Uhm.... He asked me to come." Sally Sue said, smiling politely.
The receptionist smiled professionally, "Mr Gu isn't currently in, you can wait for him if you like, or you can just drop your message."
Sally Sue felt a little joy in her heart when she heard that Charles Gu wasn't in.
Somehow she knew it would give her time to really think about the divorce.
"Miss?"
"I will wait."
"Alright." The receptionist smiled again, "come with me."
Sally Sue was led to a lounge were the receptionist made her sit.
Sally Sue waited for some minutes, silently thinking and pondering. Perhaps Amanda was right.
Divorce was the only way.
And then another problem crossed her mind....
How was she going to break the news to her parents?
The Sue family was a very reputable family in the country, and telling them that she was getting divorced by Charles Gu, because of her best friend, was like humiliating them in front of their enemies. The news would go viral and cause a lot of problems between her and her father who would quickly just disown her.
After all, she was just an illegitimate child, who only her grandpa loved.
Slowly Sally Sue became tired of both thinking and waiting.
She was sure that she had probably waited here for hours.
"Could the receptionist be lying?"
"Did Charles Gu really go out from the company or he just wants her to wait till she left?"
Just as she was getting frustrated with her thoughts, there was a loud buzz from her phone, and immediately Sally Sue picked her phone up to see who was calling.
On the identity was clearly written, "Sweet
"Grandma."
She quickly pressed the answer button. "Grandma, how are you?"
"Sally, you have to come to the hospital now!" Gu sniffed, "Grandpa just been rushed to the began to shake.
"Sally, are you there? You have to come now!"
Sally stared down at the phone, the image of grandpa Gu dying flashed in her mind, and Sally sue felt a cold shiver run down her spine.
No!
This wasn't happening.
Sally!" The voice shouted again when it heard no response.
Sally blinked, coming out of her imagination, "yes...yes! Am here! Is he alright?"
"You have to come!" The voice ordered, "he wants to see you!"
And the line was cut.
Without wasting a minute, Sally Sue grabbed her phone and rushed out.
Immediately she came out of the company, she rushed towards her car, and drove off.
Driving in a frenzy, Sally Sue had almost gotten her forth warnings from angry drivers when her small car speedily brushed the body of another car, parked at the side of the road.
Realizing what she had done, Sally Sue took a deep breath as fear clouded her eyes, before she pushed her door open and ran towards the other car.
Seeing that nobody had come out of the car, she began to think that perhaps the owner had gone to go get something, or had just parked it there.
In order to be sure, Sally Sue peered into the tinted window of the passenger seat, she was glad when she didn't see any human figure.
Determined to correct her mistake, Sally Sue walked to the front of the passenger door where her car had scratched. There were up to six lines on the car, each horizontally and vertically drawn.
"Ahh!" She exclaimed, after seeing the huge lines on the door of the car.
And to make it more worse, Sally sue realized that the car was a red, beautiful BMW which she was sure would cost her a fortune.
"What kind of problem have i gotten myself into!" Sally wailed "now how am i going to solve this."
Sally Sue was silent for a moment. She stared at the scratches silently, a thoughtful look on her face.
And then, seeing that no one was looking at her direction, Sally Sue slightly raised her cotton gown up and tried cleaning the scratches with it.
As she was diligently trying her best to clean the scratches, the window of the passenger door rolled down revealing a well sculptured face.
Startled by the sudden scene, Sally's face immediately turned chalk white and she lost her balance.
But just be for she could fall to the ground, a long, slender hand, wrapped itself around her wrist, pulling Sally Sue from falling to the ground.
Due to the strongness of the arm on her wrist and her lack of reflexes, as he pulled her closer, her small head lightly hit the tip of the back door of the car, causing her forehead to throb painfully.
Seeing that she hadn't fallen, the hand slowly released itself from her wrist.
Ouch!" Sally Sue placed her slender, white hand on her head, feeling the sore place.
"Arghh!! what's wrong with you?!!! Can't….."
She turned her gaze towards the person who had just held her wrist a moment ago and was about taking her frustration on the person when her eyes suddenly widened and her words became stuck In her throat.
"Sir.." Sally Sue rubbed her eyes again to confirm if the person really sitting in that chair was really a person.
The man slowly raised up his eyes to stare at the woman.
As soon as their eyes met, Sally Sue almost gaped. The man before her was just so damn good looking-no good looking was actually an understatement.
Before, Sally had seen Charles Gu as a man with the body and face of a Greek god, definetly no one could be as handsome as Charles Gu in the whole country. Charles Gu appeared in all magazines and newspapers, everyone knew him to be one of the most handsome and richest CEos in the country.
Surely no beauty could reach his own.
By what Sally Sue was seeing right now was unbelievable.
If Charles Gu was actually the first Greek god to stay in S country, then this man had to be his descendants.
"You scratched my car." The man cold voice rang in her ears.
Sally Sue awoke from her daze, and scratched her head awkwardly, "sorry..it was a mistake... Uhm...i will pay....how much?"
The man leaned on the car seat, a lazy smile on his face, "300thousand dollars."
What!!" Sally Sue almost screamed.
300thousand dollars for just a few scratches!
Immediately Sally Sue felt like her blood instantly dried up.
She was so shocks she couldn't speak for a long while.
The man chuckled coldly, after hearing her reply.
"What? Can't pay? Am giving you a discount."
Sally felt angry with herself, if only she had driven normally, all this wouldn't have happened.
"U-hum... S-sir! Am so sorry!" She bowed her head meekly, "but... Uhm....I-I don't have such amount of money."
"Well then, you should have driven carefully." The corner of the man's lips were up and he looked at her as if she was an amusing comedian.
"Uhm... Sir, I'm really really sorry! I....I...." Sally Sue began stammering.
she knew she had to get to the hospital quick if she wanted to see grandpa, but how the hell could she escape from this man.
Sally Sue stared back into the man's grayish eyes, a look of helplessness over loomed her face "Eh... Sir, I really don't have money now.... Is it possible I er....pay with something else?"
The man eyes glimmered with amusement, he really thought of her as a joke.
The man tilted his head to the side, and then he asked, "what do you intend to pay with?"
Sally Sue was getting frustrated, she really didn't know what to pay him with.
Sally Sue was getting frustrated, she really didn't know what to pay him with.
"Uhm..... Anything."Sally sue said lowering her eyes.
The man seemed to had misunderstood what she said as he leaned his head back on the headboard and said, coldly pronouncing every syllable with his eyes peering into hers;
"your not my type."
Sally Sue froze.
Suddenly, she felt so embarrassed that she wished the ground could just open and swallow her.
How dare this man!
Did he know how many men desired her!
If she wasn't his type, then his type had to be baboons and monkeys
Gritting her teeth, Sally said angrily, "I didn't mean it that way!"
The man smirked, which made Sally Sue grow more annoyed. "Fine then, what do you intend to pay with?"
Sally Sue hesitated for a moment, silently thinking of anything she had on her that she could give him for compensation.
Slowly, her eyes fell down on the diamond necklace on her neck.
It was a necklace that grandpa Gu had made Charles Gu wear her on their wedding day.
She tightened her hand nervously, she couldn't give out the necklace.
It would make grandpa worried. And now that he was sick, making him worry, was the last thing she wanted to do.
Suddenly a bright idea popped into her head. and excitedly she leaned in to the car to suggest her offer, and at that moment her hands slightly brushed his, immediately her fingers slightly grazed his fingertips which resting on the bottom of the window pane, the man retracted his hands.
