Ares was confused as to what was happening. Not even an hour ago, his sister was trying to distance herself from their mother, and now she was calling their mother, mama, again and crying. Telling her, she knew she was her mother, that she saw it even.
He wanted to question what it truly was that his sister saw to make her so hysterical, but before he could, he felt the softness of Aphrodite’s hand on his. When he turned to her, she lightly shook her head as if telling him to leave it alone for now. He wanted to know what was happening, what he missing, but he took Aphrodite’s silent advice and left his questions at bay for the time being.
“Oh, Helia, my sweet baby girl, I’m so, so sorry. I wanted to tell you so badly, but I didn’t know how you would react or even if I should.”
“It’s okay, mama. I know you and daddy did it to keep me safe. I don’t blame you.”
“Sweetheart, please forgive me. We only wanted your safety.”
