Last Goodbye

As Noah looked at Thana getting into the car with her brothers, he couldn't help but think back to everything that happened.

"Her gift sure is unreal right?" Jake's sudden question broke his train of thoughts.

"The royals are on a whole just on another level. She just got away from a murder so calmly and even gave us a gift for our work." Added Sophie.

"You want to give me a gift?" Asked Noah.

"Don't decline, It's not because of the fact that you remind me of someone, it's a thank you for not disappointing me."

Then, Thana took out something from the drawer and handed it to Noah. It was an old case file.

"It will help you find the one you're looking for."

"I don't need your handouts. I will find who I am looking for with my own efforts" Said Noah without opening the file.

"It's not a handout, you earned it. Moreover, if I thought you weren't able to find him yourself I would just give you a name and an address, not a clue.

Take the file. All the other copies of it have been destroyed. This is the last one."

After hearing her words Noah opened the file and his eyes enlarged. He then looked up in surprise.

His eyes were asking a thousand questions but he didn't voice any of them and Thana didn't bother to answer either.

She then turned towards her brothers

"I think It's time to leave this place."

"Yeah, she is amazing." Muttered Noah.

"hmm? Boss, did you say anything?" Asked Jake who thought he heard something.

"No. Let's go, we have a lot of work to do."

The trio couldn't help groaning after imagining all the paperwork they needed to do for this case.

Meanwhile, Thana who sat next to Julian in the car closed her eyes and waited for her brothers to ask their questions.

Julian was the first to break the silence.

"Why didn't you tell us?"

"Tell you what? That I am no longer mentally challenged or do you mean matter regarding Anna?"

"Both."

"I didn't tell you about Anna because I wanted to deal with her myself. I know you care about me. Even though I was ill I remember everything. If I really told you about Anna would I get things done my way?"

Julian couldn't deny her statement, he knew she was right. If they knew what Anna was doing, they would have dismembered her right then and there.

But he couldn't help feeling wronged.

"What about the other thing?"

"If I told you I was fine then I would have to tell you about Anna as well.

I know you guys feel guilty for what happened, but you don't have to, it's not your fault. Moreover, even though you felt sad for what happened, you also felt happy when I was like a child as if you didn't miss anything."

"We…"

"I am not accusing you. I didn't mind getting along that way for a bit more either." Said Thana.

She then placed her small hand on Julian's cheek and turned his face towards herself.

"You have nothing to feel guilty about. It's better to look forward than create more regrets."

Her words finally broke all the complications in the trio's hearts as if they were finally granted a pardon.

"So, Lucius, where are we going now?" Asked Thana.

"To the Vampire kingdom, Silas has already made all the preparations."

"Do you mind if we stop somewhere on the way?"

Lucius nodded affirmatively.

Sometime later they came to an uninhabited island to which Thana provided coordinates.

The island was very isolated and hard to get to if you didn't know the way, but it was surreally beautiful.

THana familiarly led the way and the group found themselves atop a cliff where all the island could be seen.

It was truly a beautiful sight, rare to even the royals.

The place was so peaceful as if it were a whole nother world.

On the cliff stood a single tree with unknown red flowers growing on it.

Thana took out a strange necklace as she stood next to the tree, looking down at the island.

She didn't say anything and they didn't bother her with questions either. After about an hour passed Thana finally moved.

She hung the necklace on the tree and attached it gently as if saying goodbye and then she spoke in some kind of strange language that the trio didn't understand.

And though they were curious they didn't ask.

"Sorrely Va. Astave sin Soro." Said Thana and took out a knife from somewhere and curved out a strange symbol on the tree.

Only then did the three notice that there were other symbols on it, symbols they knew nothing about.

As they left the island Julian finally couldn't hold back and asked out loud.

"What were you doing on the island? You seem familiar with this place and you spoke some kind of language I didn't understand, what did you say?"

After he voiced out Julian couldn't help regretting his rashness seeing how his two brothers were glaring at him, but Thana calmly answered him.

"I was just paying my respect to the deceased." Said Thana ending the discussion.
