It took Wen Ning two days to finally let it sink in.

War, there was a possibility that war would befall Zhenbou and Wen Ning is freaking out. How could he not. He has gone through many battles in his life and he died just after the war was declared over. He thought after death he could finally relax but then he gets the news that high chances of war would occur. No, no way is he going to go through that hell again!

At first, he thought A-Jia had misheard this but it quickly pulled out an item that shows moving images (with voices too!) which A-Jia calls a 'video recording' and Wen Ning preceded to watch intensively (with a bit of childish curiosity on how the video works) what the court session's decisions were until it ended with the emperor dismissing the court. A-Jia also pointed out to him who Bai Yujin's father was and Wen Ning realised that Liu Li Feng was kneeling beside the man when the image was pointed. Wen Ning watches how Liu Li Feng's impression changes, just slightly that no one could see it if they weren't up close. He was angry and barely suppressing himself from voicing out his true thoughts.

Wen Ning touches Liu Li Feng's image and caress it, feeling downhearted. He wishes he could have been there accompanying Liu Li Feng, calming him down but Wen Ning knows his presence would not be appreciated after the fight they had. Wen Ning doubts Liu Li Feng would want to see his face. Its better to avoid the man as much as possible. Wen Ning cannot afford to mix Lan Wangji and Liu Li Feng in the same category; Liu Li Feng is Liu Li Feng and Lan Wangji is Lan Wangji. Two completely different people who just so happens to have similar facial features. Wen Ning keeps that as a reminder to himself, it is better this way.

So, after that he begins thinking and planning until two day have gone and he still can't think up anything.

He is completely screwed.

"A-Jia, you told me this was going to be an easy task. Were you lying to me?" Wen Ning whines out as his head is place on the table, looking miserable. A-Jia nervously plays with his fingers as he too had his head down, looking sheepish. "A-Jia didn't lie! This world is easy, it's a grade D world. So, technically…its easy," it nods to itself, seeming convince of its own words. Wen Ning lifts his head so that his chin is now on the table, narrowing his eyes to a nervous A-Jia who is avoiding Wen Ning's gaze. "Grade D world equals war huh. Whats next? Grade C world means the apocalypse?" "Now that is just exaggerating Master," A-Jia murmurs to himself.

Wen Ning puts his face back to the table and sadly, whines again

Suddenly, the door to his room opens. Rou Mei looks at Wen Ning's state and ignores his whining. "Young master, its time for your medicine," she places a small plate of paper sachets fill with powder medicines on the table and gives him a glass of water. Without Rou Mei looking, Wen Ning quickly replace one of the medicines with a sachet fill with his own concoction and gives the one he took to A-Jia to be kept in his pocket portal. He swallows the powder and almost gags with how bitter it is. This seems to satisfy Rou Mei and she watches as Wen Ning continues with the rest of his medicine as he drinks tons of water to dilute the bitter taste

"So bitter! Rou Mei, I can't take this anymore," Wen Ning whines but Rou Mei just gives him that evil smile of hers. "Its good for you and the baby so stop whining young master," she says this and then places a plate of small cakes on the table.

"A reward for finishing the medicine,"

"Do you think I will be trick that easily?"

"Is it working?"

"Yes,"

Wen Ning is a slave for food.

As he eats the sweets, Wen Ning keeps mumbling to himself which caught Rou Mei's attention. She tiredly sighs and gives an impatient look at him. "What is it now young master?" Wen Ning looks up at her with sparkling eyes and begins chatting. "Hmm Rou Mei, have you heard any news recently?" Wen Ning asks in a sweetly sugary tone that has Rou Mei giving him a confusing look. "No I don't think so. Just that the soldiers that were sent out recently return today with bruises and cuts on their bodies. Poor men got ambushed by unknown groups out of nowhere," Rou Mei shakes her head in sympathy. That got Wen Ning's attention. "Oh my! Are their injuries that bad?" he presses on asking. "Some. I heard that they have too few helpers handling it and just two doctors overseeing treatment. They are in dire need of a helping hand," "I can help!"

