Ellen led the way through the packhouse, Bella at my rear. It was so surreal. I felt empty looking at each area as memories of my life passed by. Thankfully it was the dead of night so no one else was wandering around. I still couldn’t believe everything that had happened to me so quickly, how fast things had changed. I kind of wished that I could go back, warn myself of Xander’s intentions, tell myself to be kinder to Ashly. As we walked out the large wooden front doors I felt myself inhale deeply, pausing to look at the packhouse one last time. Giving myself just that moment to mourn, mourn the person I used to be.
“Luna?” Bella whispered nervously, she was darting around as if frightened we were to be attacked.
I closed my eyes and said my goodbyes to the place that I had thought was my home for so long, my heart hurt thinking about never seeing this place again.
“Laura. We have to go.” Ellen barked, I opened my eyes to see the same mourning look in her eyes.
