Teasing Her Won't Do Any Good

“Your meal’s prepared, sir. You may now eat your breakfast,” Blaire said as soon as she finished putting his glass of juice on the kitchen counter.

“Feed me,” Axel suddenly said as Blaire was about to walk out of the kitchen.

She stopped and slowly faced Axel, who was making a serious face, but deep inside him, he badly wanted to laugh at the face she’s making.

‘Finally, a reaction that I wanted to see,’ he said to himself.

She looked at him with bewilderment; her brows being confused whether to arch or to crease, her eyes widened, and her mouth gaping at him.

Axel felt satisfied that he immediately opened his mouth, implying that he wants to be fed.

“Come on, client’s request, remember?” he said. “I’m starving so feed me now,” he added.

Blaire obviously hesitated as she got nearer to him. She thought that this request is too much. Cooking and serving him food can be considered as a “normal” request, but feeding him? That’s another.

“Are you sure, sir? You wanted to be fed?” Blaire asked as she reached the counter. ‘It’s better to make sure than to assume. Who knows? He might be joking,’ she thought to herself.

He looked at her with his deadpanned emotion. “I don’t look like I’m kidding, right?”

She bowed her head. “I’m sorry, sir.” Then she picked up the spoon and started scooping the food she prepared. She gave the spoonful of food to Axel, who willingly opened his mouth to receive the food. He was happily satisfied with his plan.

“You seem happy today.”

Axel looked behind him as soon as he heard his voice. He smiled widely.

“Am I making it so obvious?” he asked. He didn’t wait for a reply before continuing. “Well, I was so happy to choose the inn I’m currently staying in because they have a wonderful service.”

Moments of trying to flirt with Blaire rushed into his head, causing him to snicker before shaking his head.

“Found someone to play with?”

Axel shrugged. “Nah, she’s more like a dense little girl. Just had fun trying to tease her.”

He was actually curious about Blaire. Normally, most of the ladies he tried to flirt with are easily swayed, and many of them were the first ones to make a move. In Blaire’s case, he couldn’t even tell what she’s thinking. He only wanted to see her reactions every time because she gives off an innocent aura.

‘Looking forward to going back to the inn to go see her,’ Axel thought, even though he just arrived at the venue where their conference will be held.

Blaire, on the other hand, had just finished cleaning Axel’s room, 30 minutes after he left for his business duties. She was in the lobby of the floor when someone called her attention.

“Hi.”

She looked behind her and saw a woman at the front desk. She was stunned for a while then she remembered that Lester isn’t the one at the desk during the day.

She smiled politely and greeted her back. “Hi,” she said.

The woman was clearly in her early 50s. Her hair was strictly put on a neat bun where strands of her hair on the roots started turning gray. The lady was wearing a cardigan but she could tell that she’s having wrinkles as shown on the skin of her neck. Wrinkles in her eyes were also visible as if they were always marked there.

“I see you’re the person every staff on this floor was talking about,” she said. “I am Leah, and I am assigned as the front desk employee on this floor during the day,” she added.

Blaire smiled and bowed her head. “I am Blaire, nice to meet you, Miss Leah.”

Leah blushed upon hearing her call her ‘Miss’.

“Come on, Blaire. You don’t have to call me that. Just Leah is fine with me,” she said, to which Blaire agreed and nod.

“So, how’s your day so far? I heard about the client assigned to you.”

Blaire was shocked upon hearing her question. ‘How did she learned about that? Did Miss Margaret told her about it?’ she asked herself.

“You’re so easy to read based on your expressions,” Leah suddenly said, interrupting Blaire from her inner monologue. “You might be wondering where I’d heard about it, right?”

Blaire nodded.

“Well, you’re unfortunate enough that Lester was the assigned desk employee when it happened last night. He’s actually the source of every news on this floor. He’s very talkative for a man, so we learned what happened,” she said.

Blaire blushed, making Leah giggle.

“So, how is it so far?” she asked.

“It’s not that really difficult to assist him, but he makes some weird random requests,” Blaire answered. Leah widened her eyes upon hearing it.

“Like what?” she excitedly asked. Blaire shrugged.

“Just, you know, making me his personal assistant,” she answered. She wanted to tell more but she’s afraid that Leah might tell the details to the other workers and might cause a misunderstanding.

Leah sighed.

“I thought he’s requesting some more weird actions,” she said, obviously emphasizing the word ‘weird’. She sighed again out of disappointment. She was hoping to hear some lewd requests from Mr. Sebastian but instead, she knew that Blaire won’t even try to disclose any information that’s too private.

“That’s too boring,” she said. “His requests are just one of the ordinary requests made by other non-VIP clients,” she added.

Leah’s last statement struck Blaire.

“You mean, there are other requests made by VIP clients other than having an assistant?” she asked. This obviously piqued her curiosity.

Leah nodded. “Of course, that’s why we’re called Inn. But this is actually a secret between the client and the assigned housekeeping staff.”

“What do you mean? Miss Margaret and Miss Kendra didn’t know about this?”

“Of course they know. That’s where this inn started. This was once built for customers who wanted to be entertained on their lonely nights.”

Blaire gasped. She didn’t expect to learn about this.

“But it’s all in the past now. Because Miss Kendra’s sister works in the jail department, and she doesn’t want to keep her sister in the jail so Miss Kendra stopped sending her staffs to entertain customers.”

Blaire sighed. ‘So it’s all in the past now,’ she thought.

“But of course, some of the returning clients here were the clients before, so they still make requests for extra service. But the only thing now is that such requests are being kept between the client and the said staff who will give the service.”

“What if Miss Margaret caught the staff granting such kind of requests?”

“We will intervene. The employees on this floor are the ones who maintain the confidentiality since we’re the ones who worked here longer than any of the staff in the lower floors.”

“But what if the staff didn’t want to grant the request of the client? What will you do?”

“Of course we will assign someone willing to do the job. Besides, many of the younger employees on the 5th and 6th floor offer extra services.”

Upon hearing those, Blaire was stunned.

“Why would they do that?” she asked. She was asking this question to herself but she didn’t know that she spoke loud enough for Leah to hear it.

“You know the very reason. Like everyone else, they need money, and they’re willing to offer themselves to receive more than what they earned.”
