Visiting Kari

Ugh, today is Thursday, I have to go to my sister's school after classes are over. I don't even really want to, but I've learned never to mess with that crazy wom... I mean my older sister.

Anyways, classes are almost over. I just have last period then I can go. I don't know why, but I have a feeling that something bad is gonna happen. Huh, well whatever, not like I can do anything to make this feeling go away.

I don't know why the Magic Liberators are after me though. I mean I've only messed up their plans... um... how many times again?

Anyway, the point is, I don't understand why they are after me! I may be a strong Gravity magician, but that is really all I have going for me, I'm still a student in high school after all.

Also, I'm not actively targeting them either. I'm not going out of my way to destroy their organization. In fact, they are the ones who keep messing with the people around me!

Is this gonna be one of those stupid "courting death" things where they attack and try to kill me because I hurt one of their people when they are the ones who attacked first? I've always hated that trope. It's honestly so cliche.

Well, there is nothing I can do about it. I'll just pretend that everything is fine. Although, if they are gonna keep attacking me like this, I'm gonna have to think of a permanent solution.

I could just find their base of operations and swallow it in a huge black hole. That might work. But that would be murder, so that's probably off the table. The world would be better off for it, but not me. I don't wanna go to prison.

The second option would just be to keep them out of this area. I don't know how I would do that, but keeping them out would be helpful. If they can't enter the city where I live, then I will be a lot safer, but I don't think Gravity magic can only block out Magic Liberators.

First off, I don't know all of their identities, and second of all that would require gravity specifically targeting certain individuals. If it was one thing or person with my amount of MP, maybe, but a whole sustainable barrier that is up 100% of the time, no way.

Well. That leaves the third option. Wait for the Magic Liberators to come to me, and deal with them then. I don't really have another option, do I?

I don't know where they are, who they are, or what they are doing. So, I just have to wait for them to make a move and do something then.

"Hey Jess, are you doing anything after school?"

"Hmm? Oh, it's you William. Yeah, I'm going to my sister's school, she needs me for something apparently."

"Oh, okay. See you tomorrow."

"Bye."

What was that about? Oh well. The bell has finally rung, time to get out of here. Now, I have no idea how I am getting to the school, can't exactly teleport to places I've never been before, I'll find out when I get home.

===

"Well, I'm home. How are we getting to your school, Kari?"

"Well, I know you can't teleport there, it would be illegal anyway. Teleportation machinery is banned there because you can't just teleport into a place like that uninvited, it would be bad for security. I'm pretty sure that expands to your magic too."

"Yeah, but how are we getting there."

"By magi-tech of course. Here, watch this."

Kari pulls out what looks like a pill, twists it, and throws it at the ground. From there a vehicle pops out. It looks like a car, but no wheels.

"It's my newest invention, Capsule-Storage, Trademark."

"I've never watched Dr*gon B*ll, but this feels like a rip-off for some reason."

"You're overthinking it."

"Okay..."

We get in the not-car and she turns on the engine. Okay, I have no idea how this thing will drive, it has no wheels after all. Is it gonna hover, fly, or possibly explode? You never know with something my sister made.

The answer? Well, it flies. I'm not that surprised, with a car that has no wheels, that is the obvious answer. But seriously, I do wonder how this thing flies. Is it Wind magic, Gravity magic, Space magic? I don't know.

Well, this will be a long drive... or is it flight?

So I just realized, I have no idea what college my sister goes to. Well, I knew before the Shift, but afterwards... not so much. I mean, I don't know to what extent things like that changed. For all I know, my sister could be going to a totally different college.

Well, even if I don't know, I'm gonna see. We just arrived at the place. Let's see...

And... it's some place called Sky Blue University. Well, I think I remember that Sky Blue University is one of the best places to learn Magi-tech so that makes sense for my sister to go there.

My sister must be in one weird class for everyone to just invite their siblings. Is that even allowed? She said it's a magical engineering class. Hmm... you know what, if my sister is involved, it's best not to question it.

"So, what will we be doing, you brought up that everyone is inviting their siblings, but that still doesn't explain why everyone is doing so. Is that even allowed?"

"It's allowed. It's tradition to do this after all."

"To force your siblings to do something that they don't wanna do?"

"Not that. You'll see, my classmates and I planned this to keep the tradition."

"Okay..."

After getting out of the flying car and walking for a while, we finally made it to the classroom that my sister's class will be using today. That took a while.

"Well, we're at my class party."

"Party?"

"Yeah, it is a tradition in the magical engineering class to throw a party near the end of the school year and invite our siblings."

"Okay, but why didn't you tell me."

"Then you wouldn't have come."

"Oh yeah... and there is a good reason for that. What do you expect me to do? Interact with people?"

"If you want, you can just hang out around the food corner."

"Kay, I guess if I'm here I might as well grab some food."

Huh, I'm having a bad feeling. I better place a barrier over this place just in case. It will be a simple one that bends the space around the area so people will turn around when trying to walk through the barrier.

Now, you can counter this barrier by walking in circles through the barrier, but no one would be stupid enough to do that.

Ooh, they have ice cream.
