CHAPTER 14

They didn't even remember my birthday. I am on the plane with Bartram, and I remember the last time we were with him. It was so much fun and he was the first person I met before I landed in Greece and he has never left my side. I did feel some hate towards them but I also wanted to know what was happening.

The plane didn't stop this time around and we arrived so late in the evening. I thought the security would refuse my passport but all that was taken care of. I didn't get blacklisted and I didn't get any discrimination whatsoever.

I don't know if I will find people in there or they even moved away. I go ahead and ring the doorbell from the gate. Bartram, assures me all is well and I sit and wait. There isn't any response and I ring it again.

Finally, someone has come to open, I see Alasdair and I can't help but cry. He is so excited to see me and he jumps to hugs me. I never expected this reaction from him. I thought he would see me and close the gate without letting me in or something of the sort. He lets me in and I ask Bart to follow me. He closes the gate and I walk towards the house. My dad is already out of the house and he is waiting for me to come close. He wore his elegant smile and he was so excited to see me. I don't even want to let him go, I have missed being in his arms. Alasdair is already having a chat with Bart and dad actually recognizes him.

I can't see Elsa and mom so I get in to see where they are. Bartram is left introducing himself and I should have been the one doing that. I find them in the living room and Elsa is bringing mom some soup since he is still not well. I am just so happy that my family is alive and we can treat mom later on. She is also glad to see me and says that she thought she had lost her only daughter. "The Ryan's family have made our life so hard and they have threatened us to the core. We were denied access to even come to visit you or take part in your ruling. They forced us to never be in contact with you since they would do away with you. I am just so glad that you are alive I don't know who or how they released you but I am so happy Eva" my mother says as she takes her soup. I introduce Bartram to them and told them that he was part of the team that stood by me.

They had already put the house for sale and we are moving to Italy since my dad had got a transfer. If I wouldn't have come back I wouldn't have found them. They would have forgotten that they had a daughter. My mom hasn't been well since two months ago when I was served a two-year sentence.

They are so happy and are even planning to hold a party for me once we are in Italy. I don't know what criteria they chose but Rome is just another city I am always in love with. My dad is really thanking Bartram for what he did together with my other friends.

I had really missed these people so much. I don't want to leave their sight again. Bartram is a good chef so he heads to the kitchen and is accompanied by Elsa and Alasdair. I have a talk with mom and dad, and they said mom was doing better. They were to move to Italy earlier but her condition was really not so good. I really thank God she is doing so well. I don't know how I could have carried that guilt with me. I have had more than enough of it.

Bartram had some passion for cooking and he would be a very good chef. I knew he doe cook at their hotel and maybe he interacted with some professional chefs that taught him how to make delicious meals. My parents were afraid that he is a new boyfriend after all the mess that took place. After I told dad how we met on the plane considering we had met before at the hotel he believed me. I couldn't tell them he was gay, even though I knew it would relieve them because it wasn't my part.

As Bartram was going home to spend a night so we could depart tomorrow, he took me to Maritim's grave. I didn't have enough courage to face him but I needed to. My dad actually chose to drive us there. I found his grave covered with flowers. There were fresh ones that seemed to have been put just a while ago.

I said the last words to him and shed some tears.
