I Saved You for a Clear Conscience

Reyna knocked on the door. Leroy saw her, so he said a few more words and asked Ethen to leave.

Reyna walked in and placed the soup on the table. She filled a bowl and handed it to him, "Have some soup. It's still hot."

Leroy glanced at the soup and didn't take it. He looked at her and asked, "You cooked this?"

"No. It's Julia."

"Do you know how to cook?"

"Yes, but I don't want to waste my time."

To Reyna, it was a waste of time to do meaningless things.

There was no point in making soup for him.

Leroy smiled. He took the soup and drank it with one large gulp.

It was just right, neither hot nor cold.

Reyna took the empty bowl and turned around to put it away. Suddenly, she was held by Leroy on her waist. He pulled her into his arms with one hand.

Reyna lost balance and sat by the bed.

"What are you doing? Let go of me!" Reyna tried to loosen his grip. Although Leroy hadn't recovered, he was a lot stronger than her.