Rou Mei nearly slips the plates from her hand when she started cleaning up. She was able to avoid it and promptly gives a surprise look to Wen Ning who was embarrass by his outburst. "No, you will not," plates still in hand, she stands as she puts a hand on her waist and has on a 'no nonsense' look. She narrows her eyes towards Wen Ning to convey her seriousness.

Wen Ning cannot back down now. "Why not? I would be a big help and Doctor Jian says I have talent for medicine," which was true. The doctor who had helped him during his coma saw Wen Ning collecting herbs at his garden during a check up and was surprise with Wen Ning's knowledge of herbs and medicines. Of course, Wen Ning lied saying he just learned a few things from books but that got the doctor's attention. He was even more delighted when he found out Wen Ning made plenty of salves, like the one he used for his bruised wrist and wanted to buy them from Wen Ning (after the doctor checked if the ingredients were not harmful). Wen Ning didn't want money since he was given monthly allowances by the royal treasury for being Liu Li Feng's wife and there was still a lot from his family before the marriage. In exchange, Wen Ning asked the doctor to take him as an apprentice.

Despite having plenty of knowledge from being taught by his sister Wen Qing, Wen Ning knew that this world and his original world had different approach to medicine. Cultivation, rare herbs and monster parts made a pill or medicine powder more potent but here, Wen Ning had to return back to basic. Honestly, it was kind of fun. True, the process was slow but being able to make antidotes and salves from scratch while learning new methods of medication from this world made Wen Ning eager to learn, not just of medicine but other stuff that his own world did not have. It's exciting.

"Young master, reading something is different compare to experiencing it. Please, do not delude yourself. I almost wish you go back to being your previous quiet self just to safe me from gaining a headache with me constantly worrying about you," she sighs tiredly to herself, walking out of the room not wanting to continue the conversation. Wen Ning's mouth opens in shock and he huffs out. "I'll show you Rou Mei! You'll be surprise when I actually become a doctor," Wen Ning says out loudly, hoping Rou Mei hears his declaration as he crosses his arms, annoy from not being taken seriously.

Just because he is in Bai Yujin's body, everyone is treating him with kid's glove; fragile and weak. It's not really anyone's fault but his for ending up in this body so he just has to deal with it. Doesn't mean he has to like being treated like a child.

Wen Ning taps his chin. What should he do now? As he stares into space, his gaze lands on the box of salves he has been making for the doctor. Hmm, the doctor did say he wouldn't be able to check up on Wen Ning since he would be busy at the army's infirmary this week and what are the odds that a group of soldiers were just injured today. Also, he hasn't meet Bai Yujin's father yet and with todays incident, Wen Ning bets the guy was there. He grins to himself, finally finding a breakthrough.

Wen Ning stands up suddenly, surprising A-Jia who was sitting on the table. He holds A-Jia on the palm of his hand and the sugar glider just tilts its head in confusion to Wen Ning who keeps smiling.

"A-Jia, lets visit the soldiers,"

*****

"Master…we're lost,"

A-Jia, who was sitting on Wen Ning's head, complains for the fourth time. Wen Ning looks around and all he sees are trees. He hasn't seen one person ever since he steps foot in the location where A-Jia said the soldiers' train. He gazes up to A-Jia who is scratching its head.

"I thought you said this was the right way?"

"A-Jia got confuse,"

"How can you get confuse when you've been here before?"

"All the trees look the same,"

Wen Ning's right eye twitches in disbelieve. He takes a deep breath and calms himself. He continues walking, trying to find the forest exit while carrying a box of salves. He thought he should make A-Jia keep it in his portal but he worries if someone sees him without the box and with it after, explaining that would be tiresome.

Luck seems to be on Wen Ning's side when he stumbles across a field. It seems to be an archery training range since he can see dummies with targets place on them and one of the dummies had arrows pierced through it. A set of archery equipment was place beside the dummy haphazardly as if the person who use it was in a rush. He places the box he held under a tree nearby the dummies.

