Miki's sobs were choked out by sirens. Police and firetrucks emerged. Red lights blinded him.
Men raced out, mobs swarming around the house engulfed in flames.
"What's going on!" One shouted.
"Grab the body! See if he's breathing!" Men raced towards Akito.
"No! Don't touch him!" Miki cried, standing in front of him.
The men pushed him away. "Get out!" One shouted at him.
Miki's face stained with tears and blood, backed away.
A man turned to face him. "No! Don't go that way. We need you alive!"
"Grab the boy! Don't let him go! He's the only one!" Men ran up to Miki, grabbing his arms.
"Let me go!" Miki screamed at them, trying to get rid of their grasp.
"Shut up, kid! Get in the truck." A police officer emerged, his hands filled through with a gun.
"Get in the truck, kid."
Miki turned to answer, his eyes burning with rage as hot as the fire.
"Get in the truck." The police faced his gun towards Miki's head. Miki swallowed, obeying his rules, not struggling against their grasp.
Miki woke up in a white room, his wrists tied in rope, his clothes torn. *The fire...* He thought. He arose, looking around. A big mirror hung from the empty walls, reflecting the sun. Miki looked at his reflection in it, finding himself blood drenched. Soot stained his face, spots black as night. If there wasn't soot, the spots left off from it were bloodied, scarlet.
Miki heard footsteps approach. He gasped, memories of the men stabbing him with a syringe. They drugged him.
"Come with me." A booming voice came from outside the door.
Miki looked for an escape, finding nothing in his desire. Miki had no choice but to follow.
*Stay. Calm* He warned himself.
A man opened the door, grabbing Miki's wrist before Miki had a look at him. But all Miki saw of the man's face was a black mask covering all but his eyes. The eyes looked dangerous, amber and creepy.
"Here he is." The man with amber eyes shoved Miki into a chair.
"Good, good." A tall, white gowned man with a clipboard sat on the other side. "So, Miki Gliten, is it?"
Amber Eyes shoved a gun in Miki's face. Miki forced down his quivers of panic and simply nodded.
"Ah, yes. Now, boy, show me." White Gown Man stood up, taking out a syringe.
"S-Show you what." It was the first time Miki had heard his own voice aloud.
"Do you need me to kill you?" White Gown Man rose his brows.
Amber Eyes pointed his gun at Miki's head, his finger just barely triggering the bullet.
"Show me your transfigure. Do it now." White Gown Man shouted at him.
Miki's heart stopped. They knew. They knew he could change. They knew he was different.
"Do it. NOW." White Gown Man repeated. Amber Eyes drew closer, his gun inches away.
Miki tried. He tried to transform. He tried not to be killed. But he couldn't turn into a wolf. No matter how hard he tried.
"I'm done. Do it." White Gown Man scowled at Miki.
Miki's heart leaped as Amber Eyes shot the bullet.
