Dixey's POV
Dixey?
I heard the crack in her voice, which almost made me cry, but I didn't. I turned to my friends and clasped to the ground.
*inside Dixeys head*
When I opened my eyes, I was in the penthouse. We all have one in our minds, just not all people know about them. Mine is calm, filled with board games and memories. All penthouses have all of that person's memories. Happy and sad, good, and bad. All of them. This is where either Bailey or I am when the other is in control. But this time, Bailey was here too.
"Good to see you awake," Bailey said.
"..."
"Please Dixey, talk to me!"
"..."
"It was self-defense, Dixey! If I didn't do it, then we would've died! I can't live without you, Dixey."
I was sitting up on the couch now. She came up to me, tears were streaming down her face. She went down to her knees in front of me. She held my hands in hers, gently, but still had a grip. I looked down at our hands and squeezed them.
"Please, just say something," Bailey pleaded.
"..."
"Dixey, I can't live without you talking to me and being there with me."
Tears steemed in my eyes, and I let them fall. I pulled Bailey into a hug, and she hugged me back.
"I j-just don't w-want you t-to g-get hurt," I said in between hiccups.
"I don't want you to get hurt either," she said.
Amanda's POV
We were in the waiting room of the hospital. It's been 3 days since the park incident, and Dixey still wouldn't wake up. Then the doctor came in.
"Wow! You're still here," said the doctor, "She's awake."
We all look at each other and walked into the room, where our friend laid. Her eyes were open now, well, half-open. The bandages were still around her head where the rock hit her, but the rest was off.
"Hey, guys," the person on the bed said.
We all turned around to see if the doctor was out of hearing range. Once we saw he wasn't anywhere to be seen, we turned around again.
"Who are you?" asked Andrew.
"Dixey, my friends," she replied.
"Dixey!" we shouted at the same time. We all ran to her and grasped her in a hug.
"OW, OW, OW!" she shouted. We all backed away, and she started to laugh.
"What's so funny?" asked Shyla.
"Pain is hilarious," she replied, "What happened to me?" She looked around at everything she was hooked up to.
There was an IV, but nothing else serious. She reached up to her head and felt the bandages. She looked up at us, worry and confusion was all over her face.
"When Patrick hit you with the rock, he did more damage than you think," I began to say, "The blow was just hard enough to fill your brain with blood. It wasn't hard enough though to fill your head quickly."
"You've been out for 3 days Dixey," Andrew finished.
"How's school been?" Dixey asked.
"F-fine, but you not worried about what happened to you?!? You could have died!" I told her.
"I'm worried about you guys too much to worry about me. You went through quite a beating," she said.
"But we're not the ones laying in a hospital bed!" said Andrew.
The nurse came in when Andrew said that, and she told us to leave.
"Don't tell my friends what to do! I've been gone for 3 days, and we have a lot of catching up to do," stated Dixey.
The nurse looked like she wanted to punch Dixey, but left, leaving the food for Dixey beside her. Dixey tried to sit up more and set off an alarm. The doctor came running in a second later.
"What do you think you're doing?!" asked the doctor. He was out of breath and waiting for an answer.
"I just wanted to sit up so I could eat something!" Dixey said. She laid back down and her stomach growled.
"Never move again, you're too weak," he said. He started to leave when Shyla spoke up.
"Dude, she's hungry! If she wants to eat let her eat."
The doctor completely blocked her out and left. There was a silence in the room until Dixey moved again. She pulled the IV out of her arm with no effort. She swung her legs over the bed and stood up. She immediately went down, but Shyla caught her.
"Dude! What do you think you're doing!" Shyla said.
"What does it look like I'm doing? I'm getting out of here," Dixey said.
"What?!" I yelled.
"You guys said something about breaking the law, so let's do it!"
I was shocked. She remembered, after all that happened to her, she remembered.
"What's going on here?" yelled the nurse.
"I'm leaving," Dixey said. The look of determination was on her face, and wouldn't leave.
"The police are here to ask you some questions. You're not going anywhere," the nurse smirked while she spoke.
"Fine," Dixey plopped down on the bed when the officers came in.
"Hello, Dixey. Name's officer Blush, this is officer Durland. Can we ask you a few questions?" Said Blush.
"Do I have a choice?" Dixey asked and gave a smirk.