Wen Ning walks towards the pierced dummy and look at the target points. This person seems to be talented. All the arrows went through the bullseyes except for a few. "Someone seems to be practicing," he murmurs. His fingers touch the arrow and a fond expression appears on his face as he remembers back the last time he held a bow and arrow.

After he became a fierce corpse, he could not wield a bow due to his numb muscles. It was frustrating to not be able to train the one skill he was proud of but he kept his mind busy with other skills like cooking and medicine making. Still, archery will always have a special place in his heart.

His fingers twitch as he again looks at the bow beneath the dummy. He slowly bends down and picks the bow. He admires the craftmanship of the wood and Wen Ning could see how the owner takes special care of the bow despite the often use of it. 'They must be a hardworking and caring person,' Wen Ning muses. He looks left and right of his surrounding, afraid if there was anyone around and when he certain that no one is around, Wen Ning giggles excitingly. Wen Ning walks a far distance from a new dummy with arrows in his hand. When he figures this distance was alright, he begins to prepare his body in an archer's stand.

A-Jia looks at him weirdly as he holds onto Wen Ning's bangs and flips its body upside down till their eyes meet. "What are you doing master?" it asks, curious with its master's excitement. "That's dangerous A-Jia and also, I just want to test myself. Don't laugh if I can't hit the target," Wen Ning says as he shoos A-Jia to the side and reminds the creature to inform him if anyone is around their vicinity. Now he can play!

He takes a deep breath and exhales slowly. He concentrates on the target in front of him, breathing in and out and keeping himself focus and calm. He lifts his arms and slowly pulls the arm holding the bowstring back. He keeps his position fix, steadily targeting his arrow at the bullseye and taking his time to remember the feeling he used to have when it comes to archery. His arms are numb from keeping up with this position but he follows through, since this is how his ritual starts when he releases the first arrow.

Inhale, exhale. Inhale, exhale. Finally, release.

Thunk!

Wen Ning's eyes grow big and he lets out a happy laugh. "Bullseye!" he excitingly exclaims to a surprise A-Jia. A-Jia just lifts a shaky paw and looks at Wen Ning and then back to the target several times. "Master! That was amazing!" A-Jia jumps up and down, it was surprise that the arrow had hit the target but it shares its master excitement. "My skills are a bit rusty but I still have it in me. I'm going to continue a bit longer," he cheerily says as he gets ready to release the next arrow.

30 minutes have pass and Wen Ning is still shooting arrows. Even when A-Jia has reminded him this, Wen Ning was too preoccupied with his archery until he couldn't feel the hidden presence of someone watching him. The person has been watching Wen Ning ever since he released the first arrow.

Sun Junjie left his equipment at the range because he just gotten news that groups of soldiers have been injured upon their return. He rushed back to the training ground and made his way to the infirmary but he was denied from entering due to how overpacked the room inside was. He asked one of the young medical apprentices to tell him what happen but even the kid didn't have any idea. Sun Junjie decided to wait for Liu Li Feng to tell him since the second prince is responsible for all the soldiers that are currently in the castle area. Although it was never said by General Bai, everyone knew the second prince was given that responsibility when General Bai left with a small group to scout with an order of 'take care of things here and make sure to stay out of trouble,'. That old man is sure fierce.

So, feeling downhearted, Sun Junjie walked back to the range to pick up his equipment and stumbled upon a war goddess (well, for Junjie that cutie is a goddess). He hides behind some bushes as he shamelessly watches a young man picking up his bow and walk a fair distance from a dummy free of arrows. There the goddess stood; his back arch and his arm show strength as he pulled back the bowstring. His form was beautiful as he breaths slowly and steadily as his gaze concentrates on the red target (Junjie wonders how it feels to have those eyes on him). Finally, his fingers release the string and the strong sound of the arrow releasing makes him take notice and he almost made his presence known when he shouts out in excitement together with the young man when the arrow pierced the centre.

But all of that cannot be compare to when the young man emits a beautiful laugh that makes Sun Junjie's entire body stop. Junjie could see how their eyes were shining brightly and his aura free of worries. The man's excitement was contagious, effecting himself too. Just from archery, the goddess releases a childish delight. Junjie wonders what else that could make them smile like that again.

