"What is going on?!" I shrieked when I heard another roar. It was slowly catching up to us. It was louder than ever. My contained knees were beginning to suffer, considering that I was sprinting my fastest to not get killed. And then I heard the words, run faster.

"Gosh I don't want to do this," I heard her say. She had located herself to my right. "I'll explain to you what this is all about later. But before you freak out, know that I've warned you for what's about to happen. I've got to get rid of that thing, even if I have to do anything."

"Wa-"

Before I can say more, her hands clasp together. Everything slowed in my vision.

Was she going to do something, like the man in my dream did?

She pulls them outwards, and the result?

Water.

She aims it at the glass and pushes. Like an obedient ribbon, it gushes out of the orb and breaks the windows. Now controlling it with one hand, she uses the other to bundle us three together. Without hesitation, she pulls us with force and we reluctantly jumped out the window before the beast can snap our heads off. The moment was stretched as we sprang midair, then time returned to normal.

We ended up landing on floating chunks of ice in a string of flying waves that the woman captained. It felt related to my dream. People from below were watching us with horror plastered on them. Sang didn't seem to care. Emmanuel screamed for a reaction while I gazed.

But the trip had ended too rapidly when she brought us to the roof and went back, presumably for the creature. I sat frozen, but the other had gotten up and went to the edge, scanning everything to make certain that he wasn't going absolutely crazy. I breathed a laugh. He whirled his head in my direction.

"How are you this calm?! Did you not see what just happened?"

"I saw them before."

"What?"

I look at him. "That was the monster in my dream."

"Alright. So... where do we start?"

Xiao Sang placed herself before us. According to my phone that had been there the entire time, twenty minutes had passed. For an older brother, Emmanuel seemed more nervous than I was. He had given me his jacket, as I was still in my hospital gown. He was fidgeting, which I understood.

"Did you take care of that thing?"

"Yes."

"What about the people?"

"I put them in a trance with a little trick, they'll forget anything that happened today."

"Are you gonna put that 'trick' on us?"

"No."

"Why not?"

The girl sighed.

"You're not just a nurse are you?" Emmanuel muttered.

"Of course not."

"Then who are you? Or what are you? Why are you here?" I felt impatient.

"I'm... not from here. I'm from another world, a world that has the ability to do what you just saw. My name is Xiao Sang and I am from Nover."

"That's obvious, but that sounds impossible," Emmanuel retorts.

"To humans, yes, but there is something that you should know. Ruvelia, you lied that your dog had died. It was your parents that you mourned for, wasn't it?"

Words were stuck in my mouth. Emmanuel and I glanced at each other.

"How.. do you know?"

"The reason that I came here, was because I was sent by my superiors to investigate your parents. We were informed that there were our people here. I found you, but those monsters also found me. Your parents- they're not actually- nevermind."

My brows curl. Her cut words replay in my head, 'they're not actually-.'

"Am I hearing correctly?" Emmanuel scrunched his face. I glance in his direction.

"I trust that you will keep this a secret. These people cannot know that we Noverigns exist. They won't believe you anyway. I should leave, but I will be keeping an eye on you two for when you may be in danger. I know that it's hard to understand, however they must not know of your true identities."

"True identities?"

"Yes, Ruvelia and Emmanuel Kim. You are both Noverign."

She said she'd return.

She took three days to do that.

Since that encounter on that rooftop, contrary to her usual serious self, she used her element -wisely- to steal three bicycles, and have us peddle away from the situation before we winded up worse. We found ourselves in a fancy restaurant, where Xiao Sang took it upon herself to boldly snatch two purses and two bags, before we rushed out with security tailing us. Because of her, we lost them, my brother and I totally depleted of oxygen while she only bothered to counting the bag's money. For the next minute, we rested, then the next, we were made to move again and reached an old motel, where she decided that we stay for the rest of days that she'd be gone.

She put a new identity onto us, one where we were somewhat from 'another planet'. It seemed stupid that we had to listen to her instructions of staying right where she wanted us. We didn't want to. Our denial was too stubborn, but then she warned us, -threatened more- that she'd use her magic on us instead of words, mentioning that we'd obey anyway.

It all happened too fast.

It was both of our birthdays that week. It came and went quite quietly. I was now eighteen, and my brother was one older.

I plumped myself on the main couch, getting comfortable as I use on my phone to kill time. I browse around my social medias, I felt bored.

I dropped my phone, and as I did, there was a wrap at the front door. I flinched, stealthily getting on my feet. I tiptoed to the frame, closing an eye to peer through the peephole.

It was someone in a black hood.

It took no more than a second for me to recognize her.

Before she could knock again with an agitated hand, I unlocked it, swinging it open as I grabbed her by the wrist and brought her inside.

"What are you doing here?!" I whispered.

"We need to leave. They found us-"

"They? Those creatures? What happened?"
