As Zhou Mengyao contemplated, the issue about the journey struck his mind.
"I pretty much have everything I need always with me so there should be no reason for me to prepare. I have to inform my grandfather that I will leave though."
Zhou Mengyao wondered around the place as he wanted to gain permission to leave. His grandfather will highly likely agree with him leaving but he only plans to ask for permission because of formalities.
So Zhou Mengyao goes to the main hall which is the place where one can mostly see and talk to the patriarch of the family.
"Greetings young master. The patriarch and the elders are currently having a meeting so no one is allowed to enter."
Outside the door of the main hall, the old Head Servant Zhou Chuntao blocked the way as the place is full of strong cultivators eyeing each other. The security is tight as the most important people of the family are currently inside the main hall.
"I see, so my grandfather is doing important stuff. You can just inform him that I plan to leave and hunt magical beasts, I will probably be back tomorrow."
"Alright, I will take note of it."
The Head Servant nodded as Zhou Mengyao took his leave.
'What is happening for the family's strongest members to have a meeting? Is it because grandfather's birthday is near and we will also celebrate the long legacy of the Zhou Family that only happens once in a hundred years?'
Zhou Mengyao thought about it and he thinks that it is the only viable reason. The celebration will be grand as it is only held once in hundred years and there are only a few records about the celebration in the books since the said event is very rare and took years of planning.
'It's not my business to think about it, the banquet will happen in two weeks so there should be no reason to overthink about it. There is just no reason for me to dip my hands in the matters of the family right now.'
Zhou Mengyao gets back to his quarters where there are four armored horses waiting for him in the gate.
Other than the four armored horses, his new servants have also finished their preparations.
"Young Master we are all ready."
Teng Hu, Lin Xia, Hu Jia, all three of them look prepared as their equipment looks brand new.
Hu Jia with his huge body carries a huge battleaxe as his weapon and he also has a bow and arrow at his back showcasing his experience in hunting in the wild. Hu Jia also wears some tough pelt coming from a magical beast, the pelt covers his whole body, and seeing how large the pelt is, Zhou Mengyao guessed that it probably is heavy.
Lin Xia meanwhile has a short sword strapped at his side, he also wears very loose clothing and leather armor to protect his body. Most of the equipment of Lin Xia is very light as he did not want his heavy equipment to reduce his speed.
As for Teng Hu, he looked like a normal swordsman that still fantasizes about the white robe swordsman as he did not wear anything to protect his body. His only equipment is a very standard sword that is strapped at his side but Zhou Mengyao did not judge him just yet.
Teng Hu is still talented enough to be able to enter a prestigious academy so he should bring him some surprise.
"Since everyone is ready, then let's set out."
Zhou Mengyao nodded at them as he too took out his weapon. It was something that he got in the armory before Qian Fang and the gang arrived.
"So the young master fancies a greatsword? That is a huge sword that strangely fits your use young master."
Hu Jia nodded after seeing the thick edges of the greatsword.
Zhou Mengyao has chosen the greatsword as his weapon due to his enlightenment with the sword which will have a very good synergy with his attack skill the Torrential Strike.
Even if he did not manage to cut his enemy, with the weight of the force of the greatsword that will be heightened by Torrential Strike, any enemy of him will have problems with the impact of the force that they will have to deal with.
"The edges are very thick, I will rather believe that this sword is created with the intention that it should not be used to cut enemy but to rather break all the bones in their body with the impact of the sword."
Lin Xia commented to the thickness of the edges, normal edges of swords should be sharpened but this greatsword did not. It was thicker, way thicker than usual.
"I believe that young master's main martial skill has something to do with impact if you wanted to use this type of sword. It truly is just not that practical to use in comparison to other swords that existed."
Teng Hu gave out his opinion as Zhou Mengyao nodded to it, he almost guessed it. As for whether the sword is practical or not, no one knew yet. Although the sword looks like it is not sharp on the contrary it actually is sharp.
He already tried it earlier and he felt that the sword just fits right on him. It is created with the Black Metal and the concentration used is rather high making it a piece of good equipment so Zhou Mengyao planned to use it but just like what Teng Hu said, the reason the sword looked like it is impractical to use is because of the high concentration of Black Metal.
It looked like the sword is full of impurities because of the high concentration of Black Metal which became a problem.
Zhou Mengyao strapped the sword in his back so he can carry and use it much easier. They might encounter wild beasts in their way so having your weapon prepared is a good choice.
Zhou Mengyao gets in the back of one of the armored horses, it felt uncomfortable at first but his predecessor have been thought how to ride one since he is young so after some time of arranging his position, he managed to find a good position for himself.
The other three who are not that good look troubled before they get the hang of it.
"Are you ready? Our destination first is the Galima Town, we will rest there for some time before we go hunting in the Riverdale Plains."
"We are all ready young master!"
...
Zhou Mengyao have already left the busy city as they entered the wild and grassy plains. In the way, they have crossed ways among plenty of people mostly merchants and cultivators roaming the land.
"Young Master, I think we might have to slow down. We still have not managed to spot a single wild beast despite the fact that we already entered the outskirts of the Riverdale Plains."
"Something must be wrong here, the Riverdale Plains sustains the life of plenty of magical beasts so there should be at least one or two that we should have managed to meet. This is weird since even if we overhunt magical beasts in the mountain, there are still plenty of them."
"For a plain like this that has a very high population density of magical beasts in comparison to other places like mountains, it is just impossible that there are no magical beasts living here."
Being weirded out by the place, Hu Jia quickly warned Zhou Mengyao and he also nodded and kinda agreed to what Hu Jia said.
There is really just no reason for them to not meet a single magical beast, it is unheard of. They have not managed to spot even a single one after the fact that they have been roaming the place for almost a while.
"We have no choice, this is the fastest route to enter the Galima Town. We can just retreat when a bad thing happened."
Zhou Mengyao quickly made a decision, he can't delay leveling up the Absolute Pride of the Azure Dragon right now. Backing off right now is not a smart choice for his future.
"If we are going to proceed then please take the lead so we can cover your blind spots."
The three of them surrounded Zhou Mengyao who is in the middle, seeing that they are very wary of the surroundings, Zhou Mengyao also took extra care of his surroundings.
He led the charge as the heavy footsteps of the horses can be heard as the four horses run to their fast speed making them appear blurry as they carry a huge speed and momentum within them.
'Is it just me or the ground is shaking? I do know that the horses that I brought have a very strong foot and legs but it will never reach this point that it will make the ground looks like it has an earthquake.'
"Young Master we have a stroke of bad luck! There is a beast tide at our back!"
Zhou Mengyao frowned as he felt a bad omen.
