Imperial City at LY Corporations in President's office at evening,

Seren who was on the other line replied, " I can just eat at canteen of the hospital. Mr. Edward, I'm busy right now".

The call was disconnected suddenly even before the Louis could say anything more. He stared at his phone and surely she hung up on him. Louis looked a little sad after the call was abruptly disconnected by Seren.

Alex noticed Louis's expressions which worried him a little as he asked, " Anything serious?".

Alex's voice made him come back to his senses as he realized that Alex was still here with him and replied with a smile, " Nothing. It's my wifey. I miss her already. She must be busy. It's still her working hours so guess there must be an emergency patient".

Whatever Louis said right now was all a show to his brother as they had to pretend to be a lovey dovey couple but something was real too. He didn't know what this feeling was. He was feeling down a little. Hence Louis was not only trying to assure Alex but was also trying to console himself by saying this. Louis kept his phone in his pocket as he said, " Let's continue. What were you saying?" and resumed his work matter discussion with Alex.

Same time at Imperial City in general ward of Trust Hospital,

A 11yr old cute boy was sitting while leaning on his inclined bed as he stared without any expressions on his face at the huge window on his right side which showed the beautiful view of city in that darkness of night. Seren entered the general ward and as soon as the little boy sensed someone's presence in the room, he immediately leaned down and pulled over his blanket to cover his own face. It was as if he was trying to hide.

Seren approached towards that little hideous boy who had covered himself in blanket from head to toe. She stood beside his bed as she leaned down to him and then patted his head lightly with love. The boy surprised by her sudden actions slowly let down the blanket till his nose so that he could see the person who had just gestured him with warmth. He was curious to know why did she pat his head?

Seren retracted herself and checked his IV drip and his vitals. She had already checked his test results and everything seemed fine as there was nothing to worry about his health. After making sure the child was fine, she sat down on a chair beside his bed. The little boy was looking curiously at every action she did.

Seren asked, " Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?".

The boy didn't say anything and just stared at her with his innocent eyes curiously. At first he thought that she was just an another doctor who came to check him but then why did she pat his head? He was confused and curious at the same time.

Seren said as she looked at the child not replying, " Are you not feeling well? Does it hurt somewhere? You can tell me".

The boy let go of his blanket and sat up and leaned on his inclined bed. He looked down and shook his head as to answer Seren's question.

Seren smiled as she patted his head, " That's good. If you ever feel uncomfortable then tell me right away. Okay?".

The boy was fidgeting with his fingers as he was nervous to speak. He asked in a low voice with his head down, " I heard someone adopted me but I haven't seen anyone except doctors coming to meet me?".

Seren replied, " Hmm. I'm sorry for making you wait. I was a little busy with my work".

The boy looked up to meet her eyes. But just after a moment he again looked down and asked in low voice, " Are you the one who adopted me? Why did you adopt me when I am a cursed child? Being beside me brings bad luck to everyone".

Seren folded her hands in front of her chest as she looked at the boy who had asked her a serious question. She replied, " You really have no manners".

The boy looked sad after he heard her. Seren continued, " Should you be asking your parents why do they have you? Should you be addressing your mom as 'you' ? ".

The boy shocked by her next words, he looked up. He thought that he was gonna get abandoned again as others did to him but what she said was something different. He stared at her for a while before lowing down his head again.

Seren ordered, " Why do you keep looking down? Look up straight into my eyes".

The boy looked up as she ordered but he still ignored her gaze as his eyes were fixed somewhere else and not at her. Seren leaned in closer and held the child's face with her both palms as she made him look at her.

She said to him with a serious expression, " Listen carefully. You are not a cursed child. Just because someone says you are mad, you don't become mad. Understand? Another thing, I am your mom. Okay?".

The boy only nodded. Seren left his face and sat back on her chair. Just then someone knocked on the door as a nurse holding tray of food came inside. She greeted Seren first and then she arranged the food for the boy on the table which was attached to his bed.

The nurse left leaving the new mother - son pair alone in the room. Seren got up and shifted her chair close to his bed. She sat down again and picked up the spoon as she scooped up some food and then blew it slowly as it was hot.

After cooling the food she held the spoon in front of the boy but he was just staring at her. Seren said, " Aren't you hungry? You haven't had anything since yesterday then why aren't you eating?".

The boy just shook his head and then slowly ate the food. Seren asked him, " Is the taste okay?".

The boy nodded to her as a reply. Seren was talking with him as she was feeding him with another bite, " I know that you might not like eating porridge but just eat it till tomorrow morning. When we go home, I'll make delicious food for you".

The boy just stared at her without saying anything.

After feeding him , Seren cleaned up everything and went out to return the dishes. The boy who saw her finally leaving the room sighed. He was feeling lonely now as they room was again empty. He thought that she had left him. Again, he was staring at the window which showed the beautiful view of dark night sky. After a few minutes, Seren came back as she sat beside his bed on the chair.

She asked him with a soft voice, " What is your name?".

The boy looked nervous and afraid. He was again fidgeting with his fingers and looking down. Seren waited for him to reply. After a few minutes he finally said, " I don't have a name. Everyone just calls me a cursed child".

Seren was going crazy in anger. She just wanted to punch all the people who talked to her son like this. She tried to control herself as the child was still with her.

She asked with soft voice, " Hmm. So do you have any name in your mind that you want to be yours?".

The boy just shook his head. Seren thought of something and after a while she said, " How about Lucas? Do you like it?".

The boy looked at her as there was joy in his eyes but he tried not to show on his face. He again nodded as to show his agreeing. Seren patted his head as she gently stroked his hair and replied, " So your name will be Lucas. Okay?".

The boy nodded. Seren checked time and it was already time for his medicines. She helped Lucas to take medicines and then even fixed the blanket for him to sleep. She switched off the lights except for one lamp. She sat on his bed beside him and then leaned in as she gave him a peck on his forehead. She stroked his hair and said softly, " Good night ".
