Chapter 2

-Dian, my dear," a man's voice was heard overhead, "Where are you?

The girl was lying on the ground, in the same place where she had lost consciousness minutes before, the oak tree was lying on top of her, holding the little girl prisoner. Her eyes were closed, but she was aware of everything that was happening around her, she could hear that voice that was getting closer and closer to her and she could identify it without any problem.

-Frederick saw his daughter's body being crushed by a big tree, his legs were shaking and his heart was racing with every beat. He panicked - wake up, dear daughter.

He removed the branches that covered Dian Victoria's face as he kept pronouncing her name, as if by repeating it several times his short life depended on it. With great effort he lifted those branches that crushed the body of the little girl, followed by dragging Dian's body a few meters, waiting for her to react.

-Dear, please wake up

The man with tears in his eyes clung to the girl, holding her head in his sturdy arms.

-Dian began to open her eyes, little by little, as if she had the light of a lantern shining in front of her.

-Honey, it's me," a part of the man's soul came back to him, "Are you all right? Are you in any pain?

Dian did not seem to understand what was happening, she was disoriented and not very aware of what had happened, however, the memory of herself screaming was replaying in her mind. It was something she could no longer understand because she no longer felt the feeling that suffocated her, at least not with the same intensity as before.

-Dear, please answer me," her father was still dealing with her.

That girl looked at her father and could not say anything that she would have wished to say. She limited herself to repeat her grandmother's name, Rosa (short for Rosalinda), she needed to have the elderly lady near her. Maybe she thought that somehow that woman could understand better than her what had happened, she had a feeling that it would be like that and the need for it to happen soon grew more in her with every minute that passed and they still did not meet with her grandmother.

-Frederick tried to calm his daughter, who kept repeating the name "Rosa".

After a few minutes of an intense walk and with the girl in his arms, he arrived at the house of his wife Victoria's mother, which was not very far from his own; 2 hectares away to be specific. He entered the house and found the lady at the foot of the stairs, as if she knew someone was coming for her and was ready to receive them.

-Give me my granddaughter," the woman sounded a bit abrupt, but it was not surprising since the relationship she had with her daughter did not please her very much.

And not especially because she didn't like him, on the contrary, it was because of the way he used to express all his feelings and emotions that Rosa couldn't stand him for long.

She took the girl in her arms and took her to the next room, in which there were too many candles lit, as if they were preparing some kind of ritual.

-My child, do you remember what we talked about," the woman began to make a connection with the girl.

Frederick tried to enter the room with them, but Rosa didn't allow it. She didn't even give any explanations before closing the door inches away from the face of the man who was worried about his 5 year old daughter.

-You must always remember this," he reminded Dian when she did not answer his question.

-When you feel the same as now, don't despair. Close your hands into a fist and resist, resist as much as you can. You must not, EVER, let anyone know or you could be finished, my child.

Dian seemed to understand what her grandmother was telling her, since she nodded her head with each word that came out of Rosa's mouth. But, no matter how much she affirmed everything, she didn't know what was happening to her, she knew it was something bad that she would always have to hide, but she still didn't understand the motive or the reason to do it. She was still too little to understand.

-Grandmother, they're coming for me," Dian said without flinching, not even a muscle.

That girl, of a very young age, was beginning to experience what her ancestors qualified as Viziune extinsă, which was a Gift of being able to see situations or people that were linked to one in some way, like when someone mentions you in a conversation or they talk about you, you have the power to know whose it was and from where.

Dian visualized in her head several men and women coming en masse in her search, with state of the art weapons in their hands, which for some strange reason made the girl think of trenches and sticks. Like the myths they told in her little school, of what society used to be like in the old world (Planet earth).

-They won't be able to find you, they won't," Rosa affirmed with a certain emphasis in her sentence.

She turned her back to the girl and began to move her hands, forming symbols with them while she pronounced some words that didn't make much sense, or rather, she whispered to herself. Flashes of blue light began to fill the room, shooting everywhere, going through the air without any fixed direction, as if their only purpose was to get lost in space and do nothing else, that their only life was to illuminate the place for a couple of seconds before disappearing completely and getting lost in the oblivion of whoever witnessed it.

-They are here," was the last thing that girl said before closing her eyes and losing herself in the fear that all this produced in her.
