“What about your eye?” I asked Ellen, she looked at me with shame. 


“Ah. Well, it seems the forest wanted to keep a piece of me…” 


Both Bella and I gasped as Ellen pulled up her right eyelid, showing just flesh left. 


“It’s okay, it doesn’t really hurt. Thanks to the wolf blood I think it’s already basically healed. Guess I was lucky the tree pulled it out…” 


“Ellen…” I stammered not sure what to say, she just shrugged before turning to collect the bag she had thrown. Forcing me to remember that needle. 


“Ellen, what did you inject me with?” 


Ellen’s body stiffened as she stopped moving, Bella sharing my curious expression. She turned and gave us both a nervous smile. 


“Ah, just something Doctor Herman gave me… to calm you down…” 


I frowned at how she seemed to almost dodge the question, I knew she was holding something back. 


“Ellen…” I breathed with a tinge of agitation, why would she be keeping something from me?
