Lunch and Oasis

James took the bottle made from camel skin in which the water was stored.

He drank some water and poured some water into the clay container containing the meat, it was to clean the meat and other parts.

James gave the camel leather bottle to Jacob, who was eagerly looking for it to be passed on to him.

Jacob's throat was parched, so he slowly savored the water. Even though water is tasteless , for Jacob it tasted like honey.

James sighed when he looked at the last source of water they had at hand, drip down into his brother's mouth.

He moved on to the next part, that was purifying the poison on the meat. James took the special salt which his instructor had given him.

'Brother, what is the greenish substance you have in your hands', asked Jacob, piqued by curiosity of the substance's varied color.

'Well, this is a special salt which instructor Carl gave to me when he introduced me to this training spot and taught me to cook the scorizers after my first battle.

This salt removes the poison out of the meat of scorizers.', said James, continuing what he was doing.

Jacob was listening to James and was also reading the details shown by the discerning eyes inside his mind.

Before Jacob could finish examining the meat and the salt, his brother took the salt from a small clay container and sprinkled it inside the clay container, then he closed the lid and started shaking the container.

James opened the container and Jacob couldn't believe what he saw, the texture and the color of the meat had completely changed, and the water James poured into the meat for cleaning it had also disappeared.

Jacob observed the meat again.

then he dropped in some amount of oil and hung the container using a thick rope on a stick and started weaving signs to start a fire.

Jacob was observing everything James was doing and silently memorizing it as he was mesmerized and amused, seeing a chef in action.

Jacob never spent time to observe everything around him in his previous life and was never interested in cooking,

and all he knew to cook was to make instant ramen which was quite simple and if he needed anything else he just ordered it up online or went to a restaurant.

But this time, Jacob didn't want to be like that.

He wanted to do things he had never tried or did in his previous life, and cooking seemed fun to him,

'James, is it ready', asked Jacob hungry enough to grab the cooked sizzling hot meat out of the container for the smell which was coming out of the container was very tempting.

'Yeah, wait a minute I'll get it on the plate',said James and he took a plate and put some pieces of meat and a part of heart on the plate and gave it to Jacob.

The meat was sizzling hot and pink red in color , Jacob's mouth started to water, so he quickly digged in not caring a bit about hygiene.

'So, how is it ?',asked James ,who was starting to eat directly out of the container.

'It's tasty than anything that I have ever eaten so far. The food in our kingdom is a bit bland is it because it is hard for us to procure spices?',asked Jacob stuffing his mouth with the meat.

'Yes ,it is hard for our kingdom . But when they get it they sure get enough to last us for a month. That will be the only time we can get enough', replied James ,who was also stuffing his mouth with meat.

'Well, Jacob this is the last time we get to eat this meat ,

you made that pact with that beast and it's been a year till I started this training and Instructor Carl asked me to do finish my training when the salt he gave me gets finished and the salt that I used today is the last of what instructor Carl gave me,

so I guess we can't come here anymore, and if we had killed more scorizers ,maybe we could have taken some meat home though it won't taste the same ,so eat your fill ',said James giving some extra meat to Jacob.

After eating ,cleaning their hands and mouth using a cloth, they went on their way with the journey.

And after another two hours they reached their destination, the oasis.

It was filled with palm trees and strange plants.

'Water water , atlast ',said Jacob as he ran towards the spring of water in front of him.
