In the end, that's all it was to her, a prison. At least being in this one was somewhat enjoyable. Lauren Solivar, AKA Silver Moon, was used to being in prisons. Their modus operandi was always the same, restricting freedom.
Her thoughts were suddenly cut off when she slammed into someone, hard. Her body collided with someone else and she fell face-first onto them.
The person in question timidly spoke. "Uh..uhm, are you alright." The voice was weak and sounded young.
Silver hurriedly stood up and held a hand out. "Apologies, I don't usually walk while I'm lost in thought."
Before Silver was a young girl, she couldn't be older than 16. Her hair was a gorgeous black and tied into a cute ponytail. She clutched a dainty black staff in her hands. Her eyes were a deep red.
Something in Silver's mind screamed, ached to hold her. She resembled her so closely...her deceased daughter, Luna.
Luna was always the daintier, more reserved type. Her twin sister, Kara, was the louder of the two. She would often get into fights with bullies. She had never lost one and won praise from her mother each time.
Even through the haze of memories that threatened to swallow her thoughts, she remained standing, her eyes rapidly shifting between green and red. She was struggling to control the roiling emotions. Her vampiric nature was struggling to consume the raging feelings.
The girl's expression changed into one of confusion. "M..Mom.?"
Something in Silver snapped. Her mind was a chaotic mess now. That one word had confirmed it, and her entire being was shaken to its core.
She crouched down and grabbed the girl, holding her as tightly as she could. Fearing that the world would take her away again. Silver cried, right there on the streets of Starhelm.
.....
It had taken half an hour for her mania to settle down. She led the girl to the Inn and sat her down. The girl herself was protesting the whole way, but she didn't physically fight it. Silver had not even asked her name.
Silver sat in front of the young girl, who looked around awkwardly. After a few moments of strange silence, the girl spoke. "Ah..uhm...I'm... Luna.."
Silver just looked at her with the strangest expression on her face. Love, confusion, and happiness all coalesced to make the most unreadable expression.
After an even longer moment of silence, Silver spoke. "I'm...Silver Moon, in the game."
For the first time in her life since meeting her former husband, Silver was flustered. How could she not be? This HAD to be her daughter, she even called her "mom"!
Silver gulped and spoke. "Y..You called me...Mom on the street..?" Her voice was almost begging for it to be real.
Luna looked around embarrassingly. "Uhm..yes. You just..look a lot like her." There was a deep pain in her voice, and she wavered to say more...
Silver asked hurriedly. "W..would you mind telling me her name..?" The words were choked out, her voice unsteady as she spoke again. "I..I don't mean to be hasty or pry...You just..look a lot like my daughter, and...She's...gone."
Luna's expression softened. "Lauren Solivar... Her name is Lauren Solivar."
Silver was shocked. Her mind rapidly produced theories that greatly varied. From: 'Is this a hallucination? Did they put her here? For what purpose? How is she even here right now?' To: 'This isn't real, it can't be. How? Why?!'
Her voice broke. She almost started crying again, almost. "I...That's my..name. Is your sister..here?"
Luna was stunned. Her body shook and she silently cried. Silver got up and moved to her side of the table, pulling her into a warm embrace. "Shh..it's okay. I'm here darling...It's okay." Luna's sobs deepened, and Silver held her daughter for the first time in five years.
It was five years since she last held her daughters. Five years of fighting and running, only to be caught, tortured, and experimented on. Then be thrust into a game of fantasy and magic. Now, trapped in that game, her daughter has suddenly appeared, looking like she barely aged.
Silver stroked her daughter's hair lovingly. The sensation felt so real. She was struggling to come up with any answers. She had no idea how any of this was possible.
Luna backed away from her and looked at her. "Kara, I haven't been able to find her...I only awoke here yesterday.."
Silver looked confused. "Y.you woke up here? How? Darling, this is a game.."
Luna looked embarrassed. "I..I thought it was one of those reincarnation novels, or transmigration ones I used to read."
Silver chuckled, smiling sweetly. "This is a game, and it really is me here. Did it let you pick a class and everything?"
Luna nodded in response. "Mhmm. It let me make my 'avatar' too. I chose 'Dark Priest'.
Silver nodded thoughtfully. "I see..wait, you made yourself?"
She nodded. "Of course. I picked out the height, hair color, the eyes. Oh, it made me a vampire though, so the pretty blue and green eyes I chose didn't matter in the end." She sounded dejected.
Silver paused. She had a few ideas as to what was happening now. 'They put her in the game, but how? Is this an attempt to placate me in some way?' She looked to Luna "Can you log out?"
She shook her head. "No, there's no function for that. I already looked."
Silver nodded. She expected that. Her mind was full of happiness she never thought would return. 'I guess I should just take this at face value then...I have no other choice. My daughter is here, and I couldn't be happier.'
Despite it all, Silver would not give up on her revenge, but she had a few ideas now. The first was to power-level her daughter, and then tell everyone in her small group of friends.
Silver turned to Luna. "You want to level up with me?"
Luna looked embarrassed. "Oh..sure..?"
A party request popped into her view and she happily accepted.
