Chapter 9: The Forest Never Sees Dawn (Part III)
Pandora opened her eyes and the sky was still dark, or in other words, it should have been morning, but in Umbra Forest it was always nighttime, so there was never any sunlight. She went to check out the spider silk traps she had set up around them in case someone attacked while they were asleep. Suddenly something like the smell of blood flew into her nose, she immediately went to check and found a human body that had been cut into huge chunks of meat by her spider web, surrounded by many pieces of clothing and other furniture.
Judging from the victim's clothes that had been cut off, this person was wearing full body armor so she could roughly guess that this was one of the knights. He had randomly come here to catch them but accidentally got caught in a trap she made.
'Another unlucky person who lost his life here?' - Pandora
Looking at the corpse she felt a little creepy, although the last time she had destroyed an entire kingdom, this time standing directly near the corpse brought a feeling of disgust. Shaking her head slightly to get rid of those thoughts, she returned to the other two children. They both woke up from a good night's sleep, their expressions slightly surprised to see her.
"Father, you seem to have grown up right? I remember, you're only as big as an adult but why do I feel like you're bigger this time?" - Baal
"Really?"- Pandora tilted her head
She held out her hand and realized that her hand was also bigger than yesterday. Her hand yesterday was clearly the size of an adult male's, but now it's even bigger and longer, able to grasp an adult's head. The body has changed a bit, not only larger, but the shape has been adjusted to a perfect figure, the upper and lower waists are uniform, the waist is compact, and there is also a long tail.
'What happened to me, when did I become so big? There is no message board appearing, is there any error?'- Pandora
"Mother!"- Agares called out to Pandora
"What's wrong?" Pandora woke up from her thoughts
"Just now, you were like lost your mind? Are you tired?" - Agares worried
"No. I'm just thinking, we should move on." Pandora patted Agares' head.
Before leaving she turned to look at the corpse again, but strangely, it wasn't there. The armor and weapons were still there, but the corpses and blood were all gone. Pandora begins to doubt this forest. While she was sleeping, she was still able to be alert to everything around her, the presence of people who happened to appear in the middle of this forest, they intended to attack while she was sleeping but accidentally hit a trap. . But the strange thing was that the corpses, they had completely disappeared, could not be taken by wild animals as an excuse because that would leave traces.
Pandora can think of a possibility, absurd but convincing, that the corpses have been "eaten" by this forest. Although she didn't know how, but this could be true, she needed to verify it again to make sure her deduction was correct.
"Father, please slow down. Looks like there's a lot of people ahead." - Baal
"That's right." - Agares
She hugged the two children with her left hand and used
"Is that the girl we met last time? The one you saved from that disgusting man"- Baal
"Looks like there are more people in the cave. Shall we save them, Mother?" - Agares
The two children looked at her with eyes waiting for an answer, she didn't need them to tell her, she would do it anyway. Placing the two children on a branch, she clasped her hands together and stretched out the threads.
The girl began to feel exhausted but her mind would not allow her to do so, because she had to protect her younger brothers, even if it cost her life.
"Give up, you'll die anyway."
"I don't know how to judge yourself, just follow us and everything will be fine. But who would have thought that you stubbornly refused to accept it, leading to this end!"
The robber rushed over, the girl immediately closed her eyes to prepare herself for the damage.
But there was a strange sound, like the sound of a knife cutting meat, a thick liquid splashed on the girl's body, when she opened her eyes the robber was cut into three pieces. The other robbers were shocked and didn't understand what was happening when suddenly the silk threads wrapped around them and were suspended overhead.
"Did I say it? You've made my vision dirty." - Pandora
The girl saw a large figure landing on the ground, it was the one who saved her last time, Pandora's right hand was controlling the threads. Every time she moved her fingers, silk threads rubbed against the bandits' flesh, causing the wound to bleed.
Baal and Agares landed on the ground, the two children approached the girl, she guarded against them.
"It's okay, we'll heal you. Anyway, Father is already here, so there's no need to be on guard. Agares, hurry up and check if the people in the cave are injured?" - Baal
"Yes, big brother Baal!"- Agares
Listening to his older brother, Agares entered the cave and found there were three children there, two boys and a girl. The little girl was lying on the ground with a severe fever, so Agares took the potions Pandora had given her earlier, just in case something bad happened.
Outside Pandora looked at the bandits, although they had been gagged by her, they seemed to be trying to scream in pain. If she killed them now it would be easy but what she needed now was the information, for what reason did the old mage need to send both those with criminal records and the innocents who were forced to come here. She moved her finger to reveal a bandit's mouth.
"Hey, tell me. What's the main purpose here? Why mobilize so many people?" - Pandora
"It's to...is to...to find the lost relic...That old mage must be looking for...a palace in this accursed country. I heard.. .there are many precious treasures...especially magic...ancient"
"So how do we get out of here?" - Pandora
"Impossible...it can't be..."
"Why not?" - Pandora
"Don't you know...Once you're in here, it's definitely impossible to get out of here. Everyone will be trapped here until they die!!!"
