Demoness?

Divine's blood was pooled into a rather large puddle on the ground. The Skeleton mage continued to run away, which severely annoyed her. Though, now she had the means to kill it.

Divine dashed forward, her sword once again wrapped in its sheathe to be used as a blunt instrument. The mage effortlessly (and quickly) moved out of her swings trajectory, but Divine smirked as she twisted her empty hand.

A small pillar of blood slammed into the skeleton's bony ankle, and he fell, rather unceremoniously, to the floor. Divine used blood magic to trip him. His bones made a unique hollow clicking noise as they clattered against the stone ground. Giving him no time for recovery, Divine rushed over and... mercilessly beat the skeleton while he was down. She swung her blunted sword, kicked, and even punched him. The poor skeleton could do nothing as Divine vented her extreme wrath upon his small skeleton body.

After a few seconds worth of a beating, Divine stood straight up and reattached her sword to her hip. Giving the de-animated skeleton one last glance, she spit on his corpse and sat down. She intended to rest until she was fully healed.

Eventually, Divine stood up and continued further into the temple. The stairs leading downwards were extremely dark, but that didn't bother her whatsoever. They seemed to spiral, and Divine walked for what felt like the better part of an hour. Eventually, she entered into a small room. There was a lingering black fog that seemed to create a hazy effect. It lightly obscured the surroundings, making it seem extremely eerie.

Divine watched with careful, narrowed eyes. She wasn't sure what was down here, but it couldn't be very good. Suddenly, Divine rolled to her right, as a humanoid creature slammed into the ground. Clicking her tongue, she stood back up and pulled her sword, intending to use it as a club once again.

The enemy was difficult to detect because it was clinging to the ceiling. Divine barely managed to dodge in time, no doubt thanks to her new and improved vampire hearing. The creature itself was slightly taller than Divine. It summoned a scythe made of bones and looked at her coldly. It's entire body was cloaked in the same shadows that permeated the room. It's actual body was that of a thin, blackened, almost charred skeleton. It's ominous glowing red eyes pierced into her soul. It looked extremely terrifying.

Divine dashed forward and slammed her sword into the creature. The creature itself was knocked prone, but as soon as she made a second move, shadows began leaking out, engulfing the entire room, and mere moments afterwards, she could see nothing. This was a darkness formed entirely of magic, and thus, only the creator could see through it.

A piercing pain rang out as Divine was slashed across the back. She quickly whirled around and struck out with her sword, but she felt nothing. Inwardly she frowned. She began trying to focus on smell, hearing or anything that could help, but as the seconds began to pass by, Divine was getting nowhere. She just kept getting slashed. None of them were grievous wounds, but it still hurt like hell.

After getting slashed enough, Divine was starting to get angry. Mana began to swirl around her form, and light began to shine from her eyes and mouth. She held it for a few seconds, awaiting the slash that took way longer than normal, but eventually she felt it slash into the right side of her torso. She immediately released her spell and the darkness was evaporated, as was the skeleton, and anything else that may have been in the room. Divine collapsed onto her knees, panting. Her eyes and mouth were bleeding profusely. Her body was littered with elongated gashes. Some were deeper than others, but none were fatal. She lamented her fate. 'Alas, if only I had brought a priest with me.'

.....

Layla looked towards Silver hesitantly. "Why are you so interested in guilds all of a sudden?"

Silver smiled at her question. Her voice was carefree and curious. "I was merely curious. I haven't learned the current state of this game, and would like to know more. You're the most knowledgeable person I know, so I contacted you."

Layla outwardly smiled, but inwardly she blanched. 'Just curious about the game? No. There is definitely more.' Layla continued. "Well, currently, Gore is set to release a game-to-outside world currency exchange. This'll push the number of interested parties sky high. Your battle videos are extremely popular online. I believe people have started calling you by a nickname." Layla paused here and gave an amused smirk. "They call you 'The Brutal Demoness'."

Silver paused. She never really cared about people's views of her. However, this reputation might bring her more entertainment in the long run, so it wasn't the worst deal. Silver smiled and laughed lightly. "It's not so far off really. Brutal Queen would've been my preferred choice, but to each their own. I have another question, though...." Silver paused and smiled. "What would you do with a Guild Token?"

Layla thought about it for a long time before she answered. "Right now? I would do nothing with it. I can get the funds, and putting together the people isn't so hard. I have a few in mind. The problem is choosing and acquiring a building, or a 'Guild Hall' if you will. They're far more expensive than the guild registration fee."

Silver thought for a moment. She wanted to choose her next words carefully. Eventually, she spoke. "Layla, I have a guild token. I absolutely will not join a guild. Even if you're running it. However, I am willing to partner with your future guild, and even grant you this guild token. I have no interest in guilds, or cultivating a following. What I am interested in, is the mayhem of guild wars. I'm willing to help your guild out whenever you might need assistance with war or battling. I'll even save your members if they're getting ganged up on. However, I've grown rather curious about professions. So if, or when the time comes, I'll need access to the rarer types of materials."

Layla nodded. She figured this might be the case. Silver was offering her the deal of a lifetime, really. She knew there had to be a catch to this. So she asked: "What's the catch?"

Silver replied with a smile as she spoke. "If your guild gets out of hand and abuses their power, then I'll tear it apart, piece by piece."

Layla smirked and held out her hand for a handshake. Silver took her hand. As they shook hands, they both spoke aloud.

"Deal".
