Mind Reading

Noah panicked and stared at Kai in disbelief. The ability of Rene has never failed, how many superhumans are there amongst ordinarily people? He didn't expect to encounter a extreme powerhouse and his ability were useless against Kai.

Noah turned and ran, Kai waved his hand and the lab door shut closed. Not long after, Kai's body moved and in a flash several people fell to the ground stunned.

Afterwards, Renes's power blocking disappeared.

In fact, his ability did not failed but because it was too weak. Kai's telekinesis, freezing, etc we're valid but Human torch's ability is stronger then Rene's ability so it was not affected.

This ability must be his!

Kai looked at Rene used mind control and just like Kira, he modify his memory. He can't devour his abilities now so he can only take Rene with him and wait till his body finished adjusting.

After he finish modifying Rene's mind, he release his mind control and let him erased the other peoples memory. He did not delete Noah's ability but just like Rene, he modify his mind.

(Alright, this is manipulating or altering the mind and not outright controlling it)

"Take me around the institute" Kai swims and Noah lead the way with Rene quietly following behind.

While walking around Kai couldn't help but look at a person.

A honest looking and so what fat man, His name is Matt, a policeman with the ability to read other people mind.

If he didn't interfere, after sylar killed Molly's parents. Matt happened to be responsible for the case and found Molly hiding. As a result, he suspected it was Sylar's doing and investigated it with the FBI. It's a good ability to know what other people are thinking but Matt later heard that his wife had an affair and even if he didn't want to listen, Kai could imagine how depressed he was.

"Give me a room to rest"

Kai intents to rest here today and Tomorrow he will Devour Matt's ability before leaving.

Noah arranged a room for Kai and he let Noah go but Rene was left behind. Kai was going to study the ability of blocking others ability.

The night passed quickly and the rain rose.

Kai woke up and felt his body in a good condition, he has fully integrated with the freezing and locating ability. He allowed Rene to turn his blocking ability and Kai tried to release his freeze ability to see if he could or not.

There was only a faint frost and ice residue on his hand. However, yesterday he couldn't even use it so after completely integrating the effects are much better.

From the room, Kai went straight to Matt.

Seeing Kai came over with Rene, Matt hurriedly shouted "Who are you? Why are you arresting me, let me go I am a police!"

"Don't worry, you will be released soon! But before that there are two things to do!" Kai said with a smile.

"What are you going to do"

"It's very simple, you can read minds right? You can try to read my thoughts" Kai looked at Rene and he deactivated his ability.

Matt looked at Kai and focus. After a moment he shook his head "No, I can't do it, it's like something blocked it!"

"How bout now?" Kai asked again.

Matt paused for a moment and said "You want to devour my ability?"

"It seems that the mental barrier of the reality ring can stop you mind reading. That is to say, your mind reading may not be effect for people with mental control unless they did not deliberately protect themselves. Well, it is a good ability!"

Kai didn't care about Matt's surprise and he wasn't afraid of him knowing his secret.

"Since you know, let's get started"

Kai moved towards Matt and smiled. Matt was a little scared at first but quickly became quite. He had already hear what Kai was thinking so he knew that there was no danger, after he takes his ability Kai will let him go and delete his memory here.

Matt gave up resistance and the process of Devouring went very smooth.

It didn't take long for Kai to get his ability then deleted his memory.

Deleting memory's is not something only Rene can use.

With the ability of Matt, Kai did not stay here. He took Matt out and intent to bring Rene's people to his side. It was not to late to devour his ability until he leaves this copy plane.

Back at the town, Kai asked Rene to buy some food. Sitting in the car with a map in his hand ready to locate Sylar. The ability has just been displayed when someone knocked on the window.

Kai turned to the window and saw someone outside.

A blonde woman with a happy expression smiling.

Rolling the window down Kai said with a smile "Claire, why are you here? Shouldn't you be at school?"

"I went to the hotel to find you but the owner said you weren't there, I didn't expect to find you here!" Claire said with a smile.

'Great, I thought I couldn't see you again!'

Two voices sounded at the same time which made Kai a little stunned. This should be the ability to read minds.

"Are you worried you will never see me again?" Kai asked with a smile.

Claure was stunned, she didn't expect him to guess what's in her thought. She hurriedly explain "I explain to father what happened but he didn't believe me. He said to stay far away from you but your my friend and my benefactor so I still wanted to express my gratitude personally. Do you have time? I want to invite you to dinner!"

"Say yes! Say yes! Say yes!"

Looking at Claire's nervous expectations and listening to her thoughts, Kai smiled and nodded "Of course, but I'll be inviting up you!"
