Charles Gu froze for a moment. It was as if time had frozen at that spot, as Charles Gu stared at her quietly shocked.
Why did she want a divorce suddenly? Hadn't she been the one who had sworn never to leave him? Had she come back to her senses?
Thoughtfully, Charles Gu walked to her and grabbed her thin wrist, "why do you want to divorce so suddenly huh?"
Sally Sue frowned from the pain he was causing her. But in between gritted teeth she mumbled: "you don't love me right? You said it yourself that you wanted a divorce too. I've already found myself a lawyer."
Charles Gu was silent for a moment, before he replied, "meet me at the company tomorrow."
"Mm." Was the only thing Sally Sue could reply.
Charles Gu let go of her wrist and turned back.
She bent down lightly to pick up the small Chanel bag that she had carried with her, silently rubbing her sore hand.
Charles Gu pulled the other lady standing with him, and together they began to descend the stairs, with Charles Gu bodyguards holding an umbrella for him.
And then suddenly, he stopped and turned to face her.
"Have you ordered a cab?" He asked
Sally Sue blinked.
Was he asking her?
She felt felt her heart begin to beat faster.
"No." She mumbled quietly.
Charles Gu slid his hands into his pockets, and said to the bodyguard, "send her to the mansion now!"
One of the body guards hurried towards her with another umbrella and placed it over her head.
Sally Sue was a little bit shocked by his reaction, but still, she stopped her heart from assuming any further.
"Miss Gu, please come with me." The bodyguard mumbled, a hint of pity in his voice.
Sally Sue could only nod and follow the man to the red maybach parked besides Charles Gu car.
As the car drove away, Sally Sue began to get teary.
Where had she gone wrong?
Hadn't she been a perfect wife?
How could he leave her for her best friend without considering her feelings at all?
A tear ran down her smooth face, and soon more tears were flowing down.
She lifted her head and saw that the driver was looking at her a little worriedly.
She immediately cleaned her tears and sat up straight to stare at the window.
After what seemed like an hour, the red Maybach finally stopped at a very large house.
It was the Gu's family mansion, and at the sight of it Sally Sue frowned.
Ever since she had married Charles Gu he had told her clearly that she wasn't going to live with him but stay at the Gu's family mansion.
It was just as if he had married her as a property.
She had been perplexed at first, even though he hated her so much she really hadn't thought that he wouldn't want her to stay at his house.
"Miss Gu, we're here." The driver announced.
Sally Sue said nothing, but slowly got up from the car.
The driver trailed after her as she walked in the direction of the mansion.
After she reached the door and he was sure that she could go in by her self, he walked back to the maybach and drove away.
Sally Sue, after watching the car drive away, Sally Sue did not enter the Gu mansion but instead walked away from the house towards the road.
After waiting for up to an hour Sally Sue finally boarded a cab to the Long Family house.
Amanda Long was Sally's childhood friend, and as she sighted Sally Sue standing at the gate of the Long Family mansion she rushed downstairs with an umbrella and pulled Sally sue in.
Amanda Long was shocked beyond words when she saw the miserable state of her friend.
Her mouth was slightly opened as she stared at Sally.
"Sally! What happened!? Were you robbed? Why are you wet? Why did you come so late at night? What..."
"He agreed to divorce." Sally Sue blurted out calmly. Her hair was now entirely soaked and though she looked horrible Sally Sue was still breathtaking. Few raindrops were racing Down her body and some were running past her lips making her look even more seductive and innocent.
Amanda Long widened her eyes in shock, "he agreed to divorce!?"
"Mm."
"Are you alright."
"Am not!" Sally Sue mumbled tearfully. "He said it right in front of that bitch!"
"Tracy Wang?" Amanda asked, looking surprised.
Sally nodded, and leaned on Amanda's shoulder, defeated.
"Let's go in."
Sally said nothing as Amanda led her into the house.
She didn't still say anything when Amanda made her a cup of tea and made her sit at the fireside.
All she could think of was the months and days she spent thinking of him, all the strategies she had tried to make him love her, all the plans and works... Everything.
Amanda Long patted Sally Sue's back in a comforting way.
"Don't cry yourself to death Sally." Amanda mumbled. "I always knew that bastard was never going to love you even after everything you did."
"I need to drink something."Sally Sue asked, staring into nothingness. "Can you get me a bottle of beer?"
Amanda Long blinked, "Sally you can't.....
"Please." Sally pleaded, grabbing Amanda's wrist.
"Fine."
Amanda Long stood up, and after a few minutes, she came back with a bottle of beer In her hands, which she handed over to sally, who took it and immediately began to drink.
"Why?" Sally Sue turned to look at Amanda. "Why must I always be unlucky?"
"Sally you need some rest." Amanda Long said, and helped Sally up.
She led Sally to the guest room and after helping her change and get into bed Amanda Long shut the room door and went downstairs.
Downstairs, Amanda Long looked around before quickly making a phone call.
"Yes Alex." Amanda sighed on the phone. "He's divorcing her because of Tracy Wang."
The hard voice on the other side of the phone was quiet for a moment, before it spoke, "how is she now?"
"Terrible."
"Damn! Don't worry I will take care of it!"
Amanda had a worried look on her face, "please don't do anything to Charles Gu. He's dangerous."
"I know." And the line was cut.
