Chapter Two Chapter Two

Riley woke up a few hours later. She lazily got up to check if Marco had probably returned home. It is rather late, i doubt that Marco would be returning home tonight, she thought, still saddened about what happened earlier in the day.

She went outside and looked up to the beautiful sky. The sun had just set not too long ago. She watched the beauty of the dark blue sky as the stars shimmered in the moonlight and reflected off its bright light. Warm, fresh breeze brushed against Riley's face and played with her loose fitting dress where she stood, watching the sky. After some hours, she went back inside, remembering that she still had to call the doctor to make an appointment with him the next day. She made her way to the golden brocade couch where she had kept her phone, and dialled the doctor's number. The doctor picked up not too long after.

"Oh..Riley, what a pleasant surprise!", it has been quite some time since we last spoke. Is there any problem?, said the doctor, happy as he hasn't spoken to Riley in ages.

Um..nothing, doctor. I would really love to make an appointment with you...let's say, tomorrow morning by 10?

" Sure Riley, 10 am is perfect, though i can't help but wonder what it is you want to say that must be in person.", said the doctor, curious on what must be so important that she couldn't say on phone.

" During our meeting tomorrow, i would explain everything in detail. Do have a wonderful night sir, and i will see you tomorrow."

Okay, no problem, said the doctor as he cut the call. Soon after, Riley made her way to the bedroom she and Marco shared. She looked at her reflection through the large silver mirror which was attached to the peachy pink coloured wall decorated with beautiful embroidery artwork. Don't worry, all your questions and doubts will all be cleared tomorrow after seeing the doctor, i'm sure of it, she said to herself.

The bedroom was quite fanciful. It was curtained on three sides with a sheer material through which the fire outside brightly illuminated the room. Multi coloured rugs covered the floor. It was sparsely furnished with a light blue velvet couch with a long low table. A small cabinet stood in one corner with a single jeweled jewelry chest. Many small pillows of bright colors were scattered on the two couches of the bed. Below the long silver mirror was a cabinet filled with Riley's numerous makeup tools, and there was the large and spacious bed in the center of it all.

She walked towards the bed and lay on it, and used the duvet to cover her body as the night usually brought a lot of cold. She forced herself to sleep remembering what had happened earlier that day. She later brushed it off her mind remembering that she was going to the doctor the next day , and then all her questions would be answered. Sleep overtook her desire to stay awake as she dozed off about a minute later.

Just a few hours after Riley had fallen asleep. Marco drove into the large compound in his BMW car. He got out of the car and headed to the door. I hope Riley is already asleep, I really do not want to confront her yet, he said to himself.

He opened the door as he looked in and checked around. When he didn't see her, he knew that she was probably asleep. Tired and stressed, he headed to the fireplace not far away from where he was standing. He crossed over and took a seat on the couch just opposite the fireplace. He pulled his hair up as he rested his head on the big couch and heaved a deep sigh.

Earlier in the day, after their fight, Marco had decided to find answers to Riley's pregnancy. And he did, but the answers he got just shocked him. Shocked him to his nerves.

I can't believe that i'm not human, and Riley isn't either. This explains why she has been having pregnancy problems, he thought, concerned, as he thought about the pain she must have been going through. I will have to find a way to tell her that she isn't human, she deserves to know.

"You can't tell her yet Marco, not yet, said a voice in his head. The voice was loud and authoritative and it was definitely foreign. It was a type of voice that could make one shake to their knees, a voice that could make one terrified.

"Huh? Who said that?",said Marco, terrified.

I am Tundra, the voice inside your head and your warrior wolf spirit.

I have a wolf spirit inside my body?, said Marco, even more terrified as he began shivering.

"Don't be scared Marco, this is normal."

Normal? Ok-kay, i'm not scared..it's normal, and i'm absolutely fine. Not like i'm hallucinating or something...

"This is not an hallucination, this is real, and the sooner you realize it, the better for you and your wife, Riley."

Ok-kay, it's cool, he stammered, beginning to calm down.

So it's true huh? I actually am not human, and Riley?

"Yes, both you and your wife, Riley are not human and there are a lot of things you don't know both about yourself and your warrior wolf spirits. About the powers you possess and how to harness it. But do not worry, you will find out everything in due time. But i must warn you, you mustn't tell Riley, not yet. I have a reason for my words, i know it must be hard for you but you have to trust me.

Ok-kay, i trust you, Marco stammered. But can I- why can't i inform Riley? This is affecting her pregnancy afterall, said Marco.

No! Tundra exclaimed. You will do nothing of such.

Okay, okay, i get it, said Marco. I really hope you know what you're doing, and even though i don't understand anything about this yet, i hope this won't affect Riley.

No it won't, you just need to trust me. I will always be a part of you, never forget that, said Tundra.

Okay, i will keep that in mind. I just hope Riley will understand when the time comes. But for now, i would just have to apologize to her because all the quarrels we had were my fault, said Marco, feeling guilty, as he headed up to the bedroom to sleep after his very long day.
