Initial Success

Pearl was injected with the medicine under Robert's expectant gaze. She did not have any reaction to it.

She looked at Robert and hesitated to speak.

Two days ago, Pearl had already written her will. Once she had an accident, she would give part of her property to Robert.

She knew that in the face of death, money was worth nothing.

But Pearl hoped that Robert could marry a good girl someday.

They ate in silence. After the meal, Robert washed the dishes and turned off the lights before he found the heart-shaped candles and blew a few balloons. He knelt on one knee solemnly and said to Pearl, "I don't know what love is; I don't know how long we can be together, but I only want to spend the rest of my life with you. Please marry me."

Robert was inexperienced about love, but he only wanted to express his affection to Pearl, not simply on the a-doctor-and-patient relationship.
