~Chapter Four~

Miki gasped as a tiny bullet torpedoed towards him.

White Gowned Man sneered. "Oh, Miki, Miki, Miki, goodbye."

Miki, desperate for the last of life, leaped backwards, barely dodging the fire.

"No! Kurai, shoot the frickin' kid!" White Gowned Man yelled.

"I'm trying!" Kurai shouted back, firing several more bullets. Miki dodged all of them, panting at every escape.

Miki felt a ripple through his back, feeling himself morph into the creature. A wolf. He did it.

"Wait!" White Gowned Man said.

Kurai halted his fire.

Before he could do anything, Miki felt a beginning of a snarl at his muzzle. He tried to fight back the vicious instincts but couldn't. Miki growled, and leaped onto Kurai. His teeth hit his warm flesh, blood searing his fangs.

Kurai screamed.

"Stop it! Kill him! Kill the kid!" White Gowned Man screamed at Kurai.

Miki jumped off of Kurai. Blood dripped, mixed with his slaver pouring down his jaws.

Miki spotted the door, creaked open. *YES!* He thought excitedly.

Miki ran towards it, dodging the doctor that was chasing him frantically.

Miki's heart lurched as he ran through the halls in his wolf form, his tail riding the wind behind him. Suddenly alarms screamed, the halls turning a red glow.

Miki's ears shrieked, but he kept running.

*Run. Run home.* Shaky with perseverance, he sprinted on, determined to hit the solid earth floor.

"Get him! Grab him!" Miki's heart froze as the White Gowned Man yelled.

Men emerged, guns in hand, suits in camo pattern.

Miki leaped and crouched all of them. His body quivered in relief as he saw the door to escape open.

Miki let out a menacing growl. *I'm coming!* He shouted in his mind.

Suddenly a body appeared. Akito.

*Why am I seeing this? Akito's dead.* Miki, held out by seeing his brother, escaped from reality. Dizzy with confusion and grief, he staggered sideways.

"Why'd he stop?" A man's voice dragged Miki back to reality.

Miki gasped. He had stopped running.

"Who cares? Grab him!" A man lurched towards Miki. Miki turned, rolling desperately, trying to dodge the figure.

He felt clawing hands grab his pelt, dragging him up from his scruff.

"There we go." The man that was holding him sneered.

Miki stopped himself from panicking.

They dragged him into a cage, darkness swallowing him. Miki tried to change back to human but couldn't.

Miki thrust himself at the metal cage, finding it budge a little. He threw himself at the door, anxious for the escape. The metal opened, light poured in, half blinding him.

He ran out, panting in relief. Then the White Gowned Man came out of nowhere, gun in hand.

Miki felt pain sear his flesh as the bullet ran through him.
