The fight

“Hey, baby,” Nyxie heard when her girlfriend answered the phone.

“Hey. Where’re you at?”

“Just finished work, heading home. Why?”

“Can I come over?” the blonde asked, not waiting for a confirmation as she already spotted a cab, starting to hurry toward it to be the first one in.

“Sure. Everything okay?”

She could hear Gracie eating something on the other side and smiled a bit. “Yeah, everything’s fine, I just need a bit of your help with a project.”

The brunette hummed, “Writing?”

“Yep, just a bit though.”

“Alright. I’ll see you soon.”

“Yeah, bye,” Nyxie said and ended the call, quietly, only to herself, whispering, “I love you.”

It was something she had done for a few weeks already. Nyxie needed to hear herself saying the words in order to believe her feelings were valid and real. Because, if she had only kept it in her head, her idiotic thoughts would have messed it all up, and she would have believed she was stupid for feeling this way.
