After discussing and dividing the jobs Everyone left the meeting room and now only Thana and Noah were left while Ash was waiting for her outside.

"You know that you just made a promise that will be very hard to keep right?"

"Why do you think that?"

"Finding a killer in three days is almost impossible and if we won't be able to do that we can't give the witches Joanna's body back."

"It's disappointing."

"What."

"You."

"Huh?"

"You are a powerful supernatural being in charge of other powerful supernatural beings but you are still living like weak human beings. I mean you're not dumb so how come you don't see such an obvious weakness." Said Thana with an obvious mocking.

"Careful with your next words princess." Snarled Noah as he breathed heavily trying to quell his anger down.

"Or what? You'll do a background check on me? You say it's almost impossible to find the killer in three days but we both know that's bullshit. If you used your task force correctly we could have a guy in an hour, 2 max."

"And you are smart enough to know that's not how it works. We have protocols to follow. The evidence we gather using our abilities won't stick in court."

"Your task force is strong enough to gather evidence with their abilities that will stick in court, instead you are making one of the most evolved AI hybrid to do background checks."

"And what would you have me do huh?"

"Lend them to me."

"What?"

"Lend them to me for a bit and I will show you what they are truly capable of."

"Out of the question."

"They are your team, you need to trust them instead of shutting and overlooking their talents while doing all the job yourself. this is not a human investigation office, its special task force and the criminals are not normal so the methods can't be normal."

"What would you know about the investigation?"

"Quite enough actually, but you know the most important fact? I do know who will be deciding whether or not the land of the undead will continue to back the special force. So, will you be lending me your task force till morning or not?" Asked Thana.

30 minutes later in the meeting room.

"Boss, why did you call us back?" Asked Jake.

"There has been some new development." Said Thana as Noah stayed quiet on the side.

"New development?" Asked Sophia with uncertainty.

"Yes, you won't be doing the tasks Noah gave you earlier. You have new tasks now."

"Boss?"

Hearing Sophia's question Noah only nodded his head signaling that he was on board.

"Emanuel, I want you to hack into all the dating apps the victims used and find out who owns them as well as who they've been speaking to and all their dates."

"But that's not legal and even if it was it would take lots of time to do that with the equipment." Said Emanuel.

"Yeah, but you don't need any equipment now do you?" Sadi Thana with a meaningful look.

"It won't stick in court."

"I don't need it to. Just do as I said and get back to me as soon as you can."

"Already did." Said Emanuel and the screen started showing new pictures to everyone.

"The power owning the apps is the same company ''Luminus". They are one of the richest companies in the universe and have a hand in multiple different fields. I also found the guys the victims went on dates with."

"Trace their IP address." Said Thana.

A few seconds later the door to the room opened and Ash walked inside.

"How was it?"

"There was a mild residue of Altamira found in victim's bodies.'' Said Ash.

"Altamira? That's a flower only grown in the land of the undead by specters and is one of the main ingredients to making AL-19, A forbidden drug that weakens and disables almost all supernatural beings depending on their abilities." Said Noah after hearing Ash's words.

"He's not strong enough to deal with them so he's using drugs." Said Sophia.

"Done." Emanuel's exclamation managed to get everyone's attention, this sudden change embarrassed him a bit but after a few seconds, he adjusted and showed new information.

"All the IP addresses are the same. They all lead to one of Luminus's servers in the earth's main office building. I managed to narrow down the search and after going through the CCTV in the company found the person behind the accounts. His name is James Parson. Normal office worker, a human, has nothing to do with the supernatural and does not match any of the descriptions."

"Pull all the homicide cases that have not been accounted for in the past year in that city.

Now narrow it down to single women, the home invasions, and deaths by sharp objects, like knives.

Emanuel followed Thana's words and the screen kept changing as they narrowed down the cases.

"What are you trying to do?" Asked Sophia.

"How long have you worked in homicide?" Asked Thana instead.

"I joined this task force 4 years ago." Answered Sophia, not understanding the relevance of the question.

"James Parson is a white-collar worker, the seven victims were murdered with precision. Does their murder look like a first-time job?"

After Thana's question, everyone's expression changed instantly.

"You mean that he has killed before?"

"Isn't it obvious, the killings were too well planned and too detailed, not to mention the drugs."

"You don't mean?..." This time Noah couldn't help but cut in.

Hearing his words Thana looked at him with meaningful eyes and instantly the two understood each other, but not everyone in the room was as bright.

"Huh? Boss? I don't understand what you two are talking about. Can you explain?" Asked Jake as he devoured the donut he got from god knows where.

Thana and Noah looked at each other and nodded their heads simultaneously, then Noah proceeded to explain.

"This guy's killings are too professional which means he's not a beginner, but if a guy went on a spree killing supernatural beings he would have long ago appeared on our radar. This could only mean one thing, he didn't kill supernatural beings but instead killed humans before."

"Yes, but then why did he suddenly start killing supernaturals instead and where did he get the drugs?" Asked Emanuel.

"Humans who find out about the supernaturals often have radical reactions. They believe that what they are doing is right and they are killing monsters and so on." Said Sophia.

"Fu*k" Cursed jake.

"Yeah, but the profile doesn't fit." Said Emanuel. "The serial killer wouldn't have this kind of morals."

"That depends on the type of serial killer." Said Sophia.

"It doesn't really matter." Said Thana.

"Huh?"

"It doesn't matter what type of killer he was previously. The knowledge of the supernatural gives him the belief of holding a moral high ground as if his perverted desire to kill women is now justified by the fact that women he kills aren't human. Moreover, drugging and killing women who are stronger than him gives a new kind of thrill, a new addiction he found."

"No matter what the reason is for the killings he won't be able to stop now. He has already tasted the new drug and it won't be long before he kills again." Said Noah.