So he continues to watch, hiding himself, afraid if his presence scares the man away but then suddenly, without him noticing, an arrow shoots itself towards him and pierces the tree behind Junjie, itches away from his head. Surprise, Sun Junjie drops on his butt and shakily looks up to the arrow on the tree. Even in such a state, his lips start to form a grin.

"Come out! Stop watching and face me you coward,"

Ouch! Cutie, stop saying such words that hurts a man's pride.

Wen Ning stands ready, his arm pulls back ready to release the next arrow. A-Jia told him he heard rustling sounds from the bushes behind him and Wen Ning's discreetly glances at the area. He sees a figure hiding behind the bushes, watching him. Instinct took over Wen Ning and without questions ask, he shoots a warning shot aim just beside the person's face.

After calling out to the person, Wen Ning just waits. Seconds past by and then a figure stood up. He slowly walks through the bushes, grinning with both hands up in surrender and Wen Ning's breath hitches. That couldn't be…

"Great archery! Your shots are brilliant,"

'A-Ning, your archery is brilliant! Even if you're a corpse now, you are still the best archer I have ever known,'

Wen Ning hands shake causing the bow and arrow he was holding to fall to the ground. He grips the fluffy golden black jacket to his body and stares in surprise at the man in front of him. Is he imagining? Is this a dream?

The same mischievous eyes, the playful attitude, that bright and lovely smile and the same soothing voice that never fails to calm down Wen Ning. He doesn't care if that king is playing jokes with him. Wen Ning is already close to hyperventilating. If Liu Li Feng nearly made him pass out, this guy will surely make him go back into a coma. "Master, you are being very dramatic right now," A-Jia looks up from Wen Ning's chest pocket. "Shut up A-Jia! Can't you see how tense I am?!" Wen Ning whispers harshly to A-Jia who looks like it was about to cry. The little sugar glider hides himself in the pocket. "Shi-, A-Jia sorry. I apologize, I didn't mean t-," "Hey, you okay?"

Wen Ning quickly looks up and lets out a small scream when he is face to face with the man. The man backs away, surprise with Wen Ning's reaction and he slowly moves a few steps back, hands still up. He chuckles a bit and scratches his head. "Sorry, sorry. You were mumbling and I was curious with what you were saying," he smiles brightly at Wen Ning, trying to show that he meant no harm.

Sun Junjie notices how the young man was shaking in nervousness and his eyes show how afraid he is. Does this person know him? This is a first for anyone to react to him in such a way. 'He looks like a small, fluffy mouse, all shaky and cute,' Sun Junjie thinks to himself, his smile growing bigger as he imagines the cutie as a mouse. "Stop smiling like Wei-gongzi, you imposter!" a loud shout makes him snap out.

Wen Ning can't. This man just looks like Wei Ying so much. Yes, there are slight differences but who cares, not Wen Ning! He could handle a Lan Wangji doppelgänger but a Wei Ying…just kill him now and end his misery. Yep, A-Jia was right, at this point he is a drama queen. He glares at the sky, knowing that damn king is just watching him and enjoying his inner turmoil. Probably all of his doing. Effing great!

Wen Ning looks back at the man and gives a chilling glare that does not seem to dampen their mood. He huffs and stomps back to where he had put his box. He lifts it and slyly looks back, his eyes meeting with the other doppelgänger who now has his hands down but is still shamelessly watching him. He quickly avoids their eyes and walks towards a direction, not caring if he got lost, just wanting to get away. As Wen Ning walks a few steps, the man voices out. "If you're trying to find the soldier's training ground, you're heading at the opposite direction," he says innocently. Wen Ning steps falter and he stood at that spot for a moment before turning back to the other direction, walking pass the man who is hiding his laughter.

