Ch.83

Arriving at the front door of a basic house that was black and orange in color, Midori stared at the door bell. 'She doesn't have the smarthome features? This... How old is this house..?'

Like Daemon's past house, Kaiyo's wasn't futuristic. It was still advanced but not like others. 'I can't really say anything though. I live...in an apartment..' Midori slapped her cheeks and sighed.

She then proceeded to ring the doorbell. A gentle sound went off which surprised Midori once more. After a few seconds, the door unlocked and opened to reveal Kaiyo.

She was in a green crop top tank top while in grey baggy sweatpants. Like she just came from the gym, she was covered in sweat and even had a towel over her left shoulder

"What the hell do you want? And why the hell are you here?!"

She screamed at Midori, causing her to sigh slightly. 'Does she not feel embarrassed being dressed like that...?' Her boobs would jiggle around at times which made Midori stare like she was being hypnotized.

"Hey! I asked you a question! I expect an answer, don't you get that?!"

She made small explosions in her hands as she put them in front of Midori. This caused her to snap out of it by flinching and coughed a bit.

"I-I, no, may I come inside. It's...hot out here.."

"Hm.."

Kaiyo stared at her. The sun was getting to her too and she didn't want to stand her any longer. 'Or I could just send her away. Why should I even hear her out..?' Kaiyo groaned and opened the door completely.

"5 minutes. That's all."

She rubbed the back of her head while sighing. When it came to Midori, she didn't really like her. But when it came to company, she couldn't help but let people in. Kaiyo put on a facade of being rude and mean to hide a certain weakness she had.

"R-Really? Who are you... Where's Kaiyo...?"

She looked around, searching for the real Kaiyo. Kaiyo became pissed at that and shoved her inside. Kaiyo then closed the door behind herself and walked away.

The inside of her house was nothing surprising. Basic furniture and basic location for the living room/kitchen. She did have work out equipment around the entire house though.

"So? Why are you here?"

Kaiyo cracked open a can of soda while sitting down on a brown couch, crossing her legs in the process. Midori helped herself to sit down on the edge of the couch. She used to come here all the time when they were smaller, but stopped after her mother and fathers death.

Kaiyo's parents lived in this house too, but moved out a few years back. They still live in Japan though, but just not here.

"I-I came here...to invite you over to my Thanksgiving dinner.."

She didn't beat around the bush to tell her her purpose in being here. 'Invite me over? Ha, that's rich! Why the hell would I come? Does she take me as desperate or something..?'

"Actually, I came here because Daemon wanted me to. I thought it was a bad idea and..."

Midori went on but it was all unheard by Kaiyo. 'Daemon...wanted me to come? Why the hell.... Is it because of what I told him? How I don't spend time with my family on holidays...' A very, very, very faint blush appeared on her face.

It was comparable to trying to find that one video of porn that you first masturbated to. It's hard to find, buts it's out there.

I will find it.

"Well, anyways, the parties on Thanksgiving day at my home. Come..if you like.."

Midori got up and left on her own. 'Daemon, you bastard. Sending your girlfriend over to invite me on a date...' She knew his true purpose, but her brain covered it up.

"Fuck, man. I'll go, but I hope she knows that it's for Daemon's kindness. Don't think that I'll be doing this in your favor.."

She sat the can down and got up. 'Though, you coming here is something that I didn't expect..' Her respect towards Midori went up from 1 percent to 2 percent. Kaiyo then began working out again as Midori stood on the edge of the road, a cab pulling up to her.

'It.. It was short, but I still did it. I was able to.. I was able to talk without backing down..' She got into the cab with a smile. She, like Kaiyo, felt like they became a bit closer. Just a bit though.

A bit.

....

Daemon sat the bags of items down on the kitchen counter while sighing. 'I never went all out like this even with Lily. Am I doing too much..?'

He had bags full of Thanksgiving decorations. In the previous years, he never set things up and only cooked food for him and Lily.

'Midori is supposed to go buy the Turkey and other food after she tries to convince Kaiyo to come. I'll move things out the way so we can have more space for our guest..'

He thought he was doing too much but in reality, he was doing too little. It's his girlfriends, wife, children, and friends first Thanksgiving in years *or* for the first time in their life.

He should be doing more like buying them all presents or something, but he'd eventually save that idea for the birth of his creators son.

Daemon took everything out the bags first then started reorganizing the apartment. She had a lot of space since she was alone and Daemon filled up said spaces. He would move around the couch, the tv, the tables, everything until he got a final product.

From the front door, you'd open it and close it behind yourself. You'd then walked down the 10 foot long hallway with a width that could fit 4 people shoulder to shoulder. At the end of the hallway, stop. That's right, your suppose to be imagining all of this.

