"Oh Vivian. Come in dear." My mother said.
I moved out of the was to make space for Vivian to get in. After she walked in I closed the door and leaded her to the sitting room.
We set down on the couch and I decided to break the silence.
"What really brings you hear?" I asked.
"I just want to talk, okay?" She said looking nervous as I scoffed at her words.
"After 2 years? Really? I tried talking to you many times to explain my side of the story, but no. You decided to believe a complete stranger over me. I know I did you wrong, but couldn't you atleast give me a chance to explain? So you moved to another place, without telling me! I thought I was your 'BFF' that's what you said right? Best friends forever. But I guess nothing lasts forever right, that's why you decided to leave without even giving it a second thought."
"It was not my intention. My dad forced me to." She stopped, taking a deep breath."After he found out that you are Ronald's daughter he panicked and said that we had to go. I did not even have the time to say no because within a blink of an eye we where already in the car on our way to the airport. I am sorry. Truly, I am but there was nothing I could do." She said wiping a stray tear off her cheek.
Sighing I took the seat next to her. "Vive. You know that I love you right and I too am sorry for putting your life in danger. I shouldn't have gotten you involved." I said hugging her. "But you know there is a party that I got invited to this Friday. I am sure the Queen B will be there." I said as she chuckled at the last part. "Why Queen B anyway?" I asked her also chuckling.
"Well I needed to have some fun I'm actually surprised that it actually worked. There was this girl who kind of was the Queen but I took her crown." She said smiling broadly as I laugh at her words.
"Mhm, I see. And you are chasing David?" I asked jokingly as she scoffed at my words.
"Yeah he is cute and all. But I figured that since I was playing this part I'd copy some of what these American movies teach me about their topical high schools. Maybe if I was not attracted to girls I would go for him but you will always be hotter than him babe." She said a smirk on her face.
"And she's back lady's and gentle man." I said laughing at her. "I have truly missed you Vivian Woods."
"So did I, who are you by the way?" She asked knowingly to the fact that I change my name's whenever I move.
"It's Jennifer Prinston." I said cringing at the name.
"Wow. That's like." She chuckled."That's... I don't know how to respond to that but wow." She said.
I sighed for what seems like the millionth time today. "I know. I don't like it too." I said laying back on the couch.
"When can I finally call you Alexis Amahle Philips?" She asked with a serious look on her face.
"Maybe when my mother stops running from that, that... man." I said tiredly. To be honest I am tired. Moving around is hard. Super hard, more hard when you are trying to hind but it is what it is right. I have to live through the struggle.
"Yeah, some day." She said and I honestly want to believe her words but hope is gone.
"Girls come and eat before the food gets too cold." My mother shouted out from the kitchen I assume.
"Mum, that's why they invented a microwave to heat up food." I said while standing up along with Vivian and heading towards the kitchen. I had forgotten about my unfinished slice of pizza though, my delicious pizza.
"Just come and eat." She said with frustration clear in her tone.
"Yes ma'am, whatever you say " I said taking my previous seat next to my mother while Vivian sat infront of me, the only other available seat around the table. My mother has put out an extra plate for Vivian and it has three slices of pizza on it.
Minding my own business while my mother and Vivian are talking I take my slightly cold unfinished slice of pizza on the plate and stuff it inside my mouth.
Bless the Italian people for coming up with this magnificent creation.
Pizza is really good, any kind actually if you think about it. Everything just works. I don't know how they did it but wow! Geniuses! I'm telling you. They must be really proud of themselves.
"What do you think, honey?"
"What?" I asked not knowing what they where talking about.
"Don't you think it is time to get you some new clothes?" My mother asked.
"Why? I look fine don't I? I for for one do not care. I said going back to stuffing my face with the rest of the pizza.
"Em... well you do not look that bad." My mom said quietly.
"Are you serious right now? Like really serious?" I asked.
"Yes, hun. Do me this one favour and go with Vivian to the mall and get nice looking things so you can look at least decent at home. " She says cheerfully.
"You know what happened the last time me and her went to the mall right." I said looking at Vivian.
Back when we used to live in Virginia, me and Vivian were at the mall having a normal day like normal teens who eat Oreos and ice-cream. Vivian stole a pair of black Prada hills and was nearly cought by security.
How she managed to convince them that she was wearing the shoes when she walked in was by far the funniest thing I have ever seen unfold infront of poor old me.
"Well... I do not regret it one bit. The shoes fit me perfectly now so I win. Vivian said with a goofy grin.
"Whatever you say." I said quietly.
"So you will go with her and get a nice outfit for the party you are going to on Friday?" Mom asked hopefully.
I looked at Vivian skeptically before answering. "Fine." After saying that my mom released a sigh of relief.
Well it will not hurt to go shopping with your ex best friend who accused you for stealing her boyfriend and sleeping with him then moved to another place without even hearing my explanation or side of the story.
Yeah nothing is going to go wrong.
Right?