'How cute!' Sun Junjie quickly runs toward the goddess, not before picking up his archery equipment, and takes the box from him. Before the young man could complain, he puts a finger on those lips silencing them. "You look tired so I'll carry this for you. Also, its better if I guide you to the grounds before you get lost. This place can be confusing to navigate if you are not use to it," he says, ignoring the small slap to his hand which had touch those lips. The glare from this fellow just makes him adorable. Sun Junjie walks towards the correct path slowly, waiting for the young man to make a move. He hears the shuffle of feet following him closely and then matches his steps with them until Sun Junjie is walking beside him.

Wen Ning keeps his eyes down, avoiding looking at the man beside him. A-Jia seems to have forgiven him since it is telling Wen Ning who this person is. He'll give A-Jia sweets when they return back as an apology.

Without A-Jia telling, Wen Ning can guess who this person is and how they are connected to Bai Yujin. Its obvious who they are. "My name is Sun Junjie, a soldier. You?" Sun Junjie says, patiently waiting for Wen Ning's reply. Wen Ning ignores him and keeps walking but this does not seem to make the man dishearten. "Not much of a talker. I understand, the cold makes it hard to talk. That's okay, I don't mind doing all the talking," he laughs a little. Ignore, ignore! He'll stop talking if I ignore him.

Alas, this is just the beginning.

"They make us run in the cold! Cruel, right?"

"I smuggle in alcohol during the first year of training and was caught drinking after my third bottle. Ended up drinking the rest with the guy who gave me the punishment,"

"You're really pretty. Has anyone said that to you? Of course someone did. A person has to be stupid to not realise how pretty you are,"

"I hope it starts snowing. I know winter just began but still, kinda excited to throw snowballs at people,"

Chattering, non stop chattering. How the heck can this person still be talking when Wen Ning is trying to avoid biting his tongue, shivering from this coldness. Plus, Wen Ning feels annoy since this guy is a few inches taller than him and has a lean build. Probably has muscles too. Wen Ning looks at his body. He was short and fleshy, no muscles at all. He could blame it in being pregnant but Wen Ning knows Bai Yujin never really cared about his body. Wen Ning doesn't mind not having muscles but can he at least be taller. He is not use to looking up at people, usually he is the one taller than the rest.

"Your form is beautiful. You shot all those arrows at the red target like it was that easy. How long have you been training?" Sun Junjie asks, glancing at Wen Ning with that smile of his. Wen Ning has been avoiding looking at the man because he knows that one look from the man will make Wen Ning answer any question he asks. No one, especially Wen Ning can say no to that look. He sighs and answers although relented.

"…Just recently,"

Sun Junjie brightens, finally able to get the young man to talk but a moment later, realising the answer, he was surprise.

"You're lying!"

"No I'm not," well yes he is but can he really say he has been practicing archery since he was young when Bai Yujin has never touch a bow before. No he cannot.

"That's…doesn't that mean you're a genius? Cause even now I can't get all the arrows in the centre and I've been training since I join the army,"

"Hardwork and patience pays off,"

"Hmm, I guess you're right. But! Give me a difficult situation and I promise to get you out of trouble with the least damage possible," Sun Junjie smirks and puffs out his chest. Wen Ning can see how proud Sun Junjie is with his quick thinking and mind skill. He cannot help smiling a bit which is notice by Sun Junjie who feels giddy with delight.

"A tactician?" Wen Ning questions.

Sun Junjie thinks for a while but he finally nods, albeit not confidently. "Umm, well I'm the second prince's right-hand man in our platoon and the one usually making plans during training exercises. So yes, I guess," Wen Ning feels sorry for the man and slowly pats his back a few times. "Have confidence. The prince wouldn't have made you his second in command if you were useless," Sun Junjie laughs out loud and Wen Ning can't help but join in the laughter. His laughter is addicting, the same laughter Wei Ying has. He sighs, giving up on thinking and just letting himself follow through this. If the king intends on playing with his emotions, let him be. Wen Ning will consider this as making up new memories despite how bittersweet it is.

Sun Yunjie hesitates a bit but decides to ask the question that has been bothering him. "Wei-gongzi, you say I look like him. Is he your master?" The young man tenses and his face changes when he hears the name but then he just sighs and narrow his eyes at Sun Junjie. "He is…a very important person. That is all I can say," their tone hardens, indicating the finality of that topic. Not feeling dishearten, Sun Junjie nods understanding.

