Chapter 10 - A Big Event Begins

Two days came and went pretty quickly.

During this time, Xin Jin, Luo Mei and Han Yi spent quite a lot of time touring the city, going out to eat, and playing games at home. Truly the dream life Xin Jin could only fantasize about previously.

The auction at The Imporium will be taking place around 4 in the afternoon today, So Xin Jin Decided to call over Han Yi to where he was practicing.

"Brother Jin?" she asked curiously

"Hold still." He said with a smile before putting 2 fingers to her forehead and injected some Spirit energy into her body.

The Spirit energy swirled around in her body momentarily before dissipating, since Han Yi had no foundation in cultivation yet.

'Can you scan her and see if she has anything special about her?' he asked the System.

[Sure, give me a few hours and I'll give you a full report.]

Xin Jin wondered why it would take so long for an all powerful system but, it wasn't really his place to judge the difficulty, right?

"I was just curious about something. It's okay." He said reassuringly while patting her on the head.

"Ooh, okay" She said with a big smile, knowing Xin Jin wouldn't lie to her. Whatever was going on was most likely a good thing for her.

After tea, The trio headed out to the Abundant Treasures Imporium for the auction that was about to take place in the same fashion as previously. Xin Jin in the middle, Luo Mei on the right, Han Yi on the left.

Before long they arrived at the main door where an aide directly stepped up to lead them to their private booth.

However, just as they were making their way towards the door to their booth, a young man with dark hair and eyes, a narrow gaze, like a weasel, and had a haughty expression came around a corner.

He wore bright red robes with white flames on it and a black gold token on his waist that said 'Holy Dragon Fire', obviously the name of a sect.

"Out of the way, Knave." the Sect Disciple said with a sneer and a voice full of disdain.

However, his attitude took a turn for the worse when he noticed the beautiful Luo Mei and Han Yi on either side of Xin Jin, making him jealous and outraged.

"You-!" However, before he could say anything, Gu Ling appeared

"Apologies for making you wait, Young Master Xin." Said the older woman politely

"Ah, It's no matter. I was able to see a dancing monkey along they way." He said while smirking without looking at the young man from the sect.

When the young sect member saw this he barely held in his rage. He knew how powerful this woman from the Gu family was. Even though Sky City can be considered a relative backwater with only a few hundred thousand people in this world of cultivation, the Gu family is widespread and much respected.

If madame Gu Ling was personally escorting this young man, he wouldn't be able to retaliate. At least not yet. That doesn't mean he can't talk to a few friends.

"Young Master, who did that weakling think he was to look down on you, the highly respected Young Master Huo, Son of the Holy Dragon Fire Sect Master?" Said one of his guards

"Yeah, we should teach him to watch his mouth in public." said the other.

"No." said young master Huo "We don't know who he is, or what his backing may be. Do a thorough investigation first. If he's a nobody, Kill him dead." He added with an Icy glint in his eye.

It would appear from his casual order of someone's death that this was only just another day for this arrogant Young Master.

"Heheheh....Yes Young Master." They both smiled maliciously

Meanwhile, Xin Jin and the others had just entered their private booth to watch the auction. there were snacks, sandwiches, wine and alcohol were also present.l

"The Mistress, who wishes to meet afterwards, has ordered that you be given anything you want. And if anything in the auction should be of interest to you or the ladies, you need only ask the attendant outside." Gu Ling said humbly

"Thank You, Auntie Gu." He replied with a pleasant smile.

After which Gu Ling left.

Xin Jin and Luo Mei found a couch to sit on, while the latter poured a glass of expensive looking wine for Xin Jin, Han Yi curiously looked at all the items in the private booth. From crystal glasses and cutlery, to even the rugs.

"Wow! It's all so fancy!" She exclaimed enthusiastically

At this moment, the lights on the stage dimmed and a beautiful blonde woman with bright green eyes, an adorable pout on her luscious lips and wearing a stunning and form fitting emerald green dress appeared.

Xin Jin motioned for Han Yi to sit next to him.

She of course took the opportunity to hug his arm tightly as they all watched the beginning of the auction.

"Thank you all for coming on this most special of nights." Said the hostess

"We have all sorts of rare and unseen treasures. Some of which may even leave some of our guests here tonight gasping." She said with a smile and a slight laugh

The confidence in her voice caused a few whispers to make their way through the auction hall.

After this, a servant carrying a silver tray on which a small bottle made of almost transparent white Jade that contained a number of small white-yellow pills.

"Our first item of the night is a bottle of 8 level 2 Spirit Gathering Pills." The female host introduced "The starting price will be 500 gold with increments of 50 when increasing the bid."

The bidding didn't start out very fierce since the first few items being sold were decent but only that.

It wasn't until the second weapon to appear, a completely white sword that was engraved with ice flowers, came on stage that people began to liven up.

The moment Han Yi laid eyes on the sword, her eyes popped open like she was hit by electricity.

Xin Jin who saw this couldn't help but chuckle.

"You want it?" He asked teasingly

Han Yi turned to look at him immediately after hearing his question and nodded her head like a chick pecking at rice.
