Re-evaluation

Now that the new employees have been recruited, Nile was pretty confident about the guild operations. He prepared all the beast corpses and beast cores to send them to the DoA office.

He set out for the new DoA office with two of his subordinates. Several vehicles were loaded with beast corpses ranging from C rank to A rank. He saved the S rank beast corpses for his own auction house even though he got permission to sell them.

As they drove off from the city square, a dark sedan followed their fleet of trucks. The followers kept a safe distance from them so Nile and his subordinates didn't notice anything strange.

After a while, they reached the new DoA office. It was a couple of miles south of the central city square. It was a newly constructed building made by advanced users. That's why it took less than a week for them to finish it.

Nile got out of the car and walked towards the main gate. Due to the recent incident, the security was high and vehicles were not allowed inside the premises.

He showed them his license and they nodded.

" These two are my subordinates." Nile pointed his fingers backward.

The guards opened the door and let them in. The inside of the office complex was not organized but there was a lot of work going on. He noticed that there were a lot of users walking around the office.

He entered the building and the smell of freshly coated paint entered his nose. It was a special type of paint made from beast corpses. It was almost soundproof and a good insulator. It also blocked other types of radiation so that no one could spy from the outside.

'That's some high-grade paint. They really poured a lot of money into this.' Nile was impressed as he looked around the hall.

He approached the reception table and smiled at the new receptionist who was a middle aged gentleman wearing an all black suit.

" I'm here to register a hunt and get compensation. We also have several beast corpses we'd like to sell."

The receptionist looked at the name on the license.

" Mr. Brooks, is it? Thank you for staying patient with us. We recently received a devastating loss, so to organize everything back required more effort so our other operations were halted temporarily. Hope you can understand." The receptionist said in an apologetic voice.

"It's fine really. I was deeply saddened by the news. Mr. Martin was a good friend of mine, so I really want to know what happened to him." Nile was genuinely sad about his death. But he couldn't say anything about the incident.

" Likewise. Now follow me, we will evaluate the cores and give you the compensation. as for the beast corpses, you can deposit them after the beast cores have been verified."

Nile ordered one of his subordinates to bring the vehicles inside the premises. The receptionist gave him a clearance pass for the vehicles. Still, they would be checked by the security before they let them in.

Nile followed the receptionist and soon arrived at the testing room. He came here many times before for registering beast cores.

After they entered the testing room, he signaled the subordinate who was carrying a large suitcase. The subordinate nodded to him and placed the suitcase on a table and opened it.

The suitcase was filled with many beast cores. It was eye catching to see so many beast cores in a single place.

Two officials came to the table and picked one beast core. They put the beast cores inside the testing machine.

" B rank beast core, with water properties." One said as he typed something on the screen.

" A rank beast core, with water properties." The other officials also started typing something on his tab.

Their faces showed clear surprise but they continued testing all the beast cores. After testing all the beast cores, their faces were drenched in sweat.

" 132 B rank beast cores. 71 A rank beast cores." One of them said stutteringly.

The receptionist also had a surprised look on his face. He gulped and looked at Nile.

" You hunted all those beasts yourself?" He asked with uncertainty.

" That's right. Also, I want a re-evaluation of my rank. You see, I've gained a lot during the past month." Nile smirked.

" Alright, we will give you a proper re-evaluation."

The receptionist took Nile to the User testing chamber. The monolith was in the middle of the chamber and the officials around it were evaluating a user.

" Damn! only a C rank." The user stomped his leg and clenched his fist.

" Sir! Now that the evaluation is complete, please collect your user license." One of the evaluators reminded the man.

The receptionist told the evaluators about Nile and his re-evaluation. After clearing the place, they asked Nile to stand in front of the monolith.

Nile stood there looking at the monolith with a grin on his face.

' Today is the day. I will show all of them that I am not weak anymore.'

He spread out his palm and touched the monolith. It lit up and showed his status window.

"A rank user! level 80 at that." The evaluator said out loud.

There were two ways the rank of users was evaluated. One was their level and the other was their highest skill rank. The users who got their rank because of their levels were generally regarded as more powerful than those who got it just for their skill rank.

Usually, newly awakened users get their rank based on their skills as their rank tends to be lower. The users who re-evaluate or had awakened for a long time tend to have higher levels.

But in Nile's case, he had A rank skill, and also his level was quite high, in the upper echelon of A rank. Even though his level was 80, his stats were close to S rank.

" Congratulations Mr. Brooks for achieving A rank." The receptionist said to him.

Nile smiled and retracted his hand.