"Smart mouth, girl," said Durland, "Can we talk to you in private?"
"No!" She shouted, "Sorry, I just want to spend time with my friends." She looked down and was blushing with embarrassment.
"Don't worry Dixey, will be right outside the door," I said.
I looked at Andrew and Shyla and gave them a nod. We all walked out of the room, and into the waiting room once again. I heard muffled voices from behind the now-closed door, then silents.
Officer Blush's POV
As soon as the 3 children were out of the room, we sat on the child's bed. The girl had long blond hair, bright blue eyes, and a frightening smile. Durland grabbed the notepad from his jacket and clicked a pen open.
"Ok, will start with the basic questions," I said.
"Then you're going to get to the nitty-gritty," she said. That smile was still on her face, and it wasn't comfortable.
"Right, first question," said Durland, " What's your name?"
"Dixey," the girl said.
"Just making sure we were right. That's a weird name, though. Is that your nickname or-?" I began to say.
"What's wrong with her name?" Dixey said. Her face had grown dark once she said that, then back to normal.
"Calm down, they don't know any better," Dixey whispered.
"What?" Durland and I asked at the same time.
"Nothing!" she yelled.
I looked into her eyes now. Inside of them were red slits instead of a normal blue here and there. Amazing. I thought. In the blink of an eye, the red covered the eye. The blue was now where the red use to be.
"What are you looking at?" The girl shouted.
I backed up a bit, so did Durland. Her eyes went back to their original state, and the girl shook her head.
"I told you to stop now do so!" she whispered to herself again.
"Who are you talking to?" Durland asked.
"Know one that is of any importance to the investigation," She wouldn't look at us.
"Alright well," I began, "do you know how the 3 gentlemen in the park got injured?"
"I hurt them under self-defense," Dixey said.
"Do you know how?" Durland asked.
"With a knife," She whispered to us.
"Can you tell us what you did to hurt them?" I asked this time.
"I cut Patrick's throat, I stabbed Nate in the chest, and I threw punches as Gideon," she said calmly.
"Do you feel guilty for it?" Durland asked.
"Why should I? They hurt my friends, and were going to hurt me! If you don't believe me, then go to the cameras just outside of the park. I bet they caught the whole thing," She was staring at us like she was about to turn her eyes red again.
"It's funny, we have it with us, Dixey," I told her.
I pulled out of my jacket the tape. Durland and I haven't seen any of the tapes yet, we were waiting for a confession. I walked over to the T.V. in the top left corner of the room and put the tape in, then pressed play.
It was silent, so we couldn't hear any of the words passed between them. At first, we see the 3 boys and Dixey's 3 friends talking in the park. Suddenly, the fight began. Each friend had one of the 3 kids until one went to the ground and the other male moved to assist his friend in beating the shorter female.
Suddenly, Dixey came in, and everyone stopped fighting. There was a few words pass between what seemed to be the leader of the males and Dixey. The fight began again when Dixey pulled out a knife.
I fast forward a bit, I could tell Durland was getting bored as well. Once I stopped it, I wasn't able to look away.
Durland's POV
When Blush stopped the tape, Dixey had a knife. The kid named Gideon was bleeding from the leg. A kid named Nate charged Dixey. It didn't end well for him, and I was glad the video had no sound.
Dixey suddenly went down from a blind object. Then Patrick came into the camera view. He held an object in his hands, and he was going towards the blonde girl. Once the girl got up, Patrick ran towards her and missed. Later after, blood was on the girl, and the boy was barely moving.
The child named Nate tried his best to run to Dixey, but soon after collapsed to the ground. Then Gideon pulled out a gun, a pistol to be specific. The bullet nearly got Dixey, and before Gideon could reload his gun, there was a knife beside his head.
I paused the tape and looked at Blush. He looked back at me, the look of fear on his face. This is what really scared me because nothing ever scares Blush.
"Rewind the tape, Durland," He ordered.
I did as I was told, and stopped the video as soon as Dixey was rising up from her blow to her head. Before she could move anywhere else on the tape, Blushed paused it. In the video, Dixey was facing us. Blush took a few steps back.
"What is it?" I asked.
Blush only pointed at the screen, on it, showed only Dixey, nothing else. I looked closer to where he was pointing. Chills ran up my spine at what I saw. Then we heard the laughter.
