Chapter 5 Your number.

Sally Sue was surprised for a moment.

She lifted her eyes to stare at the man, before finally leaning back.

Deep down she could feel her anger rising up.

Even though he didn't like her, he didn't have to act as if he was disgusted with her presence.

Perhaps he was gay and didn't like women.

*cough. *cough*

Sally Sue tightened her fists, trying her best to remain polite. Before she mumbled, "Sir….uhm...what if you give me your number...so...uhm….I can call you when I have the money."

The man raised his perfect brows, and asked coldly "when you have the money?"

"No!" Sally Sue shook her head vigorously, suddenly realizing what she said. "I mean when you want it."

The man said nothing, but instead, raised his hands towards her, gesturing for her to bring her phone.

Sally Sue quickly placed her phone in his palm.

The man took it and typed some numbers in it, before handing it back to her, careful not to let any of them have any body contact.

Sally Sue took the phone and saved the number.

She was about dialing it to confirm when the man's cold voice said lazily;

"Don't dial it."

Sally Sue raised a brow, slightly dumbfounded.

Wasn't he afraid that she would run off without calling him?

"Why?" She asked, "aren't you afraid I will run off?"

"I believe your a woman of your words." The man said, a hint of mockery in his sparkling eyes. "Besides, if you don't call back in the next four days, I will find you and put you in jail."

The man's lips were slightly curled up, but Sally knew he wasn't joking. She quickly moved back and ran back to her car.

Once she got into her car, she took a deep breath, started the engine and drove off.

The man in the car relaxed his head on the headrest, silently watching as Sally Sue's car zoomed off the road.

He was still staring at the direction she drove off, when the door of the passenger seat opened and a young guy with golden hair jumped in with a paper bag.

"Took you long enough." The man said not turning to look at the other guy who just came in.

The young guy dropped the paper bag on his laps and turned to face the ice stature sitting beside him. A pout forming on his lips. "You forced me to go down and have a chat with miss Zhang! You know she's really bent on marrying you. I had to do something to get her to stop creating fake news about you too. You should be very thankful to me Mr Li. That woman is really a tough nut to crack."

Noah Li turned his head to stare at the pouting man sitting besides him, and said casually, not thinking of what the other guy had said, "did she agree to stop?"

"No!" The other guy mumbled, looking worried. "she's really bent on blackmailing you."

Noah Li sighed, closing his eyes as he rested his head on the headrest.

The other guy bit his lips feeling very annoyed.

'This man is always so unpredictable! First, he didn't care about the rumors, all of a sudden he now wants it down! Ah...am gonna die early if I keep on worrying about him!'

"Drive." The other guy said to the driver, who quickly started the car and drove off.

Sally Sue parked her car at the city hospital and quickly rushed in.

Grandma Gu who was standing near the receptionist area, immediately sighted her and ran to meet her.

"Sally!"

Sally turned to look at who was calling her. Her eyes fell on Grandma Gu and she rushed to meet her.

When they reached each other, Sally Sue grabbed Grandma Gu's arm and asked, "where is Grandpa?"

"This way. He really wants to see you." Grandma Gu held Sally's hand and led her to the highest floor of the building, where VIP rooms where located.

Immediately they reached Grandpa Gu's room door, Sally Sue pushed the door open and entered.

She stared around the room.

The hospital room looked like a hotel room, with large gauzy curtains, a large bed and a small little living room.

Sally's eyes darted to a bed near the window.

Grandpa Gu was lying down on the bed, his eyes closed and his hands placed together.

Sally Sue immediately rushed towards Grandpa Gu and crouched beside him.

"Grandpa….are you awake?" Sally Sue placed her hands in grandpa Gu's wrinkled one, looking at him worriedly.

"Sally is that you?" Grandpa Gu called faintly, as he opened his eyes.

"Yes grandpa. Am here." Sally nodded tightening her grip on his hands.

She really couldn't believe that Grandpa Gu could get so seriously sick all of a sudden. She had just talked to him last week.

She continued staring at his face, her hands still enclapsed in his. Grandpa Gu's face looked very pale and his eyes had sunk in. His once grey shiny hair that Sally use to oil was now dry and stiff. His lips was now pale and dry, and his body looked very thin.

He didn't look like someone who was suffering from mild illness.

Sally Sue felt her heart shatter into a million pieces as she stared at his miserable state.

"Grandpa, what happened? You were alright when we last saw each other, how….." Sally sniffed, "how did this happen?"

Grandpa Gu raised his arm and patted Sally Sue's head affectionately, "don't start crying...am not dead yet...its was just poisoning…."

"Poisoning?!!" Sally Sue mouth fell open.

Who the hell in his right mind would want to poison an old man?

"Ah….grandpa...how do you know this? Is that what the doctor said?"

Grandpa Gu was about to say something when Grandma Gu spoke up;

"I think someone was paid to do this. Someone who is close to him. I think you should get rid of all your personal assistants and Bodyguards…. Its-"

"That's nonsense." Grandpa Gu said waving away his wife's suspicion. He looked around the room as if trying to remember something, and then he turned to Sally.

"Sally, where is your husband?"Grandpa Gu's voice was weak but it was still filled with enthusiasm as he spoke.

Sally Sue felt her heart begin to race.

She placed her hand on the back of her neck, trying to figure out what to say, when the hospital room door opened and someone came in.
