"Light them up!"

As per Elder Ren Hong's order, the men in the walls threw torches of fire that quickly set the oil on fire.

The Thunderwolves that use their strong bodies and the bodies of their companions to climb the walls are quickly litted in the fire.

They only managed to at least scale half of the tall wall but before they can even try to completely climb it, the ones who are at the top got into an unlucky situation as they are set on fire.

Seeing that the attack work and it stop the beast who are scaling the wall for a moment, Elder Ren Hong nodded at it. The men quickly aim their bows to the scaling Thunderwolves as the bodies of the said beasts continuously fall one by one.

"Let me deal with these beasts, I alone am enough to lead the men. The two of you just deal with the two leaders!"

Elder Ren Hong shouted as he looks at Elder Mao Fang and the other elder.

"Alright, I will show them what the Mao brother can do even if they are no longer at their peak."

The last elder of the town, Mao Yong nodded at Elder Ren Hong's arrangement.

"Elder Brother, let's do our best."

"Elder Brother? I can't believe it took you so long to call me that. It would have been much better if you call me as your Elder Brother when we are still not going to die."

The two, Elder Mao Fang and Mao Yong are very look-alike signifying that they are brothers. The only difference is that Elder Mao Fang has long hair and a huge scar on his cheeks that reaches his neck.

Elder Mao Yong on the other hand is bald and there are only small scars that can be seen on his face and palm.

"Now is not the time for the joke, let's do it like we usually do."

"Alright, like we usually do."

After both of them stared at each other for a second, they nodded as nostalgia can be seen written on their faces.

Both of them put their backs on each other as both nock an arrow and aim at the injured leader.

A sharp and serious look can be seen on their face as they aim at their targets.

Swoosh!

The arrow shriek in a beautiful melody as it flew into the air along with the other arrows released by the men in the walls. The only thing that can differentiate it is its bright blue color that contrasts the bright red and yellowish color of the fire that is released by the soldiers.

As the leader of the beast looks at it, it realized that its target is his injured companion.

ROAR!

The wolf roared loudly as it bears its sharp canine fangs to Elder Mao Yong who released the arrow.

The arrow is almost blinding blue in color and it clearly outshines every arrow beside it, even the beasts that are scaling below took a glance just to see what kind of arrow can shine like that.

As the approaching arrow is about to hit the injured wolf with a very well aim, the leader that is protecting its companion used its sharp claws again to redirect the arrow.

As he did so, the arrow that looks menacingly strong is actually weaker than it seems so the wolf managed to redirect it without any problems. It did not even produce a sound when the wolf managed to redirect it.

The wolf suddenly became confused as it prepared for the unpleasant feeling of a sharp object being redirected by his claws that never actually came until it realized what is happening.

The menacingly bright arrow is just a decoy as just in its back, another arrow that flew at a blinding speed is aimed at its companion. The wolf knew that it cannot redirect the damage of the next arrow as he too did not see the illusion coming.

Although it is a strong beast, it is not at the point that it is very strong to the point that it can have the intelligence to realized what tricks is.

As the wolf realized that it cannot redirect the damage of the said arrow, it knew that there is no other choice other than to use its tough body to block the arrow, it cannot let its companion die.

Surely one arrow will not be able to heavily injure him or kill him so without any ado, the wolf quickly reacted by using its tough pelt and body that is trained by the wild.

A dull thump can be heard as the arrow burrowed itself deep into the flesh of the said wolf.

As the wolf thought that the arrow cannot heavily injure it, its thought is wrong as it can feel the sharp arrow hitting its inner organs. The wolf tried to move very fast as it panics due to the pain inflicted by the arrow.

As it tried to move, the injury became much more serious as the huge hole became larger which increases the blood leaving its body because of its injury.

"That was a good hit. It was a good move unfortunately, we can only do it once."

Elder Mao Yong said as he shook his head after executing the move that they can only do once per beast. The chance of it succeeding is very high but the move cannot finish any beast unless they are injured heavily.

"Indeed, we truly are out of shape. If it is back then I can probably release two arrows at the same time but now, even one arrow is enough to put me in great trouble."

Elder Mao Fang replied as his face paled before he falls down to the ground due to qi exhaustion.

Before he can completely fall, his brother Elder Mao Yong supported him as he knew that every time this move is executed his elder brother will pass out due to extreme qi exhaustion.

"Zou Jing, bring my brother and entrust him to the women down below."

"Alright Elder Mao Yong."

After entrusting his unconscious brother to one of his most trusted soldiers, Elder Mao Yong looks back at the said wolf again.

The wolf has regained its composure but its will to fight can be seen decreasing. Its qi is just limited and with the number of rays of electricity that it shoots out, it will not make sense if it still is not running out of qi.

The wolf look in Elder Mao Yong's direction as it pointed its forehead and horns to the place where plenty of people are concentrated. Streaks of electricity gathered as it angrily released one of its last attacks.

"Everyone get down!"

Elder Mao Yong naturally saw it being prepared so he managed to warn everyone before the ray of electricity can even be completely generated.

BOOM!

The ray of electricity hits the walls and a very loud explosion can be heard but before it can completely hit the uppermost part of the wall where the soldiers are stationed, most people have already managed to hide themselves completely.

As the explosion ring out, a few unlucky people have been hit and Elder Mao Yong looks at it before he shook his head without any change in his emotion, casualties are part of this disaster so there is no reason to overthink it.

The four people that got hit no longer have any chance to live anymore.

The town can only cure some low-level injuries such as bleeding, as for being electrocuted, as far as the history of their town goes. There has never been any herb that they can use near the surroundings in order to cure the electrocuted person.

After the explosion, Elder Mao Yong completely stood up as he quickly nocks an arrow and aim at the two beasts, at this point, since both beasts are injured then he can just choose to attack both of them as they are a much more easier target.

Elder Mao Yong squeezed out all the qi in his body as he knew that this should be the climax of the fight. The leader of the Thunderwolves just wanted an act of petty revenge for its injuries but after knowing that it is not effective and its life will just be in danger then there is no reason for them to continue attacking.

Retreating is the best choice for their survival, as for the other Thunderwolves that are still scaling the walls, the two leaders don't care about them. As far as they knew, they are just young wolves that did not experience what the huge world's pettiness is.

As both the leader of the best tide puts their back in the aim of Elder Mao Yong in order to escape the perilous situation, they became an easier target as they just wanted to leave the place sneakily.
