Hearing her father howl in the distance slowly brought Eires back to reality. Dropping the barrier that she had held up for what felt like hours, Eires knew she would have to face the music eventually. Eires took in her surroundings and found herself to be on the edge of the reserve. Praying to the moon that her father hasn't been made aware of her activities the previous day, Eires slowly got to her feet. The only person Eires had to convince to keep their mouth shut about her accidentally being part of the mating ritual was Kelsey -as she highly doubt Jason would even admit to being her mate. She didn't know what exactly was the plan, but Eries knew she had better get back to her room before anyone else finds her missing.
Pulling the shadows around her again, Eires made her way back to her room as quickly as she can. She needed to come up with a plan to get Jason alone and have it all be as discreet as possible because she doesn't want neither her father nor Cole finding out. Although the thought of having Jason formally rejecting her made her weak inside, she knew she had better get it over and done with as soon as possible so that they both can move on with their lives. She would just have got to concentrate on her plan of getting into a far away college, starting a whole new live, and leaving the Lycan world behind. Eires made it back to her room and onto her bed just mere seconds before she heard a soft tapping on her door.
"Eiry it's me. Can I come in?" Cole said from the other side of the door.
Messing up her bed to look like she had slept in it, Eires then messed up her hair, kicked off her shoes and pulled on a large hoodie on before letting Cole in. Seeing him bring up a tray of food which she assumed was her breakfast, Eires gave Cole a grateful smile.
"Wow breakfast in bed! And all because I stayed in my room? Maybe I should start listening to you more often if this is what it gets me."
Returning her smile. Cole set the food on her dresser and took a seat on the ottoman at the end of Eires's bed. "Let's just say this is a special occasion and you did promise to stay out of trouble until my birthday."
"Ah didn't think you'd remember that, but yeah sure I suppose a promise is a promise." Eires said trying to keep her cool and not say anything that might give her away.
"Well I did manage to smooth things out with dad. But he did add that it would be best if you could try to stay out of the way until tomorrow when all our out of state guests have left for home." That was pretty standard orders from her dad, it didn't seem like a real punishment. Safe to say that would mean that neither Kelsey or Jason hadn't blabbed about her little misadventure last night -which is definitely a great relief. Giving Cole an unbothered shrug, Eires brought the tray onto her bed and started picking on the spread of food that was in front of her.
Letting out a tired yawn, Cole did a small stretch as he got to his feet. "I'm going to be heading off to bed now. Stay out of trouble Eiry."
"Cole, before you go I was wondering regarding dad's edict did he mention whether the whole house is off limits until tomorrow or just the guest wing and the dining hall?" Eires asked.
"Oh right forgot to tell you, only the ground floor is off limits. The renovations to the guests rooms still aren't done yet and dad had put them up in the La casa hotel downtown." Cole informed her. That's perfect, now she could execute her plan without having to snoop and sneak around in the pack house.
"Yeah that sounds perfectly easy. Oh and Cole just one more thing, I kinda lost my phone at the police station. I mean it should be there cause I can't find it anywhere else." Looking at her with a slight irritation, Cole let out a sigh. "You know sometimes you can be such a pain of a little sister, I haven't gotten any sleep all night. Well come on then I'll drive you there."
"Oh no you don't have to drive me there, I'll just go by myself." Eires said knowing how grumpy Cole can get when he hasn't had enough sleep. He's the same with a lack of food too. Eires wondered whether this applied to all guys or was her brother just a special exception.
"And how are you going to get there? The last I recall you totalled your bike last night." Cole asked almost impatiently.
"I could just run? I mean it's only slightly over 5 miles to the police station. I could get there in like 15 minutes tops" Eires said.
Thinking about it for a second, Cole shook his head. "No I don't think that would be such a good idea, don't want Hank to have even more grounds to investigate us. I'll just take you. Come on let's just go"
"But Cole I have a shift tonight at the bar. I was thinking of going into the police station half an hour before my shift, grab my phone then start work after." Eires insisted.
Looking at her suspiciously, without a word Cole walked out her room. But a few minutes later, Cole appeared with a set of car keys in his hands.
"Here catch." He said as he threw the set of car keys into her hands.
"Take one of the trucks. They're all parked in the back in a small yard behind the omegas quarters. Please stay in your room until you have to leave for your shift alright?" Cole said with a stern look.
"Yeah yeah no worries. I got it. " Eires said with a smile on her face. Nodding at her response, Cole closed the door behind him and left Eires in her room.
