Chapter 33— Sentimental Gem

Aduke still holding his passed away wife's expensive necklace. He never gave it back to Lilian. He knew that the necklace he was holding had sentimental value to Lilian but he felt the same way. He would let Wyndell give it to Lilian.

The hardships faced by his children were painful for him but he couldn't change what had happened. He had made a mistake and all he had to do was face all his errors. William will wed his eldest daughter Victoria for a reason. Saving the Gritson is his now primary goal. For that selfish reason, he could no longer allow it to happen. Everything is under Yuri's desirous agenda, and Victoria just wants to grant his foster parent's request for reverence.

He still has time to rewrite what needs to be revised. Whatever happens, will happen. The battle between both sides hardly played deception strategy. If Yuri likes a competition, he is willing to gamble. He would take a risk everything he had just to amend his mistake.

He instructed his driver to go to the Gritson building and fetch Yuri in her office, to which he immediately complied. He hid in his pocket the necklace he was holding. They waited for Yuri for a bit, and then, he saw a serious face on Yuri as she walked closer to where he was.

" Is there a problem?" He asked as she entered the limousine.

" A lot has happened and I think I can kill you if you let me recount all of them," she was annoyed replying to him. Aduke lightly glowed which made Yuri even more irritable.

" Why are you laughing? Is anything funny?" She questioned in bitterness.

" Honey, I just now saw you acting like that, it's really unusual. Aren't you happy that William is going to marry my niece? All your plans will come true," he said while the limousine was traveling.

" Do you think I'll be happy then to know that Wilson will bequeath a large part of his wealth to Wyndell? Who will be happy with that horrible news? And he also intends to replace me as Chairman of the company!" He wasn't surprised. Wilson had really planned on that for a long time, it only took a while because of Wyndell's condition back then.

" Maybe he found out that we really have an affair?" He mumbled. She looked at him in a bit suspicious.

" Did you tell our secret to your dear bestfriend?" She deadly appealed. He disagreed.

" Yuri, if I'm going to ruin your name...I don't want my name to get involved. You know me, I am a private person. I don't want my name to be degraded," he informed in a grinning manner.

" Aduke, your name has been tarnished for a long time. Who cleaned it? Didn't I? Like your face, I'm the reason you looked human after Lilia burned your face. Don't maim me, because we're both nasty and no matter what we do, our masks will not turn white, "she said meaningfully while staring into his eyes.

Probably, Yuri was right. The mastermind of illegal business will never gain an honorable spot. Even though the words she stabbed were deeply ingrained in his heart, he would still try to change things with the hope of being changed.

" Thank you for reminding me that you made me look like this. If I look unnatural because of the scar you fixed, remember that the face you have that you are proud of is also unreal," he reminded his woman.

" I knew, Aduke. If I hadn't changed my face, I wouldn't have married Wilson Gritson", she response once with a devilish smile and took closer to his.

" You won't ever stick with me if I don't change my face," she added.

He didn't know what face Yuri used to have before. She is also very cunning and clever and doesn't want to reveal her true face. But, he doesn't mind by the way. He accepts her dark side as she accepts his. Yuri wants a game, and he also loves to play with her favorite hobbies.

He incontrovertibly placed his hand on her long and flawless legs. He looks at her eyes while grinning and asking permission to enjoy this night. The woman smirks at her to disagree. She immediately removed his hand on her legs, but he restraint—do it what he wants to happen.

He immediately grabbed her neck without hesitation, kissing her on the lips. Even though he was annoyed with the woman in front of him, he just couldn't stop himself attracted to her. He passionately kisses her until he feels her responding with a kiss. Her poisonous lips own his sanity.

What a delicious sin he willingly executed !? Damn Aduke! What a stupid jerk you are !?

YURI wakes up early in the morning. She slowly got off the bed and turned her sight to Aduke. He slept soundly on the bed and only a blanket covered his nakedness. She looked in the mirror and seriously examined the reflection in the mirror. Everything on her face changes a ton. That face staring at her wasn't the real Yuri.

Yuri was already dead!

She consciously opened the drawer and find something to drive Aduke to death. She found a sharp and shimmering knife inside it. She gripped the knife and was forced to face Aduke's whereabouts. She will kill him rather than make him a big barrier and obstruction to her hostile plans.

She slowly walked closer to where he was. She was about to stab him to death but there's something precious stone lying on the bed that caught her attention. She halted after looking at the necklace with an emerald stone pendant. She immediately put down the knife and hid it behind him when Aduke moved.

" Hey sweetheart, good morning..." he greeted her lethargically. She forced to smile.

" Good morning," she replied and sat on the bed. Aduke closed his eyes again and fell asleep then.

She decided to stand up and returned the knife to the drawer. She changed her mind to kill him. She stared at the bed where the necklace had lied. She handed over it, checking if it was real. She hides it in her skirt pocket.

She thought for a moment before going to the washroom. She washed her trembling hands and soaked her face. When she looked in the mirror, she saw Lilian's reflection. Lilian's face is glowing, her cunning smile drew to her lips. She clenched her fist in anger.

In a fit of rage, she threw the toiletry she had picked and banged the mirror, causing it to shatter. She heaved a deep sigh after her raging catching of breath. She stared at the broken glass. Lilian's face was no longer there but the fear and guilt sprouted all over her heart.

" Yuri!" Aduke called worriedly as he forcedly opened the restroom. He looked at the broken mirror.

" What happened?" He asked in wonder.

" Nothing," she replied coldly as she passed Aduke standing in the doorway and only a towel wrapped around his bottom.
