Thinking Rock

I slid down the steep hill. Her body was rolling nonstop. Twigs, leaves and rocks were washing her body. It was fast. I couldn't catch up. Her mouth was opened gathering up all the earth. She's dead for sure, I thought. The body clashed with earth at the end of the hill. ''Oh shit,'' I said. I ran as fast as I could.

I got to the end. She was lying on the earth still. She opened her honey like eyes. I ran down the hill next to her body. She stared at me mouth half open. Soil was stuck in her teeth. She was trying to say something but I couldn't make it out.

'' Wait,'' I said. ''I'm coming.'' She turned her head and closed her eyes. I reached to her chest and pressed at her heart. Her heart beats were quiet and soft. I whispered, ''Apollo, I need your blessing.'' The sun extended her rays. The palm of my hand felt warm. I bet Apollo is smirking now saying, '' Of course you do.'' Where ever he is.

The girl started to glow. She had an aura of gold. As a single speck of golden dust fell on the ground the golden glow dimmed and disappeared. I took my hand off. The girl's chest rose and fell. I exhaled. She was breathing. Thank the gods.

Her chestnut hair was lying on her face. I reached my hand and gently pushed it off. I stared at her angelic face. She was breathtaking. The moment I saw her, I was bedazzled by her beauty. Now that I'm looking at her closely, I saw the true blessings of Aphrodite.

Her thin figure was lying on the ground sleeping peacefully. Her hair was chestnut brown. Her eyelashes were long with golden rays. I stared at her lips. They were cherry red. Her skin was tanned beautifully. She was like The Sleeping Beauty. She was A Sleeping Beauty. Except for the twigs and leaves in her head. I stroked her skin. It was too soft; too delicate.

I looked at her smudged clothes. It was the first time I was happy to get dirty. With mud I mean. To stain my clothes. I shook my head with a light smile. Gently, I carried her off the ground. She was too light to be human that's for sure. I crossed her hands around my neck. She was freezing. I held her tight.

As I took a path across the woods, I was looking at her angelic face half praying she wasn't awake. There she was in my hands, smiling lightly. She's comfortable, I thought. I wonder what she is dreaming off. The moment I saw her she took my breath away.

When she was talking to Ares her tone was stern unafraid, but I felt that beneath that tone she was trembling. I could almost hear her heart scream. I bet Ares felt that. Maybe it's because everyone is afraid of the Gods. Ares especially. Or was she lying to us? No. It couldn't be. Her face was too pure to tell lies. I looked at her. She was softly smiling at me.

Is she really Zeus reporter? She was too pretty to be his. I think she's Aphrodite's. Ares said that she has a lot. Wasn't Hermes Zeus reporter? Zeus saw everything he wanted when he did. Then why would he send this stunning minion? And why did he let Ares find out about her? I bet it was a set up. She could never screw up or Zeus would turn her to ashes. Wait a minute. Did she lie to Aries? I stopped, inhaled, and looked at her again. Who is that girl? She seemed too pretty to be real that's for sure. What if she was lying? I looked at her for a minute then continued walking.

I looked at her charming face and said, ''How did you get yourself in here. You're too perfect to be a minion.'' She exhaled, still smiling. God, she is beautiful, I thought with a smile.

I decided to take her to the east side of the forest. If she is descended from His Greatness then we have to settle her in the best spot. With her lying warmly in my hands, we passed the training field and went into the deep side of the forest. The trees thickened and then scattered. Birds chirped in the trees. I saw one jump from one willow to the other. I could feel her breathing softly. Chest falling and rising. Cherry red lips smiling.

As usual, I passed two large oak trees, one willow, and one redwood. Then here we are. The combination of music, peace, and beauty. My Thinking Rock. My own special kingdom. Olympus number two, forest edition. Ruler: Lord Alex of the Demigods. More like the only demigod. I smiled at my childish thoughts.

Trees were moving from side to side. I stepped through the tall grass and approached the bedlike rock. I laid sleeping beauty. Wet mosses crawled through her chestnut hair. I looked at her and sighed.

I lay next to her. The sky was clear. I saw a bird flying freely. Opening its wings and flying to its hearts content. Too bad I wasn't blessed by flying, I thought.

I turned and stared at her. My hand touched hers. Her hand was tiny compared to mine, I thought. Her nails were beautifully shaped. They were painted white. I noticed that a few were stained with mud. I let my hand slide into hers. Her palm was freezing. Mine was warm. I once again dared to look at her face. She was smiling. I decided to keep my hand in hers.

I closed my eyes. I counted her soft heart beats. What if she wakes up? ''What do you want me to say?'', I whispered to her ears. I stood up and said in whispers, '' Hey, I'm Alex. I carried you all the way here.'' No that would be ridiculous, I thought. '' Hey,'' I whispered again. '' I'm Alex Williams nice to meet your acquaintance.'' Yeah, then take her to the palace on a white horse will you? Stupid thoughts. Stupid Alex. I would lose control went I look into her eyes. That's for sure. Then I'll stumble all over my words. There is no point in rehearsing.

Her hand was warm now. I stroked the other. It was freezing. I jumped off the rock and sat on her left. As I was going to hold her delicate hand, she sighed. I retreat my hand and bolted straight up. She opened her eyes, face towards the sky. She turned her face left. Her honey eyes widened. My heart thundered in my chest. I bet Zeus could hear it on Mount Olympus.
