~Chapter Eight~

Miki stood in horror at the chip in his neck. They implanted it in me. I can't go anywhere, they'll hunt me down. I'll die. Miki's breath trembled, his eyes watered.

Men suddenly scattered in the halls. "Bring him with the others." A gruff voice sounded.

"No...." Miki froze, cornered.

"We do this the hard way or the easy way, kid." A man in a military suit emerged, his hands held out.

"Why-" Miki didn't finish. The men grabbed him by his shoulders, their clutch like steel.

Miki blinked against the glaring sun beating down on him. The men shoved him in a sort of arena, gates surrounding it.

*That scared of me, huh.* He thought, walking away from the gates into the center. He came to a sudden stop as he heard voices, figures flashing by him.

"Get out." One shouted, racing by him, the face hidden by a hoodie. He heard a swift movement flash by him. Growls erupted the air.

Something leaped on him, eyes fierce with anger. The thing slashed at his face, the taste of copper running into Miki's mouth.

"Get off!" Miki panted, flinching against it. He closed his eyes, feeling his form morph into a wolf. Miki growled, his lip curled in a snarl. He suddenly noticed what had mauled him was a brown bear, it's eyes suddenly wide with surprise.

Behind the bear stood a lynx, an owl perched on it's shoulder. The bear turned into a human.

"You're one of us." He said.

The lynx and owl morphed back into human.

"Yeah, idiot. Check out the person before you maul them." A girl said. Her hair was silver. Like the lynx.

Miki blinked. Who are these people? Are these the others?