Anyways, once you stop, you'll look to the right and see another hallway that was the same 10 feet, 4 shoulder width, with 2 doors on the left and one on the right. If you look ahead again, you'd find the living room and just past that was the kitchen.

On the right wall, you'd see the tv that rests on the wall. Under it was a shelf that held figures and pictures with a gaming console as well. On the left wall, you'd see a couch that could fit over 10 people on it.

An oval shaped table was in front of it with pine cones in a basket. In the kitchen which you could see from the front door, the stove atleast, there was a table to the left of the entrance of the kitchen for 4 that could fold out into one for 10.

"I swear this place is bigger than mine.."

Daemon then began putting up decorations. Yes, I'm gonna describe what he put up for word count. I'm at 1185 words right now. Wait, this... This is an infinite loop!

In the hallways, he put put pictures of turkeys that were handrawn by Daemon. He also put up the Thanksgiving orange and black as wallpaper all around. He would then place baskets around and fill them up with wheats.

He did even more stuff that really made it seem like Thanksgiving was tommorow or something when in reality, its 5 days away. Daemon was just lazy. He didn't want to set up the day before Thanksgiving.

"I'm home.."

The door closed followed by a Wow factor. Midori looked down the hallway in amazement. The colors, the pictures, the over all mood was set up for Thanksgiving.

"Oh, hey, Midori. How are you?"

Said Daemon as he walked past the small gap of hallway. You could see a bit of sweat on his forehead while his breathing was ragged. 'That's... This...' Midori smiled as she made her way up to him.

She sat the bags down on the couch, jumped into his arms and kissed him on the cheek

"Thank You... For All Of This."

Having someone like Daemon in her life really brought about a change in herself. Doesn't love work in mysterious ways? It can make a quiet and shy girl turn into one of a happy and cheerful one. Can also make you move states.

Don't chase after a girl, guys. Shit hurts.

"Of course, Midori. I'd do anything for you.."

Daemon held the back of her head as he sat down on the end of the couch. Midori positioned herself to be sitting on his crotch with her hands on his shoulders.

"I see that baby..."

She looked around the room with a smile. It was more beautiful than the first Thanksgiving itself. 'He went all out..and for me? Daemon Fisher, I really am in love with you..' She let out a laugh that brought a smile to his face.

"Oh! How did it go with Kaiyo?"

Daemon was quite curious on how their conversations went down. So curious in fact that Daemon started looking around her for bruises. Midori wore a green tank top with the word, 'Bounce' on the shirt in black. She had on blue jeans and black vans.

"Hmmm... I told her, but never heard her answer. She didn't seem the least bit interested too..."

Daemon slowly nodded. It's not like he expected her to come, but he still asked Midori to ask her to come to deepen their relationship.

"I see. Well, it's the thought that counts. Maybe Christmas?"

"Yeah, maybe.."

She sighed while going into his shoulder. She rested her head there for awhile, Daemon running his hand over her back. 'Your first actuall friend...didn't want to show up to your party... Its okay to be sad..'

Midori sniffed quietly while a wet spot appeared on his chest. 'I should go down there...and beg Kaiyo to come. Midori wants to share her happiness with you, and yet you turn it down. It's your own decision, Kaiyo, and I understand that, but..'

Daemon sighed while tilting her head up. This reavled a face with tears in the corner of their eyes to him.

"Don't Be Sad, Midori. I Don't Wanna See You..In Such A State."

He whipped her tears away, only for more to fall down. 'You're putting yourself down when your not at fault. Don't do that.'

"Daemon, I... I just feel like I can't do anything~... I showed up and didn't even try to convince her to come, even when I wanted her too~.."

She cried and cried out into his chest. 'Just let it all out, Midori. I hate to see you like this, but its fine to let it all out at times..'

Daemon never had a way with words. Like stated before, he doesn't really understand human emotion.

'That's why.... I'm afraid that I'll say the wrong thing..'

Midori kept crying into his arms. He eventually had to get up to put the food away so it wouldn't spoil, Midori continuing to latch onto him like a koala to their mother.

"Midori. I love you. You know that, right?"

Said Daemon as he put the Turkey into the freezer. She slightly nodded in his chest, forming a smile on his face.

"I never meant to harm you like this. It was unintentional but it made your cry anyways.."

Daemon looked down at her to see her looking up at him. After starring at each other for a while, she finally let go of him and cupped his face.

"I know you didn't. You..wanted us to become closer and I get that. It was me however..who couldn't finish your plan.."

She smiled and walked away towards her room. 'Midori..' Daemon sighed as he saw her back leave his vision. 'I need to make this right..' Daemon put the rest of the food away and went to the couch.

'I'll give her some space..'

Daemon turned the tv on, grabbed the cover from the back of the couch and laid down. Popcorn appeared from no where and he snacked on that for the rest of the night until he fell asleep.
