CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

She smiled as she stood still in front of me with tears in her eyes, she still looked the same even after years of not seeing each other; her hair was a dull red and her eyes were a darker shade than mine. We looked so alike that others mistook us for twins. But we had no relation whatsoever.

She was there when the beast of a man brought me to his house, but she managed to escape with the help of her uncle leaving me behind. Back then I was too young to wonder why she left me, but as I stood before her and her before me, I could not help but blame her for everything, if only she had not left me. None of this would have happened.

“You’ve grown” she stated sniffing, I offered her a small smile not knowing what she wanted me to say. I thought she was going to say something sweet, but what came out of her mouth made me tense in my spot as men in black suits barged in and aimed the famous Malien guns at me “Restrain her”