Wen Ning knows he is being too harsh but that is something he does not wish to speak further. To lighten the mood, Wen Ning decides to use this opportunity to get to know Liu Li Feng and Sun Junjie so it will make his task a bit easier. He lowers his ground and acts as usual. No point in being prickly at this point. "Tell me about the second prince," Wen Ning says, his gaze looking ahead while he rubs his belly. This action is notice by Sun Junjie but he does not question it.

Sun Juniie knows he should not speak to people when it comes to Liu Li Feng but he can't help himself when the beauty is finally opening up to him. He will avoid telling him about Liu Li Feng too deeply and just talk about the normal stuff. Forgive me Liu-er gege! I'll make it up to you tonight.

Sun Junjie walks closer to Wen Ning and smiles slyly. "Well~ the first time I met the second prince is when we first started in the army. He was this serious and stiff person who wouldn't even smile. That face of his is as inexpressive as he is now but he has loosened up a bit. A week into training, me and him got into a fight just because I told him that his sword stance was wrong because he had a stick up his butt. Really, he can't take a joke! We got punish with cleaning the horse stables for 2 weeks but I guess that's what started our friendship. It wasn't easy I tell you. He was easily anger and stubborn but I finally got him to call me his friend. Now, he has mellowed quite a bit but still as stubborn as ever and during training, he is too strict! I'm the one who has to tell him the guys need rest. We all can't have high stamina like him," Sun Junjie complains, already tired when he recalls back the memories during his youth with Liu Li Feng.

Wen Ning looks at Sun Junjie and giggles. "Despite you saying all that, I can see that you care very much for the prince," as Wen Ning says this, he could see how Sun Junjie's eyes turns to warm adoration. "When you spend your whole childhood with a stone-faced person, you get use to their quirks and attitude. Despite being serious and sometimes heartless, he is loyal and protective. He strives for justice that others can't help but think highly of him and be attracted to. When he makes up his mind on something, he follows through it and even the troublesome me he treats with respect and kindness. No matter what happens, I have made a promise to follow him in this life and I will keep at it until the day I die. And he too has made the same promise to me," Sun Junjie smiles to himself, the image of Liu Li Feng making him slightly blush, not noticing how Wen Ning was sadly looking down on the ground. No matter what universe they are at, those two, their relationship never changes, precious and meant to be.

"How lucky of you to find such a person in your life," Wen Ning says this, wishing he too had something like them. Maybe he would have been happier if he had given someone a chance to love. Sun Junjie notices Wen Ning's downcast look and slyly slips his free arm around Wen Ning's waist, surprising Wen Ning in return. "Now, now beauty, don't be sad. Aren't you lucky too? You have my full attention," Sun Junjie winks at him and Wen Ning playfully slaps at Sun Junjie's chest while emitting a soft laugh. "Such a flirt. Your lover must have their hands full with your charms attracting others," "Ah, just a little harmless flirting. They know I'm loyal to them and have my heart in the grip of their hand. You don't mind right?" Wen Ning taps Sun Junjie's nose. "No harm done. Do continue," he playfully says to Sun Junjie who grins widely.

"Yujin," the goddess says to Sun Junjie while rubbing their belly. Sun Junjie's heart skips a beat. The goddess has finally told him his name. Yujin, so beautiful. The name suits this person; fiery and warm, small yet feisty. Very suitable. A small and warm ember. Yet, Sun Junjie can't help but think that he should know this name and how he should have kept his distance far from Yujin but he couldn't, this person beside him has attracted him the same way Liu Li Feng had when they first met and Sun Junjie does not know why. That's fine, he just wants to get to know this person, maybe gaining a friend. Nothing will go wrong.

Sun Junjie pulls Wen Ning's waist closer to him and smiles down at the bemuse Yujin. "Thank you for telling me your name cutie," he winks again and Wen Ning just slaps that naughty hand which still doesn't want to let go. "Flirt. Anyway, you must have more stories of Liu Li Feng. Tell me about your life in the army and how he was like back then," Wen Ning waits eagerly for the stories. Sun Junjie snorts and begins first by retelling the tale of a mud-soaked Liu Li Feng.

