" Doctor Mike", Riley said as she snapped the doctor out of his thoughts.
Oh, i'm so sorry about that, i was thinking about the symptoms you explained to me. Mrs Velásquez, we will have to take an ultra scan on your pregnancy before i can make any more comments.
Yeah sure, i can do that right away, said Riley, happy that her questions may get answered after all.
Follow me, the doctor said, as he got up and led her to the room where he would take the scan.
They took a scan of Riley's pregnancy and the results came out just a few minutes after. When Doctor Mike saw the results, he knew that his worst fears had come out true. He was hoping that maybe he was wrong, maybe she wouldn't take on the genes of her parents, but he was wrong. This means that the exact same thing that happened to her mum was going to repeat itself again...but this time, it was worse. Not only did Riley take on the genes of her mum and the exact same pattern of pregnancy, but there were new severe symptoms, symptoms that her mum didn't have during her pregnancy.
Symptoms like the baby already fully mature in 2 months...this was different from the pattern of the pregnancy of Riley's mother. Doctor Mike was confused and he didn't know what to make of the situation. He did know that something was wrong, oddly wrong. Riley's pregnancy should be due in not less than a week! But how was that possible, it didn't happen with her mum, and her mum was a fully bonded werewolf. Though, he was confused, he knew that he would have to help Riley in whatever way he could, to help her deliver, he had to. He later snapped out of his thoughts and then they both proceeded back to his office to analyse the results.
Look, Mrs Velásquez, based on the x-ray scan and ultra scan that was taken, the results reveal something very disturbing.
Wh- What was that, doctor?, Riley stuttered, her voice trembling.
You are right, this pregnancy is not normal, he continued. If i may tell you the truth, this is the rarest type of pregnancy i have ever had to deal with. It seems that your baby is growing really fast, faster than normal, i must say. Inform your husband, you would have to be admitted here. With the look of things, you are going to be due to deliver in not less than a week, the doctor said.
A week?? Is it really that bad? But it's just the 2nd month of my pregnancy..
I know that this is way too much information to take in, but you have to trust me. These results reveal that your baby is fully mature, and is due to give birth soon. Please take a deep breath and listen to me carefully. In one week, come back to the hospital, you would be due by then. Delaying the birth of this child will only lead to more complications. Mrs Velásquez, you will have to trust me, okay?
Ok-Okay doctor, i trust you. I will inform my husband about this, she stammered, confused and shocked both at the same time. She had expected this but she didn't think it would be this bad. Don't worry, you have come to the right person, Doctor Mike will help you deliver safely, and then everything would be over, she said to herself.
I have some other patients to take care of, you can leave for home now. I will make sure to call frequently to be checking up on you, said the doctor.
Riley nodded her head in agreement. Thank you doctor, thank you for everything, i really do appreciate it, she said with a huge smile across her face.
The doctor thought about what he could do about the message he had to tell Riley, because he couldn't yet, and he knew his life was in grave danger. He knew that the possibility that the werewolves had been tracking Riley, Marco and himself was very high. For one, both Marco and Riley were unbonded werewolves. On another hand, he knew about the secret that so many werewolves were disguised as humans, and they probably will want to kill him to prevent their secret from leaking out. But he had to do something. He couldn't let this die with him, or who will tell Riley her real origin stories? I would've failed if i die without informing Riley, i will have to do something, he said, determined more than ever to deliver the message at the right time, rather than fearing for his own life. I know what to do! he said, as he sat down to continue with his work.
