Ilyana slowly opened her eyes, the bright light hitting her face directly, making it pop up even more than it already has. Her lips parted slightly as she sat on the edge of the bed, a little groggy and clearly not fully awake yet. She was in a foul mood, her usual calm and composed demeanor replaced by a tense and agitated state.
After her concubine fell asleep, she spent the whole night tossing and turning, her mind plagued by thoughts of that damned system and the restrictions placed upon it. Ilyana took a deep breath, slowly letting the air envelope the outside world and washing away the useless thoughts. After all, it's just like what her master in her past life told her, 'The past shall bury itself in the deepest parts of hell, yet it shall rise like it was never been buried, when the sun luminesces the brightest.' which is basically just a fancy, almost computer generated way of telling her that the truth will always come to light so leave the past behind and live in the present.
The ruffled sheets moved along the wind as she lifted them up. She clasped her hands together as she stretched them upwards to fully wake herself. She lifted the soft blankets to fully cover up the half naked man sleeping beside her, a smile forming in her lips which vanished as soon as she remembered something important.
"Operate System."
The familiar sound of gears churning and metal clamoring was soon heard. Needless to say, it was the one thing she had been waiting for the past hours.
[Dear host, the penalty is officially over. Please avoid making similar mistakes that can automatically trigger system shut down.]
"Alright, alright. There's no need to nag me early in the morning." She took a deep breath and clicked her tongue in annoyance, her brows moving closer to each other in a downward way.
While she was lost in thought, waiting for the system to fully reboot, Ilyana's eyes fell to the God sculpted beauty beside her, sleeping soundly without any care in the world. She gently leaned in, slowly brushing her hand over his face, tucking in the scattered strands of hair in the pillow.
[Dear host, reboot is finally finished. You will automatically reconnect to your system. Thank you for your patience.]
After the reboot was completed, the air of silence was loud, the only thing that can be heard is the breathing sound of the beauty beside her along with her constant thumping with her index finger.
[Fuck!]
"Well, good morning to you too sweetheart. Although it's too early for such suggestive thoughts."
[Dear host, the system is expressing his disgust towards you, spitting in the floor. Wow, I have longed been informed that you're a little cray-cray in the head but, I didn't expect it was this bad. How can you even joke at times like these?!]
"Mother taught me that I should make people happy before their death, so they can bring good memories in the afterlife." Ilyana's stomach vibrated, her laughter echoed in the room and played a delightful melody.
[That's just a fancy way of saying you'll kill me, you cray-cray! Dear host, the system's mentality is decreasing in a stead fast speed. Please be aware that a system shut down after a recent violation can result to a temporary shut down of all functions including the store.]
Ilyana stopped laughing immediately as she shot daggers to the blue screen in front of her. The store is the only useful function of the system wherein one could buy materials, potions, equipments, books, and skills that could be of great assistance to her, without that, it's an utterly useless guide who deserves to be abolished.
"Hah, you're worse than that slave I picked up from the slums. Utterly useless, peace of garbage, waste of space-"
[Are you perhaps talking about yourself, you f-class trash! Dear host, the system is sticking its tongue out, pointing at your face while laughing like a maniac.]
"You have an amusing hobby, don't you sweetheart? of getting to my nerves, that is." Ilyana sighed, crossing her leg over the other and staring at the screen with an odd, unreadable expression on her face.
"You're right sweetheart, it's not the time for jokes. I now understand that there are some sort of restrictions that shuts your huge trap whenever you try to talk, and that it can result to varying consequences like the system shut down recently. That means there are certain things that should be left unanswered and I shouldn't meddle in them anymore. In short, I should shut my damn mouth just like the system, isn't that right?" Her piercing gaze sent chills over the system behind the blue screen. Whoever is behind that screen sensed it already, she wasn't looking at whoever is behind the screen, but way beyond.
"I see, it was a warning, or rather a threat? I won't meddle anymore so loosen up, alright?" Ilyana's heart beat quickened, eyes flickering briefly towards the blue screen, as if looking directly at the soul hidden behind it before snapping back to look at her sleeping consort, slowly waking up from his slumber.
'For now.' She thought, a menacing smile slowly forming in her luscious lips.