Yes, nothing can go wrong.

*****

"He really did that?"

"Yes! He stole back our alcohol and allow our group to drink that night. Even join us. That is the only time we can get Liu Li Feng to have fun and be more honest. He's a lightweight, so it is very funny how easily he changes when he is drunk. Oh look, we are finally here,"

Sun Junjie points out at the open training ground in front of them. At the center, soldiers are sword training in pairs and Wen Ning can't help but flinch with every sharp sound of clashing swords. Sun Junjie notices this and quickly moves them farther from the centre, walking at the side. As they walk, there were some who were doing hand to hand training while being watch by a senior soldier, judging from the loud berate by them to a soldier from what Wen Ning sees. "So, we're here. Where are you actually heading?" Sun Junjie says this as he nods to the greetings of soldiers as they walk pass them.

Every soldier that sees them have saluted to Sun Junjie and this seems to be a normal occurrence. Being Liu Li Feng's right-hand man sure ranks him higher than any soldier, Wen Ning guesses. "Infirmary please," Wen Ning voices softly as he gives a smile and small wave to a group of junior soldiers who have been watching him since his arrival. They jolted in surprise, blushing yet enthusiastically wave back at him but then freeze and promptly salute. Wen Ning tilts his head in confusion but as he gazes up, he sees a chilling smile directed towards the juniors who he had just waved at. He also notices the tight grip to his waist which hurts a bit so he pinches Sun Junjie's hand hard, warning him. The man lets out a small shout and pouts at Wen Ning. "Stop scaring them," Wen Ning scolds Sun Junjie who looks regretful, apologising for his childishness. They continue to walk towards the infirmary but not before Sun Junjie looks back at those soldiers and just lifts out three fingers to them. The young soldiers see this and rushes to run around the training ground, following the order in which they have to run three laps. Second Commander Sun is a demon!

Finally, they arrive at the infirmary after being accosted by several soldier friends of Sun Junjie who keeps stopping them to ask questions regarding 'the beauty accompanying their second commander'. Sun Junjie had to shoo them all away but they finally disperse after Wen Ning explains that Sun Junjie was just showing him to the infirmary. "Here it is. Really, those brats act as if they never seen a cutie like you before," he says, annoy with the attention those guys were giving to Yujin and Yujin was so nice, smiling and soft spoken, not like how he acted with Sun Junjie before. He was jealous and quickly took Yujin away from those menaces.

"I doubt they would think that. Well, thank you for everything; taking me here and telling me about the second prince's soldier days. I appreciate it very much. Now, you can let me go. I can take it from here," Wen Ning tries to separate himself from Sun Junjie but the grip on his waist is still firm. He sighs and gives an incredulous look to the sheepish looking man. "Umm, maybe I should follow you in? I kind of was thinking of entering here again after they push me out earlier," Sun Junjie explains, trying his best to convince Wen Ning which fails. "Whatever," Wen Ning murmurs while he rolls his eyes, dragging Sun Junjie in.

Inside, people are running around from bed to bed, tending to the many injure soldiers. Wen Ning's heart fell in distress as he sees the scene and his instinct to help makes him unconsciously move forward but is stop by Sun Junjie, who shakes his head. "You can't. We have to meet the head doctor first okay? I know you want to help but be patient," Sun Junjie explains.

There is proper procedure to these things and although Sun Junjie would have not care in the first place, Yujin was different. He knows Yujin is a civilian and he is suppose to not even be here but Sun Junjie at least wants to avoid the young man from receiving punishment for helping without being authorize to. That at least he can do.

