because of him", of course, Violet agreed with Nicholas.

Then, she turned her head towards me and gave a smile. I smiled back gratefully.

"Wait, a minute. So, Mr White was being a jerk towards me and turned my third semester into hell because I'm not a top student? I can't believe this!", Olivia looked at us with disbelief.

"I'm the one who can't believe you. Do you remember the real reason behind your hell-third-semester life? You are the one who didn't turn in your extra class when you promised to be there. You are the one who made your third semester in hell. Don't you remember that?", Luna asked her with an I-can't-believe-you face.

"Am... Am I?", Olivia asked with a small voice.

"Yes, you are. Do you know where you disappeared on that day? This...", Luna shoved her index finger right in front of Luke's face.

I could see the fear in Luke's eyes.

"This person... You ditched your extra class and went on a date with this person on that day", Luna said to her.

"How an innocent man like me get dragged into this?", Luke asked, confused with the sudden turn of event.

All of them burst into laughter. Even I couldn't help but laugh at his innocent question although there were people who seemed didn't interested in Luke's naive face.

Chase just shrugged his shoulder and James just kept quiet. He would not say something if the topic wasn't about Chase. He was trying hard to imitate Chase's cold face although he was desperately wanted to let out a fit of laughter.

As for Asher, he just being himself, showing his uninterested face over the topic, as usual.

"Hey, guys. I see you are lively as ever, huh"

The sound of our laughter was suddenly died down in an instant. I looked up only to see an unfamiliar man took a seat beside me.
