Margaret and her siblings received a very good news that Monday morning.

“Someone pledged to pay for your mother’s operation, as well as all the expenses she will incur on her hospitalization here as well as in Manila, until she is fully discharged.”

The three siblings gazed at the doctor.

“But… who could it be?” Bernadet asked.

“Does it even matter?” Miguel asked her sister. “What’s important is that our mother will get healed.”

“It is important,” Bernadet said. “We at least need to thank this person properly.”

“The donor does not want to be identified,” said the doctor.

“But, Doctor, it’s so unfair. I mean, to him,” Bernadet said. “He’s just going to give millions to us without even having anything in return?”

“Let’s just say that there are still good people in this world,” the doctor said.

“But still…” Bernadet looked at Margaret.

“Please, Doctor,” Margaret pleaded. “Can we at least know who made this possible?”
