Chapter Six Chapter Six

Riley stood up from the comfy chair she had been sitting in along.

"Doctor Mike, i would take my leave now. Thank you once again for helping me to clear my doubts.", Riley said with a smile.

It's no problem, i'm glad that i still have a chance to help. You were the daughter of my patients after all. You can take your leave now, i will make sure to be calling frequently to check up on you.

Thank you doctor, Riley said as she stepped out of the large office.

There was a large portrait just outside the office on the pitch black wall. Riley stood before it looking into the beautiful pair of sea green eyes flecked with gold. It was the portrait of a lovely woman, Late Lady Tatiana, her coal long black hair flowing over her bare shoulders. Lady Tatiana was the founder of the hospital and she was a lovely, kind and generous woman. Everyone loved her. Though it still amazed Riley how young she had died. She had only died at the young age of 30. She was a very noble woman, and her death had made all that knew her very devastated.

"Why does bad things happen to good people? She was too innocent for her to have died like this.", said Riley, as she thought to herself.

Lady Tatiana had died from a terrible car accident which had surprised everyone. When the police investigated her death, they found that the car was in perfect condition before she drove it, and the roads were perfectly fine, with no bumps or portholes. In fact, the road in which she died in was a clear and free road. And Lady Tatiana knew how to drive very well, so how? How did she die such a horrible death? There had to be an explanation. Since the year she died, the police had been on the case hoping to find answers. An autopsy and a dna test was performed on her later, but there were no signs of poisoning or assassination.

Years later, the police found a note in her apartment she had written on the account of her death, which stated that her life was in grave danger, and either she or anyone will be able to save her from untimely death. This was the break that the police had been looking for, but they didn't have anymore leads. They couldn't do anything, the killer must have been very smart in hiding their tracks. May your perfect soul rest in peace, Lady Tatiana, Riley thought, as she placed her hand on the portrait painting. She had always felt a connection towards her, a feeling that maybe she knew her or vice versa and never met, but she didn't know what this connection was and why she felt that way.

She left the hospital and went towards the Mercedes car she had parked just outside the building. She got into her car and drove home to the two story mansion she and Marco lived in Bloomsbury Square. The house was a bit far from the hospital, like about 100 miles from the hospital, so it would take sometime to get home.

On her way back, she watched the beautiful English landscape. It had been sometime since she had seen such lush countryside. She passed majestic forests and open fields filled with wild flowers of every color. She passed farms surrounded by rich crops and small charming villages. This was rural England, how she loved it!

Almost about 2 hours later, she finally pulled her car to a halt before the beautiful gate to their two story mansion in Bloomsbury Square. Lighted sconces beside the large double doors cast welcoming light into the large compound. She drove in and parked her car decently. She got down from her car and went over to the garden filled with flowers of different types and bent down to savour their smells. The gardener hadn't come to trim the flowers that day, but she didn't mind , she really loved how the flowers created a lot of beauty in the large compound. Riley was happy. Ever since she had noticed the abnormality in her pregnancy, she had been worried, she still is, but most of her worries are cleared as she will be able to give birth very soon.

"Maybe i'm just different from other pregnant women , that's why i am giving birth so early. I'm sure everything is absolutely fine. I only need to tell Marco the good news, i hope he won't take it too seriously.", Riley said as she thought to herself.

She then proceeded to the tall large wooden entrance door surrounded by two large lion statues much to her dismay, but Marco insisted that the lions should be kept there as a form of protection. Riley always thought that was ridiculous and soon after, stopped arguing with him over it. Protection huh? she mumbled. She knocked on the door, there was no response. Maybe Marco wasn't home. She walked in, and checked the fireplace, much to her surprise, he was there lost in deep thoughts. Of all the years she knew Marco, he had a habit of sitting near the fireplace to relieve his stress. Everyone has their ways of relieving their stress. She walked over and called his name.

"Hey Marco!", she said snapping him out of his thoughts.

Oh, you're back, how was your doctor's appointment? Never mind though. we can talk about it over dinner. I hope you haven't forgotten that i'm taking you out for dinner tonight, my sweet? he said, as he approached Riley and held her by the waist.

No, i didn't forget, said Riley, giggling. I was just about to start preparing for it, i'm really looking forward to tonight. It's finally a chance for us to spend sometime together after so long, she said, her cheeks red. On a more serious note, on the account of this pregnancy, there are a lot of things we need to talk about. I'm very confused, said Riley, as she frowned.

Don't worry about it my dear, we will both work things out. Everything will be fine, and we will find solutions. You don't have to worry, Marco said as he hugged Riley tightly. It's getting quite late, i think we should start preparing for our dinner so we can talk about everything.

Yeah sure, i had better start going, she said as she proceeded to the bedroom to put on her outfit.
