The vampire princess

"Explain."

"Her name is Thana Lomari, previously known as Thana Johns. She is the long-lost daughter of the Lomari family. Three years ago she was hailed as a genius who at the age of 14 had two doctors degrees and business in the billions of dollars, but then she got into an accident and the trauma damaged her mental capabilities. A few months later she was discovered to be the long-lost daughter of the pureblood vampire royal family."

The more he talked the darker the man's face became.

"How can a pureblood vampire become mentally retarded after an accident?" He asked as he continued walking.

But before the man could answer him another young man with light cream-colored hair and blue eyes joined them and spoke.

"Because that's just an official statement, but the truth is unknown, I checked video footage from the accident. There is around 1 hour missing. The video was almost perfectly fabricated." Said the man.

"You sure are quick Emanuel. When did you manage to do all that?" Asked the dark-skinned man from before.

"When you were getting donuts, my dear Jake." Said the man with a teasing smile, as it was a well-known fact within the group that this robust man had a mega sweet tooth.

Jake could only awkwardly scratch the back of his head as he smiled.

"Where were her guards when the murder happened?" Asked the captain once again.

"Neither of them was in the room. They both went out for just a minute and only the Lomari princess and the teacher were in the room during the murder." Said Emanuel.

As the trio continued to talk on the way they soon arrived at the heavily guarded room where a woman in all black leather attire greeted them.

She had shoulder-length dark purple hair and shade lighter eyes. Her clothes perfectly showed her hourglass curvy figure as her flirtatious nature quickly disappeared after seeing her Capitan.

"Sophie, what's the situation?"

"The place is heavily guarded by the royal guards. We won't be able to see her before her guardian arrives."

The man wasn't disappointed as he expected. He calmly sat down on the couch in front of the room and closed his eyes as he waited.

He didn't have to wait long before light footsteps were heard. The man opened his eyes as he looked at the coming person and couldn't help but secretly marvel at others' good looks.

The incoming person was the current vampire king Lucius Lomari, Thara's eldest brother and guardian.

"Your majesty"

Greeted Capitan and managed to attract the man's attention.

"Are you the leading detective on the case?" Asked Lucius.

"Yes, I am detective Noah Piralli." Nodded Noah with the same serious expression.

"I will talk to my sister first, then you can come in." Said Lucius and without waiting for an answer walked into the room.

The three next to Noah couldn't help breathing out with relief.

"Ahh. That sure was scary." Said Emanuel.

"Yeah. I don't know how the captain can talk unbothered." Added Sophie.

"Well, that's the captain, Always talking business." Jake also nodded with understanding.

Inside the room, a young girl was sitting on the floor as she played with toys unbothered about the situation. She had a childish innocence that enhanced her already divine beauty. Her long black hair fluttered as she looked at the incoming man with bright blue eyes and a smiling face.

Lucius couldn't help softening his cold expression when facing the girl.

"Luci, did you come to play with me?" Asked the girl with a bright smile and twinkling eyes.

"Hmm. I will play with you in a bit, but first I have to talk to Ash okay?"

"Okay, you talk to Ash first but don't take too long." Answered the girl as she turned to continue playing.

The next second Lucius turned back to his cold self and motioned towards the man in his 20ies to move to the corner of the room.

"Explain."

"The woman came to visit the princess as usual. Lola went to get her medicine as we arrived in her room. Then the princess remembered that she forgot her toy in the common room and asked me to get it. When I came back the woman was dead and the princess continued playing on the floor stained with blood." Ash finished explaining in one breath and bowed his head even lower. He knew he messed up and was waiting for his master's punishment.

"You will receive punishment when we go back. You know the rules." Said Lucius and didn't bother with the man again.

Ash couldn't help sighting out in relief he knew that this mistake could have gotten him killed so he felt relief after hearing Lucius's words.

Lucius went and sat down on the floor with her sister as his expression once again softened. After playing for some time Lucius decided to bring the matter up.

"Thana."

"Hmm."

"There is a man that wants to ask you some questions, of course, if you don't want to you don't have to answer. Do you want to meet him?"

"Okay, but let's go out for a walk, I am done playing."

Lucius nodded his head and helped his sister wear a warm jacket before they walked out of the room.

After they walked out Lucius told Noah to follow them and the other didn't have much reaction as he followed.

The trio sat on a bench outside as both guards and Noah's people followed them.

Noah didn't beat around the bush and asked Thana directly.

"Princess, do you know what happened to Miss Fletcher?"

"Hmm? Anna?"

"Yes."

"I do," said Thana nonchalantly.

"Then can you tell me how she died?" Asked Noah unhurriedly and the next moment everyone's attention was on Thana.

"She ate too much candy." Said Thana with a smile.

"Sorry?" At that moment Noah couldn't help questioning his sanity.

"I said Anna died because she ate too much candy." Repeated Thana as she looked at Noah with concern the next second.

"Mister, are you okay? Do you have problems with hearing? Do you want to go see a doctor? There are lots of doctors here." If Noah didn't know that the girl was mentally retarded and if not for her innocent and concerned face he couldn't help thinking whether the girl was mocking him.

But as a professional Noah quickly gathered his thoughts and asked another question.

"What kind of candy?"

"The pink candy. Anna often brings it." Said Thana.

Even though Noah knew that Thana had mental problems he knew that she interpreted things differently so he still asked ridiculous questions to gain some kind of clue.

After noting down all of her answers Noah bid them goodbye and asked them to contact him in case Thana remembered anything else.
