The duke's move

The crown prince moved away from the prince's quarters. He was concerned about getting back to the room and reuniting with Winrus.

As of that moment his brother was busy talking to the king about ending slavery. Malcer was many things but most of all, he cared about his brother and wanted him to be happy.

In that moment that happiness came from being with Winrus who happened to be a slave and hence the effort.

Since slaves weren't allowed to love or have a relationship, his brother was bound to get hurt going down that path and hence he was  hellbent on ensuring that slavery was banned from the kingdom.

Davy felt lucky to have a brother like him. Outside the novel, he never had someone to look out for him the way that Malcer did. It made it impossible for him not to grow fond of the second prince.

Arriving at the throne room, he ran into the duke along with his daughter exiting the room. Davy halted in time before bumping into them.