Wen Ning reluctantly nods in understanding and after asking a medical apprentice where Doctor Jian is, they enter into the room where he is attending to a few soldiers. "Doctor Jian!" When he sees Doctor Jian, Wen Ning escapes from Sun Junjie's hold and runs excitedly to the doctor. He hugs the doctor's arm which surprises Doctor Jian and is ready to scold the person before he sees that it was Wen Ning. "Bai Yujin, you're here! Wh-what happen?! Did you get hurt? Are you feeling sick again?" the doctor frantically asks Wen Ning, checking his status while the person being worried just smiles brightly to the doctor. "No, I'm fine. Its just I heard about what happen to the returned soldiers and thought if these could help," Wen Ning looks back at Sun Junjie and calls for him to bring the box. Sun Junjie brings it and sets on the nearby table, his usual bright smile on his face but Wen Ning does not notice the hidden glare he has on the doctor. The doctor notices this but ignores the look as he focuses on Wen Ning. "Oh young master, you didn't need to but thank you. We are nearly out of the ones you made last time so this is perfect timing," the doctor says, still letting Wen Ning hold onto his arm.

Doctor Jian secretly looks at an angry Sun Junjie who is still glaring a hole at his arm, as if wishing he could cut it off. The doctor gulps in nervousness. This situation was exactly the same during the first medical check-up and Liu Li Feng had threaten him bodily harm if he touches Bai Yujin any longer than needed. It seems Bai Yujin has attracted two very dangerous people without him noticing; the Demon Commander of Zhenbou, Liu Li Feng and Fox Sun Junjie. He shivers remembering what happened to their past enemies who have faced these two 'monsters'. A sudden tap to his arm makes him pay attention back to the child holding his arm.

Wen Ning tilts his head to the side, worry clearly in his eyes seeing the nervousness emitting from the doctor but he shakes it off since he actually came here with a purpose. "Doctor Jian, I came here to help. You promise to take me as an apprentice and what better time to help than now," Wen Ning explains, his petite body vibrates with the urge to help. The doctor's eyes shines hearing this but then his excitement dulls down when he remembers something. "Well young master, I would really love to have you here helping but it seems you have to ask permission from someone first," the doctor pats his head, already knowing what will happen.

Wen Ning gives a confuse look to the doctor, not hearing A-Jia's voice urging him to look behind them. "Who?" "Me,"

Wen Ning tenses upon hearing that voice. Memories from Bai Yujin's youth assaults him suddenly. The voice triggering memories of Bai Yujin trying to get that one person's attention and love since he was young until now. Cold sweat appears on his forehead, which A-Jia wipes away using a small handkerchief from who knows where. Wen Ning slowly looks back and is greeted with the General of Zhenbou, Bai Chao, looking disgruntle. There beside the older male is Liu Li Feng, his eyes in surprise when he sees Wen Ning standing there and holding Doctor Jian's arm.

Sudden anger appears but it stops when Liu Li Feng realizes who else was inside the room with them, Sun Junjie. He wants to pull them apart, not wanting the both to be near each other but Liu Li Feng hesitates. First because he doesn't want to make a scene and second, he doesn't know which one he wants to bring away.

"General Bai!" Sun Junjie salutes. The general ignores him and walks towards Yujin, pulling him off the doctor's arm and gives a scowl to the poor, innocent doctor. 'Good job general!' Sun Junjie thinks. General Bai looks at Yujin, the disgruntle look disappearing and fixes Yujin's hair and clothes, humming in satisfaction. "Hello Yujin," General Bai says in a soft tone that Sun Junjie has never heard from the man ever since he steps foot in the army. Yujin looks down, shyly looking up from under his eyelashes as he gives a small smile to the general. "Hi father,"

Hearing the word father, Sun Junjie's body grows cold. He looks at both General Bai and Yujin back and forth, seeing the similarities in looks and sees the uncomfortable gaze Liu Li Feng has. He steps back, finally putting the pieces together. That's why Yujin looks familiar. He has only seen this person once and had erase the memories of that wedding from his mind. Yujin; this adorable goddess he had spent time with, who possess immerse talent in archery, who has the most beautiful smile he has ever seen and the feistiest of attitude is the one and only Bai Yujin. The Bai Yujin; who is the wife of Liu Li Feng and the one who had married Sun Junjie's lover.

"Shit,"

And he thought nothing could go wrong.
