Second wave

To find a girl in a reddish-brown shirt, her pallor was dull and her expression bleak, she hunched over by the door,

"Carrie!"

Carrie groaned and scampered inside, Agnes touched her shoulder while she just stood by looking at the reflection of herself.

They were glad to see her again but what she must have went through left her empty, they didn't understand the new Carrie, she was like an empty shell waiting to pass away.

They didn't want to keep on living and worrying about her.

"Carrie?" Agnes being the caring parent checked the bathroom door and leaned on it, she heard water pouring and gasped at the water seeping from under the door.

"Carrie!" She peeked in and saw her hunched over in front of the bathtub with her knees together and her hands drooping.

The bathroom was flooded.

"What's the matter with you?" She swerved her around and gasped at her grey skin, yellow eyes and sharp teeth.

Agnes screamed when she spread out her claws screeching.

She hissed and clawed at her.

Agnes gasped holding her neck, she jerked back choking and fell down. She emerged transformed hissing.

"Agnes? Agnes!" Norman ran inside seeing both of them in that state.

He looked up and realized the monster they'd become.

He screamed when she leapt on him, he tossed her away, sobbing, he grabbed his phone dialling as fast as he could.

"Help, there are monsters in my house!" He yelled.

The operator came through "Sir you need to calm down"

"They're here. Ahh!!!!"

The phone dropped "Sir? Sir!"

The police department arrived at his house, they knew his location after he picked that call.

"This is insane" Cop number one said, it was awfully quiet and no one was home, there was something wrong about the way the house was, open windows, scattered objects, he brought out his gun when he moved around.

"Hey, Norman?" He gasped at the creatures lingering by the wall, screaming, he shot at them.

The cop returned to the empty street and looked terrified.

"What the hell is happening?"

The car doors were open and his eyes traced the goo on the car door and bonnet, reluctant to touch it, he turned at the scary growls and swallowed at the aliens, he recognised their uniforms and his gun shook.

At that moment, he was going out of his mind.

He shot down the aliens appearing on every dark corner of the streets, they dropped and the other three surrounded him.

He stopped by a streetlight when the three parted and he ran through the alley to meet a man.

"Run for your life!" He clutched his shoulders.

"For the glory of Zandax" He raised the gun and the ooze engulfed him.

The cop screamed as it burned his skin contorting on the floor, his irises constricted and rolled up to give way for the new, he stood up with the others.

"Go, we have many to compel"

They separated and he adjusted his gun.

...

Lucas stared grimly at the cameras as mayhem spread through the city, he turned to the camera at the suburbs.

"Lieutenant"

"The governor is asking for insurance at the manifesto" She held out a paper.

"Last time I checked, we're agents, not bodyguards"

"Umm..."

He sighed shaking his head. "Send some out there."

She nodded.

...

"Ladies, gentlemen, esteemed guests. We will make California great again" The host said.

"But it is great" Zeke shrugged sitting on a building and watching through specialized binoculars. He didn't tell anyone that he could read lips too.

Angel Square Garden was filled with supporters.

"That's the spirit" Quinn rolled up the ropes climbing up the edge and Zeke grimaced.

"You could just use the stairs"

"That's what I said when you used the hoverboard"

"Why take it back when you're not even gonna use it?"

Quinn grunted taking the binoculars to watch the agents' movements and kids trying to touch them.

He grinned at the agent getting poked by this annoying kid and he jump scared him off.

"Everything is fine" He said into his earpiece.

"Same here" Nova said flying over a car, with US flags on each side, he was asked personally to escort the governor to the site with league members on bikes on every side.

"Wait, so does Nova work for the league? I can't keep up with the league these days"

"No"

"Nothing over here" Mitzi said from upfront over the cheering noises and touched her other ear moving out when the governor arrived and she spotted a man pulling up a pistol, his expression was wild and he screamed.

"The system is killing us!" She grabbed it before he raised it and pinned his hand behind his back.

"Just keep walking, Johnny" She murmured and the cops took him into a squad car and drove out.

"All good now" She huffed during the applaud.

Tyrone watched in the public and he pulled out a device and the sides had knobs that blinked red and blue with an antenna whistling. "Let's have some fun"

He whistled again walking outside and Zeke's eyes followed him setting apart then scoffed at the size of his shoes.

He looked up at the strange drones moving in other news station drones. They carried canisters with green goo inside.

They stopped at mid-air, they were red and the mechanics were impeccable with metal latches shaped like claws.

"Something's not right," Nova said and his form changed to his metallic part, his eyes glowed and buzzed at drones.

"This is Infernal tech!"

The audience stopped to look up at the drones, suspicious and the governor dropped his speech looking up too, his mic dropped.

"Sweet Jesus"

"Get back, get back!" They cried out and the people scattered causing some outcry.

The agents shot at the drones and Tyrone huffed in anger dispatching the canisters before it was too late. The action caused a spray on the citizens some fell down contorting.

"Shit" Quinn said when it touched the agents too and saw what it was doing to them.

"We've been jeopardized. Something freaky's going on here"

"Holy_"

"Get out while you can," Quinn said to Zeke trying to keep it together.

Nova spotted the man behind the building, he turned at the alien screeching and flying at him, he dodged it and grabbed its sole to swing him back, blasting it.

The garden was emptying at the uprising and some Infernals were flying and causing mayhem.

He swooped down and blasted them through his eyes one by one and groaned when they pushed him down, he was only lucky by a split second to shoot at whoever he was looking at but groaned at the pile phasing up.

He groaned at the drag on his cape once he phased back, groaning, this wasn't helping, he ripped it off and switched to his former black suit covering his face.

The cannisters spread and civilians jumped out of the way at Infernals marching through to shoot at whoever was visible on the streets, they blew through the traffic of cars tumbling to get at the crowd of people running.

Flooding the streets with mutagen, some stopped at the overwhelming feeling clawing in pain as they mutated.

Mindful of their existence and mindless about who they were infecting. Only living to serve the imperial cosmocrat.

...

A helicopter arrived shooting at the Infernals that were roving about taking people and the flying ones crowded their view and the shooters focused fire on them.

An aerial shooter screamed when another Infernal grabbed him from behind his partner.
